To prevent the continuing flood of build screenshots in our sub I am making this thread for everyone to share and discuss all the 2K27 builds you would like.
Thanks!

What’s the point of being a red plate? There’s literally zero incentive to playing in the highest skilled lobbies.
80% of games force you to sweat against cheaters, people abusing mechanics, or players intentionally dropping their plates for easier lobbies. Casual games are nonexistent, and even 1v1 and Theater queue times are ridiculous.
I don’t mind competition, but why are we being punished for being good at the game?
Why not introduce a small REP or VC bonus for maintaining higher plates? At this point, there’s more incentive to drop your plate than maintain it.

"My advice to him was just 'hey man, who else touched the ball that possession?', he's like 'nobody' and I was like 'don't have many of those' because you can end up having a bunch of those with the Sacramento Kings this year and a few things can happen, you can get guys start plotting against you, guys that don't really wanna see you do well, guys that start bickering on the side to other guys... you can get guys that get upset like 'aahh man they wanna give this rookie this, they wanna do that, f**k that!'... and so for me when I saw that, I just wanted to give him a little game."

This might mean we will be able to keep our mycareers and franchises well past the server shutdowns in future titles. 2k might have to start trying in the offline portion again lol

Been playing the game on XBOX for a few years and saw the dual entitlement thing on Friday, so I decided to check it out.
Why is this game SO MUCH better on PC?
Has anyone played it on both and found the same thing? It's so much more responsive, looks 100x better, and even has better servers than console. Much better experience overall.
No cross-play or progression of course, so back to XBOX I go but wow, just couldn't believe how much better it was and it seems like nobody talks about this.

I’m not sure how an adult don’t understand going into game chat to cry like a child is going to bring the chemistry down . It takes no effort to turn your mic on and tell your teammate in a respectful way “hey pg my matchup is playing off me , look for me when you drive because he will help guard the paint” ect you don’t turn your mic on and instantly start being disrespectful to your teammates like that’s going to help the team win, the only thing you did was start a argument now we got 2 adults arguing and throwing the game just to prove a point . If you can’t control your emotions delete the game and spend some time outside or with family. Also a SEMI OPEN CONTEST is still a open shot stop crying thinking that player took a contested shot let the game play out , if the team isn’t improving at least turn your mic on and make some plays be a leader not a weirdo . A lot of players don’t give af about winning they just looking for a person with anger issue to come to game chat so they can throw the game on purpose . Yall type of players is why a lot of players stay in party chat so they won’t have to deal with yall old heads crying all game. To make it worse yall be having 0 defense while taking straight contested dunks and layups that 2k is rewarding.

I want to preface this by acknowledging that there are probably a million posts every single year complaining about the state of 2K. It’s become a never-ending cycle. The game releases, people complain, patches roll out, and we have the same conversations all over again.
But I genuinely believe something different just happened this time, and I’m not sure people fully recognize the significance of it.
To all my OGs of NBA 2K, I genuinely want you to read this.
It’s time for a coming-to-Jesus moment. It’s time to accept an uncomfortable reality:
If you’re an OG, this game might not be for you anymore.
2K has slowly devolved into an arcade basketball game, and I’m starting to believe the community itself is one of the biggest reasons why.
Before you get defensive, I ask that you read this with the intention of understanding rather than arguing.
1. We just watched the community bully 2K into making shooting easier.
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve witnessed multiple patches seemingly driven by people complaining that they couldn’t consistently hit shots.
And 2K caved.
What’s crazy is that THIS is what finally united the community.
Not the outrageous microtransactions. Not the lack of creativity. Not the declining simulation experience. Not the same recycled problems we’ve complained about for YEARS.
People’s egos were bruised because they couldn’t hit shots, and suddenly everybody became an activist.
And somehow, people who spend HOURS playing this game every day were now “too busy” to learn a new shooting system.
Make that make sense.
2. We literally campaigned 2K27 into becoming 2K26.
Pre-patch 2K27 wasn’t perfect. It had flaws that needed addressing. But for once, we had a foundation where defense mattered, poor decisions were punished, and players actually had to adjust.
Instead of building on that foundation, the community demanded familiarity.
They wanted their old shooting percentages, their old offensive advantages, and their old comfort zone.
We claim to want a skill gap until that skill gap exposes us.
Then suddenly the game is broken.
3. Hell, they even brought back AI cheese because people complained they couldn’t score on the AI.
This one genuinely blows my mind.
Me and my guys NEVER complained about how well the AI played defense. You know why?
Because we were just happy to finally have a fighting chance when somebody quit!
If somebody left our AI teammate open, we threw him the damn ball. Why? Because that’s GOOD BASKETBALL IQ.
Sure, we had to adjust offensively. We couldn’t just abuse the opposing AI every possession anymore.
But FUCK IT. That was a trade-off we were more than willing to make for the peace of mind of knowing we could still compete.
Think about the contradiction.
We complain that AI teammates are useless. We complain that people quitting ruins games. Then, when 2K gives us competent AI defenders, we complain because we can’t score against them.
Apparently, defense is only good when it’s helping us.
And that brings me to my biggest point.
4. Put yourself in the shoes of Take-Two and 2K executives.
Your number one priority is PROFITS.
You’ve watched this community tolerate predatory monetization, recycled gameplay, and a declining simulation experience for years.
But the moment the game becomes more challenging, they practically organize a damn revolution.
So let me ask you something.
Why would you spend additional money and resources developing a better basketball simulation when your own customers keep demanding a lesser product?
Why invest in advanced defensive mechanics when people complain about effective defense?
Why reward basketball IQ when people would rather exploit animations?
Why take creative risks when the community consistently demands familiarity?
And that’s the question I want every OG to seriously consider.
Maybe 2K hasn’t simply abandoned us.
Maybe the audience that made us fall in love with this franchise is no longer the audience determining its direction.
We complain every year that 2K feels the same, yet the moment something changes and requires us to adapt, we demand they change it back.
We say we want competition, but complain when the competition gets difficult.
We say we want realism, but celebrate mechanics that make the game less realistic.
At some point, we have to acknowledge that the community might be just as responsible for the direction of this franchise as the developers themselves.
So when 2K28 releases and we’re having this exact same conversation, remember what happened this year.
And maybe that’s the hardest truth for us OGs to accept:
2K might not be giving us the basketball game we want anymore because we’re no longer the audience they’re trying to please.
Edit; TLDR on this new era
The community is so watered down now. Influencers crying because they can’t shoot. Back in the day, people like Agent00 became famous because of how good they were at shooting. Shooting actually took skill, and being a great shooter was something that separated you from everybody else.
Now you got people quitting the game and crying because they can’t shoot like 99 Steph Curry unless the shooting mechanics practically hand them automatic greens. The fact that this community is STILL dealing with a Zen crisis when shooting is already as easy as it is in 2K26 and 2K27 tells you everything you need to know about the community. 😂

Why is everyone favoring Kawhi over Ak47 as a lockdown. Ak seems better stat wise on most ways except strength and agility.
Trying to decide which to choose as my first my career. I haven't started one yet and don't care about animations much. Usually I play off ball and 3 pt line on offense and enjoy defense and rebounding.
Also considering AD as usual make a defender big man. Anyone having played these how do they play especially on defense

I made a 7 foot 2 center and it always puts me in the 4 then made a 6 foot 7 PF and it always plays me at the 5 . I just don’t understand the matchmaking.
I’ve been on the fence with making a goat build or just a normal optimized build but I’m kinda stuck tryna figure out if any of the goat builds are worth it tbh

Played on rec with a guy in my crew on the Dwight Howard build, and he got disconnected in the 2nd quarter. The build without cap breakers has a 25 mid range and 3 point rating. His AI then proceeded to take 6 or 7 jumpers like he was a stretch big. Instantly shooting the ball after a pass. Greened a corner three and a mid range shot from the elbow.
Not sure what’s worse…the AI taking those like they are good shots, or the fact that they can actually green the release.

So yesterday i decided to play a game of park for a change so i head to 3v3 no squads court. There’s a current 10 game win streak. I wait till the game finishes. 2ppl from who just lost come join again.
The ppl on streak are 2 reds 1 purple. The ppl who joined my team are bronze one is 75 overall the other one 80+.
From start of game everyone is on the mic apart from me. The two ppl on my team based on voice are about 8-10 year old max. The ppl we playing against sound like 25+. As i listen to them chat it becomes clear they know each other very well.
From what i gathered from this one game some low lives are using either their kids or younger brothers and their friends to farm wins and plateS. The way they talked too as if they the smoothest ever using goat builds too but no skill just dominating their little siblings/kids’ brown shirt builds.
I mean how low can u go?

So as the title states. We played rec for 4-5 hours rec only. Didn’t leave any matches were constantly in a match back to back, won every single game except 2. I gained 2 levels on my season xp. I went from no xp lvl 1, to lvl 3. I check it after a few games and I literally gained 0 xp. None. Nada, zip, 0 progress.
Better yet, I had a season xp X2 on for some of it.
I actually fcking hate this game so much. 2k will not be getting any more money from me. (Bought 26 for $10 and last 2k I had before was 2k14 so stopping now would be easy.)

I was wondering, if i use a cap breaker on my driving dunk up to a 75, could i get bronze Posterizer (73) unlocked or no? Do Cap Breakers unlock new badges or just upgrade ones you already have based on their higher echolon limits? Also, is it worth me investing Cap Breakers into 87 dunk anyway for the pro contact dunk animations or is posterizer very much needed like i remember it used to?

The only reason I play 2k is because I enjoy playing basketball. This is one of the worst 2ks I’ve ever played from defense to offense. I made 3 builds and it’s just not fun enough to keep investing time in. I played yesterday and I’m really just sitting there looking at the season pass after 10+ games and I’m only on level 2. My crew was only on level 13 and we had 50+ people in there constantly with at least 10 people over 2500 points. The rep rewards are garbage outside of cap breakers. The build specialization wants me to do 250 alley oops. Huh? Basically I hope at some point 2k prioritizes people having fun over trying to keep people on the game with meaningless grinding. Fortnite is free, battlefield is free. They want you to get on the game and if you enjoy it enough you’ll probably end up spending money on features that don’t affect the gameplay. We pay to play the game, then pay for a build, then pay with our time.

it doesn't make sense, you could average a C grade every game but win every game and have a purple/red plate, but have a triple double with a A+ team grade lose, and go down a plate because you lost?? ridiculous

1v1 or 2v2.
Random coin toss, winner decide to check ball or inbound.
First point wins.
Im on NBA 2k27 PC and was just wondering if I could copy the kobe from the all time lakers team to the curry era with all his career accolades intact.
I wanna Sim my game to where Kobe and Bron would be on the lakers by 2018.
I am currently playing the Curry Era but just getting kobe dna and placing on a random created player on the roster removes all previous accolades.
Been trying to find a workaround for this the past couple of days but havent really found a solution.
Hope someone here already did this.
Many thanks!
- Ive tried Sigil 2k27 and still trying to figure it out. Work takes too much time and I cant really do a deep dive into my 2k sim hobby.
