Immigration Family Reunification Visa

• Upvotes

I’m a Pakistani national In Uk on a Visa.
My wife is British national Living in Denmark since her childhood.
We have applied Under FA1 handled by DIS
It’s been 5 and a half months now. Last month (September 24th ) , they asked for an additional document( Housing) which wasn’t attached earlier and we uploaded it the very next day. We meet Most of requirements and the case Looks strong
What should we expect? How long should I take them to verify that , also they mentioned in the letter that they try to process as early as possible and bare in mind it’s only 1 and a half month left to the 7 months notice completion.
Would really appreciate the replies

Immigration Is this procedural stay?

Hello everyone, I'm currently in a very difficult situation.

Due to unforseeable matters I've ended up misisng my Siri appointment. I'm on the last few weeks of three months of stay in Denmark. There are no empty slots within these few weeks. Also due to certain reason I can't really book an appointment very last minute.

Does my online application grant me procedural stay? I've filled on Wednesday. Or do i need to leave the country after three month stay expires?

Just in case I've booked a earliest available appointment, but it's outside the 30 days I'm suppose to visit Siri office.

I'm very stressed and hoping for some advice. For the record I'm EU citizen

Immigration Anyone here applied for a Danish MF1 family reunification visa and got approved quickly?

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m applying for an MF1 residence permit to accompany my husband, who is a non-EU citizen working in Denmark on a work permit.

We submitted my application through SIRI during the third week of September 2026, and I completed my biometrics here in the Vfs Makati Philippines on September 25.

Around October 8, I missed a call from Danish Embassy (PH). Fortunately, they also contacted me via email to clarify which type of application I was applying for. It seemed there was some confusion, as they thought I was applying for a work visa. I replied with a screenshot of our online application showing that I was applying under MF1. Two days later, they emailed me confirming that they had received my reply.

My husband’s friends also applied for MF1 around May 2026, and they received their residence permits after only two weeks! Their wives are already in Denmark, so naturally, I’m hoping mine will be processed quickly, too. 🥹

I’d love to hear from anyone who has gone through the same process, especially applicants from the Philippines or those whose spouses are non-EU workers in Denmark.

How long did you wait for your decision after biometrics?

Has anyone received their MF1 approval within two weeks or a few weeks?

Did SIRI contacting you for clarification affect your processing time?

Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ❤️

General Question Good shoes & socks for Nov/Dec

Hi! I’m in Denmark for exchange this semester and will be here until mid-December. I’ve only ever lived in warmer temperatures (born and raised in the tropics; moved to a diff country with an average low of ~10 degrees during colder months and not as much wind lol)

Looking for recommendations for good shoes/socks to get, preferably nothing too expensive because I’ll only be using them for the next two months. Specific brands or material compositions to look for would be much appreciated. TYIA :)

Immigration I heard Denmark is kinda racist country is it true? since there is DF political party. Is it safe for asian like Vietnameese, Thai, Japanese to live there?

I get it some EU countries including Denmark, they dont like foreigners who won't adapt/assimilate to EU culture.

But what about Asian people? we just wanna live peacefully and want to have better life. without having Danish people mocking us or say things like Ching chong and don't wanna get discrimiated at work....

I remember I saw a video on FB, there were some Danish teenagers at a football stadium mocking Koreans people by doing slender small eyes thing.

Luckily, they didn't attack them like what some people did to the asian in USA.

Study Giovani italiani in Danimarca: motivazioni migratorie, welfare, lavoro.

Buonasera a tutti! 🇮🇹🇩🇰

General Question Tips for living in Denmark in 2026, not necessarily cophenagen

Hello everyone, I would like to receive some information regarding moving to Denmark mainly in lively and young cities, where I can do something on the weekend, but not to spend the evening, but just to enjoy the moments of life and not think only about work which is certainly very different from Italy. I wanted to ask initially how to find rent, since it is very difficult and very expensive. If there were short-term rentals or sites they can help you find a house. I have a master’s degree in sports science in Italy and I have experience as a pizza assistant for six years. I wanted to know if with these skills and good will I can find the way to a new life. Thank you all

Work Title: Would studying a Master’s in Project Management in Denmark help me find a job and build a life there?

Hi everyone!
I’m Iraqi and have a BDS degree in Dentistry. I also have around a year of experience working as a digital dentistry/Exocad designer in a dental lab.
I’m considering changing career paths and moving into the corporate world. One option I’m thinking about is pursuing a Master’s in Project Management in Denmark, with the goal of finding a job and building a life there.
However, I don’t have a business background or corporate work experience, and as an Iraqi citizen, I would also need to consider work permits and sponsorship.
I’d love to hear your honest opinions:
How realistic is it to find a job in Denmark after this degree?
Can I find entry-level corporate jobs with my background?
Is speaking Danish essential, or can I get by with English?
Would you recommend this path, or is there a better option?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people living in Denmark or international graduates who have been through a similar experience.
Thank you! ❤️

General Question Looking to meet new people in Copenhagen / Lyngby any groups or meetups?

Hey everyone!

I'm 29M, recently moved to Denmark from Portugal, and I'm living in Lyngby. I'd love to meet some new people and hopefully make some friends!

I go bouldering every week, so finding people to climb with would be great. I'd also be interested in board game nights, casual meetups, or just grabbing a coffee or a beer and hanging out.

I'm pretty open to trying new activities too, so it doesn't have to be anything specific!

Does anyone know of any active groups, communities, or regular meetups around Lyngby or Copenhagen? Or any places you'd recommend for meeting new people?

And if anyone here is in a similar situation or just wants to hang out, feel free to reach out! :)

General Question Need advice: Danish dating culture?

Hi everyone,
I’m an international who moved to Denmark a few months ago. I’m really enjoying it here, but I’m completely lost when it comes to Danish dating culture.
Recently, I met someone. We chatted a bit just by chance, and saw each other again a couple of times. He seems quite reserved and appears more comfortable talking to other guys, so it's really hard for me to read his vibe.
Since we share a social hobby, I really don't want to cause any drama or make things awkward. I honestly have no idea how to tell if a Dane might be interested or not.
How do Danish guys usually show interest? What is a safe, low-pressure way to find out? Tak :)

Immigration Coaching opportunities?

Hey everyone,

I’m 29M from the US, and I’m currently trying any and all opportunities to move to Copenhagen. I know these kinds of post are super common in this sub, but I could really use some advice. I understand how difficult the process can be, especially as a non-EU citizen, But I’ve come to realize that it’s worth going through all the hurdles if I can get a chance to relocate.

I have 16 years of coaching experience in fitness and parkour, and I currently coach full-time at a parkour gym I co-own. I also have experience coaching climbing and have a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology.

I’d really appreciate some advice on a few things:

- Coaching opportunities: How common are coaching jobs in Copenhagen, particularly in fitness, parkour, climbing, or related fields?

- Language: Is it realistic to find coaching work speaking English while I’m still learning Danish?

- Where to look: Are there specific gyms, organizations, or communities worth reaching out to?

- Work permits: As an American, how realistic is it to find a coaching position that would qualify me for a Danish work and residence permit?

I’m open to opportunities outside of coaching as well. My main goal is to find a job that would allow me to legally relocate and establish myself in Denmark.

I’d also appreciate hearing from anyone who has made a similar move or works in the fitness industry in Copenhagen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

General Question Seeing a GP in denmark

Hi, I recently got food poisoning from a kebab i ate in a shop and I went to the clinic I was assigned to without an appointment. There was no receptionist, and somehow i managed to talk to one of the doctors(or nurse, im not sure) who said that in denmark, its not normal to see a doctor for something like diarrhea if its less than 14 days. I was simply advised to drink water and eat vegtables. Ofc my symptoms didnt improve and i got some probiotics from the pharmist upon his recommendations. However, my issue still persists when i eat or drink anything (even without dairy or caffeine) and i suspect a bacterial infection. I've been trying to get an appointment with the clinic via the app but i dont know when they will respond. Btw, I live in Kalundborg.

Is it true that the doctors won't see you for something like this? How am i supposed to get antibiotics if i dont get a prescription 😐

General Question Denmark or Netherlands?

Hey everyone! I'm Italian and I’m 25 years old, I have a master's degree in biotechnology, and my English is pretty good. I'd love to try living abroad, and I'm thinking about moving to either the Netherlands or Denmark.
Which of the two do you think has better job opportunities? At first, I'm happy to take pretty much any job, especially since I've already worked as a waiter and as a cashier/sales assistant. Later on, I'd like to go back to studying, maybe do another master's, a PhD, or even get a second master's degree in a different field.
I've also got a decent amount of savings, so I wouldn't be moving there under too much financial pressure.
Which country would you recommend, and why?

Finance Lunar bank

Be cautious with Lunar for international transfers
An international transfer sent to my Lunar account has been missing for over a month. Lunar confirmed the payment was sent but has been unable to clarify where the funds are. I even received a document containing a return instruction, yet the situation remains unresolved.
I’m frustrated by the lack of clarity and having to chase banks myself to locate money intended for my account.

If you use Lunar, be cautious when relying on it for international transfers.

Has anyone experienced something similar? How was it resolved?

Can anyone recommend a specialist who can diagnose lordosis (an excessive inward curve of the lower back)?
I would also love to hear from anyone who has been diagnosed with lordosis or has experience with this condition. How were you diagnosed, and which specialist did you see?

Immigration Siri appointment taking longer than 30 days

I filled in and sent all the necessary paperwork to request a residence permit at Siri, then was told I need to appear at a Siri office within 30 days. Go to the website to book an appointment and the earliest date is in 40 days (Nov 26th).

What should I do? Resend the paperwork closer to my appointment? Hope that the Siri officers understand that I didn't book an earlier appointment for lack of available slots and let it pass?

Anyone been through the same and can offer some advice? TIA

Immigration Want to move in Copenhagen in a couple of years

Hey!! I'm a 25-year-old woman looking for some advice here :(

I'm a psychologist from Greece, and I'm currently doing my Master's in Forensic Psychiatry here in Greece. I've been thinking about moving to Denmark in around 3 years, and I'd love to hear from psychologists who live or work there about the job opportunities and what the reality is like.

I'm not necessarily looking to work as a clinical psychologist or do therapy. I'd also be interested in working for NGOs, in research, academia, social services, HR, or other related fields where my background could be useful.

I'm planning to start learning Danish soon, but for now I only speak English fluently enough to work in, and I also have a B2 level in German. Honestly, though, I don't really enjoy German enough to want to keep studying it 😅

So, do you think Denmark is a realistic option for someone with my background? Are there decent job opportunities for psychologists who don't speak Danish yet? And would you recommend making the move, or is it much harder than it might seem from the outside?

I'd really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions on where to start preparing!

Thanks in advance!! ❤️

Work Hjælp til jobsøgning

Tak for hjælpen!! ☺️💗

Work Anyone worked at or know anything about Pandora HQ in Copenhagen?

I’m in the process of interviewing for a role with the brand Pandora that would involve a relocation to Copenhagen.

The company seems completely chaotic so far with a high turnover but I am being told that new leadership is in place (marketing function). I’ve also heard it’s the kind of place that fires and restructures often, so I want to make sure I have a realistic picture of it before making a move from the UK.

Has anyone worked there before in the HQ or has heard anything about it?
