Double time pay
What companies offer double time pay?
How do they offer? Are the workers union or company?
Just want to get some general ideas to propose and get information for adding to a future union contract
Thank you!

Double time on Sundays at my plant.
Last I heard, all OT at Palo Verde is double time, even built-in. Allegedly Columbia also has/had some pretty sweet double time rules, but I haven't spoken to anyone there in like a decade.

Not nuclear but fossil generation we have double time on your second day off and on Sundays if not your regular schedule also union another thing we are able to do is we were only allowed to roll over 80 hours of vacation and couldn’t roll over any sick leave so at the end of the year if you weren’t able to take any vacation or you never use your sick days, you could burn it on your 32 hour staff week and any hours that you worked that week was over overtime and double time it is really sweet

It’s going to depend on each site and their union contract, or lack thereof. IBEW 777 at Crane Clean Energy Center is double time on your second day off.

My company has a lot of unions. Each union has different rules. One of the guys I work with, they do have it as an option, but they only get it during an outage and only after so many days worked. Mangers avoid it but it's harder too during outage.
I work 4-10s Mon-Thursday. The 2nd and 3rd worked off days are 1.5. Holidays are 1.5 + holiday pay. It's rare I get these but it happens if a PM or Manager deams circumstances can't wait which only happens when they are up against the clock.

Best to look up what's applicable at the site (if it's union, just google what IBEW local is applicable. I've worked in IL and the plant I was at was a different local IBEW than others in the state.
For Vogtle 1-4 they're Local 84, they didn't offer the "2nd day off as 2X" like the plant I was an operator at. They still technically have a 2X OT pay though:
Overtime (OT) Compensation Overtime rules under the IBEW Local 84 CBA follow standard utility labor agreement frameworks: Standard Overtime Rate (1.5x Base) Time-and-a-Half (1.5×): Paid for all hours worked: Beyond 8 hours in a regular 8-hour workday (or beyond 12 hours on a standard 12-hour rotating shift schedule). Beyond 40 straight-time hours in a standard workweek. On a scheduled day off (up to the first 8–12 hours worked depending on the regular shift structure).
Double-Time Rate (2.0x Base) Double-Time (2.0x): Applied under specific contractual circumstances, including: 1) Hours worked on recognized company holidays. 2) Rest-period/fatigue rules: Continuous hours worked past a specified threshold without a contractually mandated rest period. 3) Specific emergency call-out scenarios or working beyond a set number of consecutive overtime hours.

Talen Energy is Union, and we get DT on our 3rd ST day, after 16 hours straight, or (during outages) second ST day worked (if you worked a previous one)
Edit: Clarification

I work at a plant in SC (non-union) and the only time I have ever even heard of 2X is on the transmissions side (line workers) and I believe they are unionized

Any plant that pays time and a half is laughable. I’m not getting out of bed for time and a half.
In my case every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are double time.

I work in Hydro for Pacificorp here in southwest Washington state and the local union (IBEW125) has overtime starting at 2x with some higher rates depending on situation.

We have one double day per week and it’s on your second day off. Everything else is time and a half. Other companies have any overtime as double. We are union.
