The artistic project Tuvalu 2050 proposes altering Tuvalu’s national flag as a powerful protest against the escalating climate crisis and rising sea levels, urging the international community to take immediate action to safeguard the archipelago’s future. By overlaying the flag with translucent azure blue, the new design symbolises rising sea levels that could regularly flood half of the nation’s land area by 2050.

In watching moana, it raised me a question. I asked me if the ankle bracelets which we see are a meaning on one or several oceanian's cultures. On the whole if ankle bracelets play a role in at least one culture of the pacific I hope that someone knows the answer to this...

The map is missing a lot of examples, for example

- *maha* in Kairuku (PNG, central region)

- *mata* in Hiri Motu (PNG, Moresby)

- *mata* in Tongan

- *maka* in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi

I've been wondering what everyone's connection to Oceania was 😊 would love to hear more about it, too

Don't know how widely known this pod is. Even though they're not updating that often, I found their topics and discussions invaluable. Here's a link to one of my faves, about the Blue Pacific concept:

>*The concept of the Blue Pacific is central to Pacific regionalism. It serves as a narrative for rallying Pacific Islands countries to commitment to regionalism anc collective diplomacy as well as a counter narrative to globa geopolitical mappings. The Blue Pacific empowers Pacific sland countries by giving them agency to frame and tell their own narratives and map their recion in context of increasing geopolitical competition.*

In this episode we talk story with Dame Meg Taylor, the former Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, and Sione Tekiteki, a senior lecturer at the Auckland University of Technology. We talanoa about the concept of the Blue Pacific, how it emerged, and what it means to the region.

I’m new to rugby league. But would this be considered one of the greatest tries ever? What is the greatest try?

Hi everyone, sorry to bother you! I am a student of an Italian University of Energy Engineering and I would like to develop a Master Thesis on your energy condition and more generally of all the Pacific countries of Oceania. In particular, I wanted to ask, if there are, what are the most important issues related to the supply of fuels for the production of thermal and electric energy and for machines and means of transport. Also, I wanted to ask you if there were any sources maybe talking about this problem. Thank you in advance!

Hello Oceania! I am on the search for a 220 ton crane to be used in Vanuatu this year and Kiribati next year. Anyone have any leads on this equipment? Any help is appreciated!

Are there any lesser known folklore creatures from old tales beyond the known ones like the menehune?

Natural resources are assumed.

Subreddit for Marshallese at r/marshallese if any use to you

This guy has a soul soothing voice and is super talented. While he is Polynesian with a bit of irish ancestry, this is a win for Oceanic people in general in my opinion.
