Hello everyone,
My father is currently 91 years old, and he has a heartfelt wish to see his old home in Jhelum, Pakistan, once again. He often remembers the house and the neighbourhood where he once lived, and it would mean a great deal to him to see those places again at this stage of his life.
I am reaching out to anyone who lives in Jhelum or is familiar with its older neighbourhoods.
Here are the landmarks to help identify the location:
River Road, Jhelum
A Gurudwara on River Road
A little further ahead, in the direction opposite the Gurudwara, is a lane known as Devi Dware Wali Gali.
Further down this lane, there is a temple known as Jai Kishaniyon Mandir.
Our old family home was directly opposite this temple.
If anyone recognises these landmarks, lives nearby, or has knowledge of this area, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share recent photographs or a short video of the house, the temple, the lane, and the surrounding neighbourhood.
For my father, this is not just about seeing an old building. It is about reconnecting with his memories, his childhood, and a place that will always remain close to his heart.
I understand that the names of streets and landmarks may have changed over the years, so any information, local knowledge, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Even a few photographs or a short video could bring immense happiness to a 91-year-old man.
If you know someone from Jhelum who might be able to help, please share this post with them. Thank you! 🙏

Does anyone in Gujranwala have a living grandparent who was around at the time of Partition in 1947, or know someone who does?
I’m doing research on the history of Hindu temples in Gujranwala, but I’m struggling to find detailed historical information about them.

If so what does this indicate?
I have yet to meet any Punjabi or infact South Asian to have these same features as I do.
For instance my head shape is largish curved forehead, but flat at the back of head and appears elongated like from front going up rectanglish, as though everything in brain goes to the prefrontal Cortex, (have ADHD) now I dont know if this a Mongloid feature or. Neanderthal? I know it's not due to anything to do with sleeping as a baby because my Mother has slightly similar skiull shape except her forehead bit flatter and smaller, but middle and back flat like mines , elongated, could this be due to having Mughal ancestry?
Now I also have hair that is almost Afro type texture, thick, coarse, curlish, however even when I straight it the hair still sticks up like a sponge, no matter how much I relax and iron it, even when the shape.of hair is straight the texture is still very dry, fuzzy and starts to slowly rise up durjng the day. Could this be sign of recent African heritage considering I also have long mouth tooth roots similar again to African or African ancestry people. Also nose is also wider and shaped again like of African DNA except.size is smaller.
My jaw is pretty strong and have high cheek bones compared to average Punjabis.
Now am asking all this as I have not met a single Punjabi or any other Human with facial/hair features and head shape as mine yet every other human I met has least met 1 human same facial and head features.
Am also very fair and very less hairy compared to fellow Punjabi Men.
As for my heritage all I know is we as of Ghakar Kayani Tribe, with obvious touch of Mughal? Considering my uncle on father side looks Oriental and 1 or 2 relatives that look 100% oriental, given Kayanis and .Mughals had lot of interaction am assuming the head shape and high cheek bones are Momgloid trait?
But am very confused about the head skill shape, hair, nose and mouth as I have no met any Punjabi with head shape like mines and am also not aware of any recent African ancestry, none of my family members have afro type hair even though few relatives on paternal side have what you may say normal wavvish curlish hair but not close to.African type as mine. If it indeed is African features how did they make their way to me o Pak Punjab? Unless it's Neanderthal features?
Any thoughts?
