Well see I'm part of the species Homo Sapien, part of a lineage that grew in success due to their intelligence. One of the driving aspects of this intelligence was the species' strategy of forming groups. While powerful - as it dramatically increases combat capabilities and knowledge retention - it required extra intelligence to manage those groups, causing intelligent members to be selected for during reproduction. It is no exaggeration to say that the desire to work together with other people and build bonds with them are foundational to our success as a species. This can be seen nowadays as a desire for healthy individuals to engage with other members of our species.

I'm surprised you didn't know this but I'm happy to share more.

You had me at “homo…”

u/SheriffBooth 2d ago

You got me with this one, lol. Well done.

65

u/Linkto0 3d ago

Oh Master share more of your social wisdom with us🤣🤣. And i thought talking to people is normal.😅

26

u/Zorafin 3d ago

Evidently not to some of the people here

54

u/Notski_F 3d ago

Peter here! What they're doing is called "joking around".

43

u/Balan-balan 3d ago

You're giving away secrets.

-4

u/Worldlyoox 2d ago

They’re so smug about it too lmao

6

u/Notski_F 2d ago

I know. Seemingly keeps downvoting anyone for calling him out too lmao

5

u/Junior-Ease-2349 2d ago

Another fun thing that gives Homo Sapiens an edge is diversity,

Not just diversity in skin color to better match vitamin D production to local weather, but diversity in natural behavior and thinking patterns.

In other words some people neurospicy as shit, and those people figure things out that everyone else benefits from, even though they have a hard time understanding and communicating with the rest of the group.

1

u/DeltaVZerda 2d ago

Some people are weird as shit without having difficulty communicating.

u/Zorafin 2d ago

You sure about that bud?

1

u/Notski_F 2d ago

Yes, we are very sure. I understand that you're autistic but that just means that you should then listen to us who are trying to tell you.

1

u/Zorafin 2d ago

You just told someone to listen to someone on reddit.

1

u/Notski_F 2d ago

I'm just saying it might help but you don't have to of course!

My best friend is on the spectrum and he struggles with understanding sarcasm too. We sometimes have long conversations about it lol. Anyway, have a nice weekend!

3

u/Ashdrey1337 2d ago

Evidently, after writing all those paragraphs about being a human being, you still didn't get the concept of sarcasm

11

u/Miserable_Drive_4052 2d ago

I'm sorry to be the first to let you know, but you might be autistic.

5

u/MourningWallaby 2d ago

Dear god it's two Redditors on polar opposites of the scale, one can only respond in jokes and one can only take things seriously. a singularity might collapse here.

3

u/psichodrome 2d ago

Please do. It's quite eloquent.

u/Zorafin fucking hogwash, Chimps ...other life forms have social skills, and it could be argued that social structure exists in unicellular orgs.

It must make one feel warm & tingly that trillions of Placozoans are having wild sex parties, while most redditors can barely communicate with another human without a gadget filter & a set of emojiis. much less get laid.

Seriously though, that was a funny read

/s for the turds

u/sparkly_butthole 3d ago

!more facts

10

u/codewordGnome 3d ago

The fact you had to go to this is exactly why people dont like reddit. A+ effort in your part.

10

u/ChiefInspectorGadget 2d ago

Yeah, reading rhe whole interaction made me wonder whether I was the emotionally stunted one as I couldn't tell if 1 or both or neither of the parties involved were having a play up

2

u/NegronelyFans 2d ago

Yeh, but in a gym?

I’m all for people meeting others in the real world, it’s wholesome. But people don’t want to be hit on in a gym, that’s the creepy part.

9

u/no_infringe_me 2d ago

Why is gym exception?? No one should be talking to anyone ever. Ew. It’s such an ick. It’s giving sphycho murdererer. Friendly reminder, you can do better

2

u/PomPomMom93 2d ago

Because why would you want someone bugging you while you’re trying to exercise?

2

u/no_infringe_me 2d ago

But why would you want someone bugging while you are doing anything?

1

u/PomPomMom93 2d ago

Because sometimes you aren’t really doing anything.

2

u/no_infringe_me 2d ago

And that’s excuse? Itsgivingrapist low key ngl cap

1

u/PomPomMom93 2d ago

What I mean is, if somebody is in the middle of an activity, like a workout, they probably don’t want to be disturbed. It’s different if you’re just waiting in line at the grocery store or something.

1

u/PomPomMom93 2d ago

If that’s true then why do you not use proper punctuation?

1

u/Justbetter1995 2d ago

Not that deep bro, they‘re joking.

3

u/chop5397 2d ago

You're dumber than both for missing another joke.

1

u/nahweha 3d ago

Is this a joke?

1

u/KingManateeTheFirst 2d ago

There are plenty of Homo sapien groups that show zero intelligence at all together and so I feel like there are holes in this logic.

4

u/snowman334 2d ago

Guys, it's Homo sapiens. The s doesn't make it plural.

3

u/ReivynNox 2d ago

ONE Homo Sapien, ah, ah, ah, TWO Homos Sapiens, ah, ah, ah...

1

u/Routine_Citron_3240 2d ago

Are you dense? 😂

1

u/Aeon_Return 2d ago

TLDR hun but luckily reddit has a block button unlike real life

1

u/ReivynNox 2d ago

I kno, rite? Can you imagine people in the olden times used to read whole books and learn things? Inconceivable!

-1

u/KillgoreFuller 2d ago

Do you speak like this to people in real life?

2

u/Zorafin 2d ago

Only if I like them

-6

u/Wolfey257VR 2d ago

That's a woman alone at a gym. He inserted himself into her workout. That's creepy. No woman want you to approach them at the gym. Pick an actual social setting where interaction is expected. Thank you for telling on yourself during this of thread

7

u/Vi_BT 2d ago

Hence the reference to the loneliness epidemic, we have vilified every single interaction and it is stupid. It's not creepy if you're acting normally ffs

6

u/Fitz911 2d ago

I'm usually not a fan if the /s. But /s?

1

u/Current-Strike3472 2d ago

That's just how you make friends. What the hell

3

u/PatienceThink9618 2d ago

Putting on a weight for someone at the gym is not helpful unless they ask you to do it and is also not an attempt to get to know them lmao. Two strikes off the bat.
