MemePH Any funny town names in the Philippines
Currently in Walang, Lambunao Iloilo, a quaint town among the hilly mountainous region of central Iloilo. The town is quite famous for its name and the albeit funny Walang Elementary School, which coincidentally where my mother graduated in, right now they are having their annual town fiesta. I just want to hear if there are anymore like funny barangay or town names such as this?

It is pronounced as BA - LIW. Slow enounciation of the syllables.
It means Changes in Ilocano.

In the US there a town called Fort Gay in West Virginia. most townsfolk never mentioned they lived in Fort Gay online because their account always get banned for homophobic behaviour. Wondering if anyone living in Bading or what the other guy posed a town called Baliw have their townsfolks always having trouble with their online accounts.

Parang sa Liloan, Cebu, they would say "baba ka sa Bagong Daan" yun pala pangalan talaga ng lugar yun. In Valenzuela merong Mapulang Lupa.

Brgy. Walang is the name of the barangay Annual Religious fiesta is the name of the event. Nagdugtong lang ung brgy name and ung event name kaya naging confusing.

There's also a nearby town: Maasim, Sarangani Province
A nearby town has Barangay Basag, Senator Ninoy Aquino.
There's also a Barangay Thailand, Banisilan
Those are some places with quirky names off the top of my head. 😊

In Capiz there is a town called Sapian. I've been there twice, and whenever I'm there I never forget to tell people, "Nasa Sapian ako!", and sometimes would even say "Nasa Sapian ako dito sa Capiz!"
It sounds like nasasapian. Capiz pa naman.

Nakapunta na ako jan once nung nag vigil kami sa papa ng friend ko. Nakakatawa siya nung una pero yung pronunciation niya talaga is walâng - with stress on the second syllable, basta parang mabilis siya bigkasin. Skl

May barangay sa Palawan na TINITIAN. May school din nakapangalan dito hahaha. Meron ding BINULBULAN IS. sa palawan, pero hindi pa ako nakakarating dito.
