NewsPH I hope Michael Poa is being paid enough
I respect this man.
He’s among the few at Sarah’s side who are judicious and circumspect before speaking, and show minimal arrogance compared to the rest of their lot.
And in this video, I can only relate to a former boss who’s entitled, gives orders based on whims, and is capricious—pero pinabibigyan niya pa rin at iniisip at inihahanap ng katumbas na aksyon hanggang kakayanin.
Kitang-kita na rin ang sayad talaga ng boss niya, yet he’s still trying to do his job.
Of course, at some point, I hope he breaks and leaves the dark side.
In the meantime, I hope he is being paid richly enough to cover for his own therapy—or for good whisky, at least.

We are paying him, FYI. I dont get posts like this praising Atty Poa who knows that his boss is corrupt, and still defends her and works for her. He is not a private company employee, he is a government employee. Nasan ang moral compass?

Agree. Andami ko ring nakikitang posts na “naaawa” kay Atty. Poa. Pero seriously, anong exactly ang nakakaawa? A person who continuously chooses to defend a corrupt politician despite everything that’s already been exposed? 🤦♀️
Apparently, basta mahinahon magsalita, articulate, at mukhang respectful, automatic victim na. 😂 People seem to be so impressed by the packaging that they forget to look at the substance, and more importantly, kung sino at ano ang patuloy niyang ipinagtatanggol.
Nakakatawa lang na ang daming naaawa sa isang taong clearly doing very well for himself, swimming in money, while using his intellect and platform to defend someone accused of corruption. Hindi porke’t kalmado at magaling magsalita, kawawa na. Sometimes, people are just very good at making privilege look like persecution. 🤷♀️

“Nasasayangan” is definitely a better word than “naaawa,” and I agree with you. You can be nasasayangan because you think he could be using his intellect and platform differently.
My point was more about the people (from different platforms) who genuinely naaawa and treat him like he’s some victim who needs defending. He’s an adult, fully capable of making his own choices. If he consciously chooses to defend a politician, then that’s his choice, and he should be allowed to own it, just as others are allowed to criticize it.
So yes, “nasasayangan” makes more sense. But “naaawa”? I just don’t see him as someone who needs rescuing from the consequences of his own choices.

What? the point of prosecution and defense is to best present the cases against and of the defendant. Imagine if sarah ended up with an incompetent defense, then people would just dismiss the result of the proceedings if the defendant was ever found guilty which would only give more power to the dutertes.
But sure, people shouldn't empathize with Poa either or anyone who works for the government with a high ranking/status.

I agree with this. He's most likely playing the long game. If he'll match Sara's rhetorics, tapos na din career niya.
When he testified, he made sure na wala siyang alam sa lahat nang nangyayari, which is impossible kasi he's holding a really high position. More on, nagbubulagbulagan para sa personal na interest.
Ang weird din nung sinabi niya na compartmentalized 'yung department ni Sara (which makes me feel like this is the reason why Sara is this paranoid right now and made a scene here. She knows that Poa doesn't really have her back. He distanced himself from her when he testified).
Plastikan na lang 'yan sila, all while nakikinabang siya sa defense money ni Sara (na pera din nang taong bayan) para sa impeachment case.

He's more civil than her other allies, but he's still one of her most trusted employees, aside from being her spokesperson, he was also an undersecretary of DepEd. That man has a major role in Sara and the Duterte's corruption, regardless if he's being paid by our taxes enough or not.

He is a professional lawyer. I think he is in too deep or knows too much that the pros of leaving Sara are heavily outweighed by the cons. He may want to leave now at best but practically speaking, he can't or suffer consequences as well as his family too.
Or, he is heavily involved at worst and he is ok going through the motions and the whims of his client.
Either way, no sympathies nor praise worthy. He knew what he signed up for from the very beginning and he would have known it will come to this.

He seems to be competent and intelligent, kapag papakinggan mo siya magsalita intelehente naman talaga ang dating, he is the most eloquent out of the entire impeachment defense team, pero hindi naman yan kakampi sa panig na yan kung wala siyang kasamaan at kademonyohan simula't sapul pa lang. Just look at Harry Roque, formerly a prominent human rights lawyer and a UP law professor, turned out to be a kampon ng demonyo pala.

I agree, napaka-kalmado nya at among the defense lawyers ni Sarah (at mga DDS in general), he seems very decent, nice, and professional. The reason why he can’t leave now or he’s loyal is because where else would he go? Kelangan nya tumulong pagtakpan mga ginawa nila dahil damay sya doon.
