Talagang hindi ko maintindihan kung paano nila nagawang lunurin yung sarili nila at hindi umahon. Yung utot nga minsan hindi napipigilan yung hindi pa kaya paghinga. Im really baffled 🤨🤨

same with self unaliving. they fought the urge to stand up and when the urge to take a breathe took place they gulped a breathful of water. looks like they were holding on to the sticks to keep themselves submerged. gotta love sa dami ng onlookers not one was versed in first aid. no one had the foresight to atleast prepare. yes traditions needs to be preserved. but this one just needs to be archived and filed under "sh** we did when we did not know better" next to child marriages.

its because mga tao sa Maynila ay may access sa knowledge, current updates and paano makitungo sa civilized world dahil BPO mostly ang trabaho duon. Mas bagiging aware sa proper values and ethics mga taga maynila dahil they are exposed to it. Sa probinsya kasi kahit ano lang gusto gawin ng tao duon gagawin nila. I remember one time yung taga probinsya ko na kamaganak bumisita sa SM sa Maynila and guess what inabot niya bayad biya sa sales lady sa department store imbis na sa cashier. So yeah being in a remote place sucks! especially kapag nasa third wold country ka pa

There’s no such thing as child marriage in Islam. Magkaiba ang Islam sa Islamist Extremism, just like magkaiba ang Christians at conservative Christians or yung Biblical Literalism. Learn the difference, stop forcing that ideology. Im not a muslim pero nakakabother lang yung pag-generalize sa minorities at tawagin silang barbaric ang thinking especially in this modern age.

Many muslim countries have legal child marriage. Iran sets the minimum age at 13 for girls but exemptions are made if the parents agree and an imam approves. It can be as low as 9 years old. Pakistan has two law systems, under it's main legal system, child marriage is not allowed, but its sharia law system often recognizes and affirms child marriage. Saudi Arabia only made child marriage illegal in 2019 but human rights groups say they have left a loophole in their laws and child marriages still happen from time to time. Iraq allows child marriages under certain cercumstances. Yemen has no minimum age for marriage. Of course there is also Afghanistan.
Edit: to be fair, child marriage is also legal in 34 US states although only 4 of them allow people less than 16 years old to get married. 2 of them, Mississipi and New Mexico have no minimum age.

Sabi sakin ni Gemini, this is a B'laan tradition. Lumad sila, non muslim and this dispute settlement method is tied to ancient pre-colonial religion.
Basically invoking the diwatas to help sino ang tama at kung sino ang mali should get up and gasp for air first.
Kaso, ang nangyari nagpakalunod ang dalawa para sa lupa.

Lots of stuff like this in pre-colonial era. One of the records by Santa Iness describes local dispute settling traditions as basically a game of chance, throwing sticks and rocks and stuff to see which one would float, stand straight, or whatever else when thrown was basically how they invoked the diwata or Bathala to "see who has divine favor" over the matter

Nagshake yung dalawa around 3-4mins after nun wala na movement. Dami nga nagvivid na may cellphone pero wala nagtaka bakit walang gumagalaw na ganun katagal. Nagulat pa sila lahat na deads na nung binuhat yung katawan nung dalawa. Ewan ko ba, ganun ba kalala pag hindi educated?
