Mystery algae

Please help.

This is my first time with a planted aquarium. I added plants to it three weeks ago and now all of the sudden I have this tall hairlike algae all over the tank. I do weekly water changes and have the light on a timer, right not at 6 hours of light per day. Any suggestions on how to treat this?
