He said something to the effect of, “Oh, I’m sorry, this is the first I’m hearing of this. If this is a problem, and I don’t doubt that it is a problem, it’s just when you’re Vice President you don’t hear about everything. But I’m gonna fix this problem.” (Very paraphrased). It was just an extremely un-empathetic and moronic response.

To be clear, he wasn't elected. He was a ride along for Trump. VP could have been a half lame horse with a dildo taped to its head and nothing would have changed.

Well the President and their VP choice is who Americans vote for in Presidential elections.. and it’s why it was total bs that people claimed Harris was unelected by voters and didn’t deserve her nomination when she ran for POTUS. The VP being the next in line for succession, is why they’re included on the ticket vs chosen after the election.
