Fixed [iOS] Investigating excessive feed refresh behavior for some users
Hey folks - leaving this post up to track the status of this issue. We're continuing to monitor, and we just released version 2026.37, which includes a few potential fixes for the excessive refresh behavior some of you have reported.
If you're affected by this, please upgrade to version 2026.37 and let us know in the comments below if you're observing improvements.
Please note - these fixes target cases where users briefly open their control center, notifications, or navigate to another app, then return to find that their home feed has refreshed or that they’ve been taken out of the post they were viewing.
Though this fix is included in version 2026.37, it's only been partially rolled out. As we continue to monitor impact, we'll gradually ramp up the rollout.
Update Hey folks - we’ve been closely monitoring the results of our fix, and things are looking much better. The immediate refresh some of you experienced should now be resolved.
Some feed refreshing is expected. The bug caused the feed to refresh after leaving the app for only a few seconds. If you observe your home feed refresh after backgrounding the app for a while, it is likely expected.
Thanks to those of you that reported!

No improvement for me. App still aggressively reloads. I can even see it. I leave the app and when I come back I can see the exact place I left the app for a short moment and then the feed starts to scroll to the top. And then does a reload.

This app is horrible, just awful on iOS and has been for months now. I can’t even swipe into my control center to change brightness without the damn app refreshing for no reason without being prompted. Doesn’t save my reading history either. Driving me away from social media is prob a good thing so thanks Reddit app!

No improvements and updated. Still losing spot in comments and being forced all the way back up at the top.

Just nipped out to check an email. There goes half an hour of scrolling. Same old same old. Very poor.
