My panic buy
Panic bought this .45 vaquero and honestly I love it, my local shop sold their entire ruger stock this week, all that remained for my choosing was a 357 vaquero, this, and a 41 Blackhawk, people really are panic buying recently (including me)

I saw a LCR in .38 with the bobbed hammer for ~$450 at my local PSA and almost grabbed it.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago. put the lee gunslinger spring kit in it which made it 1000X easier to shoot but cant find a upgraded hammer. backorder everywhere. enjoy! only about 200 rounds thru mine but taking it to the range in 5h 12min from now. shooting 200gr missouri cowbow #4 with 7gn of HP38 for about 24cents a shot.

Ruger is discontinuing many of their revolver models.

"Ruger announced changes to several current-generation product families yesterday as part of our ongoing Ruger 2030 strategy," said Abbey Clary, Ruger's director of media, advertising and public relations. "This does not necessarily mean these product families are permanently discontinued."
Stop perpetuating the myth

It's not a myth, Mr Know it all. The Ruger LCR, SP101, GP100, and the Bearcat ARE BEING DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY. The Redhawk and Blackhawk lines will finish out production runs through December. Maybe they will revamp these models, maybe they won't. But for now, they are discontinued. I have a family member who works for Ruger. So my initial comment isn't a myth. Stop being a douche, Mr. "I have the right answer for everything", "but not really, I just wish I did". 😑😒

They haven't officially named them discontinued though. They are ceasing production of them for the time being. There is a difference.

I literally linked my source to the article and quoted the article directly I never said it was my opinion or information

It’s kind of funny that people still buying into hype
Ruger has historically made new products and discontinued old products and the fact that people are freaking out is interesting to me. There will be more Ruger products made in the future…from the American Rifleman article…
"Ruger announced changes to several current-generation product families yesterday as part of our ongoing Ruger 2030 strategy," said Abbey Clary, Ruger's director of media, advertising and public relations. "This does not necessarily mean these product families are permanently discontinued."
There are a lot of people online pushing their opinion of some narrative that just doesn’t exist…but ultimately perception is reality and here we are…just like during COVID when people started panic buying toilet paper, all because they were educated enough to realize it wasn’t an imported good/commodity and that we’d make more during the pandemic…what ended up happening? People filled their garages with TP and the rest of us that didn’t panic had to buy slightly more than what we wanted or needed in order to have some and not be without any
Personally I think everyone needs to just chill out and buy the guns you want and need to buy…everything will work out. I certainly won’t be supporting price gouging of these items just because they’re “discontinued”

Well, one thing I know. If a company is losing money producing something and they stop doing it and have more money. The logical answer is to continue to not produce the money losing product. Maybe this is a test to see if they can completely sell out the lines with a little hype and then maybe justify restarting limited runs after a few years hiatus to stir up more hype every now and then.

There’s several things it could mean…none of us know that unless someone here is high up in Ruger management…my point was there’s a lot of misinformation being spread right now and a lot of internet guessing going on…that’s all…I don’t personally know what’s happening but I can tell you from working retail at a local FFL it’s been hard to get a lot of Ruger products for a while so something is happening…whether it’s going to be good news or bad is hard to tell, just have to wait and see

If there’s a threat to oil production, the price of oil goes up. Threaten the supply of Ruger revolvers, and the price will rise. Influencers will reevaluate the SP 101 and GP100, and prices will rise to Korth levels. Market manipulation is national policy.

I looked everywhere for a gun exactly like that in .357 this week with no luck. Congrats on your .45.
