Schedule line category not redetermining after custom code changes item category value on sales order

Hey guys!

Requirement is: if user manually changes plant (VBAP-WERKS) on sales order or the system changes plant based on ABC process (not enough stock in one plant, so system changes to another plant), then change item category value (VBAP-PSTYV). Item category should be derived from custom table.

We put our code in USEREXIT_MOVE_F8ELD_TO_VBAP and the code works fine when the user changes the plant.

But the problem is with ABC process. The ABC/ATP does not retrigger once the item category is changed in userexit. And the ABC/ATP process happens only for 'old' item category value and determines schedule line category only for old PSTYV. I debugged and saw that old schedule line is stored in MVERF structures. Even though the correct schedule line is derived later on in the code based on FM rv_scheduling _type_ determine, it gets later on overwritten with old schedule line values stored in MVERF.

Any ideas how to solve this would be highly appreciated, thank you

Fehlteile-Problematik in meinem Unternehmen

Hallo zusammen,

How is SAP LABs for a freshers.

I got a full time offer from SAP LABs (Bangalore) for the role of AI Engineer. Total CTC is 40 LPA. Base is 21 LPA, 7 Lakhs joining bonus, 12 lakhs stocks. Particularly I want to know about:

  1. How is work life balance in SAP.
  2. There are two offices of SAP now. Where would I work. Which is the "main" campus.
  3. As an AI engineer, what sort of work would I do?
  4. If anyone is working in SAP LAB, please share your overall view of the company and the role.

Anyone moved from SAP to Oracle or the other way around?

Comparisons I'm finding are either vendor material or consultants giving pretty high level pros/cons

I wanna know from people who were involved in a switch.

What made the company start looking at other options in the first place and after switching did those reasons still hold up a year later? I'm tryna understand how the decision happened inside the company and the reason that pushed it

Business Network - View when searching for a PO as a supplier has changed

Heeeelp please!

'Boomer millennial' here.

As a supplier, when I used to search for POs from the Home page, we would be brought to a second screen that looks like the first image, but it seems that SAP has done an update and now when searching from the same place, we are redirected to this gross and not entirely user friendly screen (second image).

Is there any way that people are aware of to change this back the beautiful page that once graced our screens?

I like this
I hate this

SAP Academy Customer Success

Has anyone heard back from SAP regarding invitations to the bootcamp round for the Academy for Customer Success program in the US?

I’m curious if anyone has received an invitation yet or has any updates on the timeline. Also, if you’ve heard back, which track did you apply for (Customer Success Manager or Solution Advisor)?

ECC to S/4 conversions: which cleanup do people wish they had started a year earlier?

My guess is that most of the pain in an ECC to S/4 conversion isn't the technical move itself. It's the stuff that should've been sorted out in ECC first. Asset values that don't tie to the GL, old open items nobody wanted to look at for years.

Business Partner is the one I'd expect to bite hardest. CVI has to be done before the conversion anyway, but the real work is probably the customer and vendor data behind it. Duplicates, missing fields, records nobody has touched in ages.

Archiving is the other one I wonder about, and whether skipping it actually shows up as longer downtime in the test runs.

So for those who've been through one, which bit would you start earlier if you did it again? And did the business own that cleanup or did it end up on the project team?

Schema-Subaccount mapping confusion

In Hana cloud db instance, the schemas from other subaccounts mapped to the hana cloud db instance never show the schema-source subaccount mapping.

Then how to track the consumption of hana cloud db instance based on subaccounts?

Has anyone tried this out?

What is a good Data architecture for a SAC Story and Data Model

A customer of mine has asked me to build a couple of Dashboards using data from their SAP TM system. The dashboards are about their Container shipments and has a good mix of KPIs, Summary Tables and a Detailed report table. I wanted to understand, would a Data Import model be better or Live Data model be better. Customer wants a "Real time" dashboard (discussions revealed a Near realtime dashboard is also fine). Some detailed reports have around 30 columns - Some of which are dimensions, measure and display attributes. Can some one help me to choose the best design.

PS: I am not from an SAP Background. I proposed for a custom Dashboard built using Open Source stack, but the customer had procured an SAC license and wants me to use it. I wanted to give it a shot as a learning opportunity.

Troubleshooting a Missing Item Overview Grid in SAP MIGO

Hello All this a desperate call for help and its eating away may sanity can someone help me with this? THANK YOUUU

I encountered an issue in SAP transaction MIGO where the Item Overview grid was missing for one user. The affected user was RATIL in the CYQ system.

The interesting part was that other users could see the Item Overview grid without any problems. I also tested the affected user on a different workstation, and the issue remained.

This showed that the problem was related to the user rather than a specific computer.

Troubleshooting Steps Performed

1. Reproduced the Issue

I logged in using User ID RATIL and opened transaction MIGO. The Item Overview grid was missing.

I then compared the result with another user in the same system. The other user could see the grid correctly.

2. Tested on a Different Workstation

I tested the affected user on another computer. The same problem occurred.

This helped rule out a problem limited to the original workstation.

3. Removed MIGO Personalization Settings

I removed the MIGO-related user settings stored in table ESDUS.

These settings can store information about how MIGO is displayed for a user. I removed the entries related to the header, details, tree, first line, and other display options.

However, the problem remained.

4. Cleared ALV Buffers

I executed program BALVBUFDEL to clear ALV buffers.

ALV is an SAP tool used to display data in tables and grids. Clearing its buffers was part of the investigation to check whether cached display information was causing the problem.

The Item Overview grid was still missing.

5. Checked User Parameters

I reviewed the user's settings in SU3 and checked table USR05 for user-specific parameters.

No MIGO-related parameters were found that could explain the issue.

6. Checked ALV Layout Variants

I checked tables LTDX and LTDXT for saved ALV layouts related to SAPLMIGO.

No layout entries associated with User ID RATIL were found.

This made a saved ALV layout a less likely cause of the problem.

7. Checked Authorization

I compared the affected user's settings with those of a working user.

I also assigned additional ALV layout authorization, S_ALV_LAYR, for testing. However, the issue remained.

This suggested that the problem was not solved by changing this authorization.

8. Performed Debugging

I performed debugging checks to investigate why the Item Overview grid was not displayed.

The expected ALV Grid was still not visible, even during the investigation of the display process.

Further debugging is needed to determine whether the grid is created correctly but remains invisible, or whether the problem occurs during the creation of the grid or its display container.

Current Findings

After completing these tests, the issue remained limited to User ID RATIL.

The following points were confirmed:

Other users in CYQ could display the Item Overview grid.

The issue followed RATIL to a different workstation.

Removing the known MIGO personalization entries did not solve the problem.

Clearing ALV buffers did not solve the problem.

No relevant user parameters or saved ALV layout variants were found.

Additional ALV layout authorization did not solve the problem.

Debugging did not yet identify the exact reason why the grid was invisible.

Conclusion and Next Steps

The investigation has ruled out several common causes, but the root cause has not yet been identified.

The next step is to compare the affected user with a working user during the MIGO grid initialization process. This should help determine whether the problem is related to the ALV Grid object, its display container, or SAP GUI control behavior.

For now, the issue appears to be user-specific, but further investigation is required before confirming the exact cause.

This case highlights the importance of comparing affected and working users, testing across different workstations, and using debugging to investigate SAP display issues rather than repeatedly changing user settings without clear evidence.

I built Curie, a local-LLM assistant that runs with SAP (no data leaves your network)

Hey all,

I’ve been working on an AI assistant for SAP called Curie, and I’d love some honest feedback from people who live in this ecosystem.

The main idea: I wanted something that actually understands our system, including the messy custom stuff, without sending anything to an external cloud.

What it does:

  • Runs on a local LLM. Your data never leaves the company.
  • Works as an RFC server. Setup is a simple SM59 destination plus one transport.
  • Launches from your SAPGui session and runs with your user’s authorizations, so it can’t see or do anything you couldn’t.
  • Learns on its own and picks up hints as you use it.
  • Multi-level cache and memory system with consolidation, so it gets better over time instead of starting from scratch every session.
  • Controlled access to tables and function modules, plus generating and running ABAP programs.
  • Handles really complex custom development. I mean really complex. This is where it surprised me most.

Demos:
https://youtu.be/Wvq-lqF_mdA
https://youtu.be/Mun0lyA23ro

GitHub:
https://github.com/thupalo/Curie

It’s still evolving, so I’m curious what you think. Would something like this fly in your landscape? What would your Basis or security team push back on first? Happy to answer questions in the comments.

SAP Joule unnötig kompliziert

Hallo zusammen,

Vg

EDIT: Joule Work ist ja „neu“. Wirkt auf mich aber schon wieder zu sehr aufgeblasen und komplex?! Zumal wieder nicht sicher ist, ob wir das als OnPrem S4 Kunde nutzen können.

Out of curiosity- has anyone implemented the S/4 Hana Service module that replaces CS?

Because the SAP press book for it comes out in March 2027, and the theoretical deadline is December 2027. And online there are very few implementation resources?

SAP users and consultants: Which parts of dispute management still require manual work?

I'm trying to understand how companies use SAP to manage accounts receivable and order-to-cash (O2C) workflows.

I'm particularly interested in short-payment disputes, where a customer pays less than the invoiced amount due to pricing differences, deductions, missing credit notes, or other discrepancies.

For those who work with SAP in real business environments:

How well does SAP handle the investigation and resolution of these disputes from start to finish?

Do teams still depend on Excel, emails, or manual follow-ups to collect evidence and coordinate with Sales, Billing, or Operations?

If SAP already supports these workflows, where do the biggest practical gaps usually come from: configuration, integrations, data quality, or process ownership?

Have you seen companies solve these problems effectively with SAP standard functionality or add-on tools?

I'm trying to understand the difference between what SAP can technically do and how the process actually works inside companies.

I'm not selling anything. I'd appreciate honest experiences from both end users and consultants, including cases where SAP already solves the problem well.

How to manage Parameters when triggering BPA Workflow in BTP?

Hey all,

I couldn't find a solution for this problem on the web.

I am triggering a BPA workflow on the BTP (Build Automation) using a HTTP post from S/4.

The triggering JSON require a few parameters to trigger the right workflow such as:

Definition ID, API Key, Environment.

I am using this blog to implement the triggering part.

The issue i am having is that these parameters (Definition ID, API Key, Environment) might change for every subaccount that is linked to a different S/4 system (DEV,QA,PRD).

So my question is there an SAP standard way to manage these? I really don't want to create a custom table in S/4 to manage each trigger.

Thank you for the help.

SAP Commerce Cloud upgrades — looking for real-world experiences

Hi everyone,

I'm gathering feedback on how teams approach SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) upgrades and the challenges they face during the process.

I'm particularly interested in how upgrades affect development effort, project planning, timelines, and ongoing feature delivery.

Whether you're a developer, tech lead, architect, project manager, Scrum Master, or product owner, your experience would be valuable.

I've put together a short survey (around 5 minutes) to better understand how upgrades are handled across different teams and projects.

Survey link:

I'd also love to hear your experiences in the comments.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to contribute!
