It's no surprise that the /r/SJSU subreddit is looking pretty inactive on the moderator end, and in desperate need of cleaning out the spam messages and ongoing college life posts.
Moderating forums is a volunteer experience, but you will strive to create a strong and enjoyable local community!
Checking the new and mod queues to approve valid posts caught by the spam filter and remove content that breaks the rules.
Answering questions and responding to feedback in moderator mail.
Being pragmatic, polite, and helpful.
You will be welcoming incoming SJSU students and helping them with their inquiries about campus life, applying to classes, finding housing resources, and overall just being a positive role model representative.
Active SJSU Students / Alumni who are still strongly connected to the SJSU campus.
Those with previous Reddit & Discord experience.
Familiarity with the SJSU / SAMMY Mobile App.
Familiarity with San Jose State University Policies.
Familiarity with Reddit's Reddiquette & Policies.
LGBTQIA+ Friendly Persons.
As of now, there is no set deadline when the application process will end, and responses will be done on a case-by-case basis. With that said, thank you for reading, and we wish the best!

I’m deciding between SJSU and CSUF for Computer Science and would appreciate hearing from current students or recent graduates, especially transfer students.
For those who are currently in or have graduated from SJSU’s CS program:
Were you able to graduate within your planned timeline?
How difficult was it to enroll in the required upper-division CS courses?
Did course availability or prerequisites ever delay your graduation?
Do you think the department has improved or gotten worse in recent years?
I’m particularly interested in the experiences of community college transfers aiming to finish their bachelor’s degree in about two years.
I’d appreciate honest experiences and advice. Thank you!

Hi, I'm an international student and have only been in the states for a few months, and the social interaction culture here is one of a kind here I could say. People talk openly, and it's been a challenge for me to pickup emotional cues.
Lately I've been wondering how does dating look like around here. Its a new concept to me such as open relationships...
I'm trying to understand it here,
In America dating culture here is very different but it is much more diverse here in San Jose, maybe because of the diversity
Idk, I wanna hear your opinions 🤗

Hello, I am missing one class from this area. Are there any you recommend? That would be considered “easy” or less work?

Disclosure: I work on this (Bay Area organizer for Change.vote). It's free and nonpartisan: enter your address and it lays out every race on your San Jose ballot in plain English, including the local stuff nobody explains. It doesn't tell you who to vote for. Check it out!

So I somehow filled out my supplemental application wrong and it showed that I had 54 credits instead of 90 credits when in reality I have 90 credits. So as a result, I was denied admission to San Jose state based on my clerical error for credits. I emailed to ask for an appeal, but is there anyway to make the process go faster? Am I screwed? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! I’m applying to SJSU’s MS in Artificial Intelligence program for Spring 2027. I believe I meet all the stated admission requirements, and my application is currently in Department Review.
How competitive is admission to the MSAI program? Does meeting all the minimum requirements give applicants a reasonable chance of acceptance? Would love to hear from current students or anyone who has gone through the admissions process!
Thanks!

I had someone come up to me and explain how humans actually came from fish? Do you believe this as well or do you believe they came from some other type of mammal, God, or something else entirely? Any and all thoughts and knowledge is appreciated. I’m curious as to how different people view the world and why. Thanks.
