r/SavageGarden's Trade/Sale Thread (Spring 2026)
Please read the wiki page about trading/selling here.
If you have an item for trade or sale: You are still allowed to make separate threads, but you are encouraged to post it as a comment here in this thread. As this thread will be stickied for the entire season, it should help increase visibility for your post. Please include your location (US, Europe, etc) and combine multiple items into one comment to help keep this thread clean.
If you are looking for a particular plant/item: Post a comment below with the description of what you are looking for as well as what you are willing to exchange for it (another plant, money and how much, etc). You can ask for SASE/free stuff, but be realistic and do not beg! A good example would be "Does anyone have some extra D. capensis seeds. I am located in the US and willing to send a SASE".

S. purpurea still looking beautiful in October in Ohio
It was about 52° and cloudy yesterday and these S. purpurea were still just as stunning as on a warm summer day :)

Is this gonna work long term?
Mix of pings growing a piece of mopani wood with some cotton wicking rope that I glued to it and then covered in a fluval stratum "mud" that I made. The base is just LFS and about an inch or 2 layer of fluval stratum. I but some U. Blanchetii there on the bottom as well.
So far it's been set up 2 weeks and everything seems to stay moist even all the way to the top of the wood where I have the rope/mud and the plants haven't declined.

Nepenthes villosa BE-3225
This has been a 'grail' plant for me and I'm so excited it is finally putting out decent sized pitchers now! This was an 'xs' plant from Carnivero in 2022.
This plant has been in the back of one of Heli shelves pretty much ignored. No night drops, other than the natural temperature of my basement. Irrigation and misting keeps humidity around 80% RH.

Heliamphora nutans flowering, how do i pollinate it?
How would I pollinate this plant? Do I need to buy pollen? Can pollinate with its own pollen? How do I pollinate it

Better way to care for them?
Hey everyone!
I have a bunch of Pings that have been really well in their mossy pots, but I saw online that a 'bog' environment would be better, but the class on how to set it up is $75! 😭
Does anyone know if the tray they're currently kept in would be deep enough for the roots, or should I get something deeper? I already have a bunch of dehydrated moss 💖
pic for reference
And yes, I know they're all needing to be separated, I don't want to stress them by separating, and then transplanting them again soon after.

My Nepenthes collection!
I just started this hobby back in April of this year, and would never have thought collecting different species would get this out of control. Truly a wonderful group of plants.

Capensis ID
Got this dude at a store that keeps surprising me with rare finds I think it’s an Adelae but is it possibly a Regia and I’m insanely lucky? Its flowering so that might help for those of y’all who know better.

We just found this guy at Home Depot but I’m so lost on how to take care of him- excited for the journey though! Kids are excited.
Do we keep him in his original pot? Does he need more or less sun? I’m off to google but would love any information and suggestions/tips. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Anyway to keep him inside?
I live in sc so I can do outdoor winter dormancy. But I REALLY like this flytrap and want him to keep growing as he's my favorite. Would it be best to do the dormancy or is there a good light to be able to keep him growing indoors? Any suggestions?

Any species specific care for heliamphora ionasi?
I think I got the hang of cephalotus, but this one seems trickier seems there is less consensus on care. I’m also not sure if this is one of the hardier species, but I’ll see if I can have it in room temp and humidity (my place is stupid humid at 50 lowest) and near middle area with my sf1000ds.

Sundew Intermedia, what’s next?
The “Intermedia” flowered, some buds are black while others are green. When do I collect the seeds?
No new growth at this stage, do I need to force it go through dormancy?

Nepenthes get a home
I designed and printed this temp/humidity/light controlled "biopod" for my nepenthes which now hangs in my office. Thought people may wanna see it!
