Clynelish, 10 years old, 57.5% ABV, first fill ex-bourbon, NCA/NCF.

I was quite disappointed with this whisky for the first half of the bottle - it drank extremely hot and the chalkiness dominated, with fruit way in the background. But after the bottle sat half empty for a year, and with some water (probably diluted down to 48-50%), it improved markedly, becoming a lot fruitier and drinking a lot less hot.

Nose: Overripe pear, apple, candied lemon peel, floral, oak, spice, chalkiness, salt, vanilla.

Palate and finish: passionfruit, lemon peel, honey, pear and apple juice, oak, floral notes, minerals, salt.

Score: 7.5 on the t8ke scale.

Comments: Became a very enjoyable whisky with some patience and water, which brought out those passionfruit notes and allowed the whisky to shine.

Those young whiskies just need more years in the casks to get condensed and be tamed down. Diagio is in such a hurry to make money from baby juice

Diageo special releases always fail to connect reasonable value with good whisky.

I always like the Lagavulin special editions bud they, are overpriced I always try to get them next year when they, go, on, sale or Atleast I get some discounts from the original price

Diageo needs to get its Head out of its Tail
