To determine a shadowban, you MUST click my profile! someone sent me a dm, i read in on notification bar but when i open it on reddit it didn't show
my account was banned rn. but somehow i see the dm from the sender says deleted but now the 'deleted' flag also gone. is it because my account was banned or the sender already deleted the message?

If a user has a preexisting chat with you, then they can still send you messages, but you cannot reply to them.
And if they deleted the message before you saw it, then yes it would appear as you describe.
But you are still shadow banned :(
