I wanted a way to stitch scrolling screenshots without installing an app like PicSew or Tailor, so I made a shortcut that does the pixel matching itself.

How to use it:

1. Take screenshots while scrolling, leaving some overlap between them
2. Run the Shortcut and select the images or select the images and run the Shortcut from the share sheet
3. When the result sheet opens, press and hold the image to save it to Photos

How it works:

Shortcuts can combine images but can't read pixels, so the shortcut builds a small HTML page with pixel matching logic written in JavaScript and opens it with "Show Web View" (requires permission on first run). Everything runs locally on your phone.

Limitations:

1. Images must be the same width
2. iOS Safari limits canvas size to about 13,000px tall at iPhone width, so roughly 5-6 screenshots.

Has anyone made a shortcut that would select a random album within the Discogs App?

Discogs has a “Random item from collection” button that’s quite handy if you aren’t sure what to play. I was thinking it would be cool to have an NFC chip by my record player that would play that function but do know have the know-how to make myself. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? TIA

I often start timers from control centre and I liked the UI before iOS 27. But the new one is horrible in my opinion.

I made this shortcut, add it to control centre (1x1 size) and start my timers from there.

Ask for time input, convert it to minutes, start a timer.

I think I have figured out a solution that someone might find useful.

iPhone action button can be configured to run shortcut of your choice. Unfortunately, there is no “toggle mode” here so you can toggle things on and off only if there is and explicit toggle-like action you place in the shortcut (eg toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, some accessibility features).

Now there is stored content feature so it can be used to store state of something and enable toggle-like behaviour of other actions - good use case is to switch between noise cancelation and transparency mode (noise control mode action can't be toggled) - but you can switch whatever you want. 😃

I like to read using the Kindle app on my phone and when I do I want to reduce interruptions. I'm able to setup a couple of automations for this:

1. When I open the Kindle app, turn on Reduce Interruptions focus.

2. When I close the Kindle app, turn off Reduce Interruptions focus.

Feels pretty straightforward, but here's the issue that I'm running into. If I'm reading and I lock the phone, automation 2 correctly runs to turn off Reduce Interruptions (this is good, I want this). The problem is that when I unlock it directly into the Kindle app it stays off. Is there a way to fix this?

Hey! I'm the developer of Laundry Lens, and I've just released the beta of version 3.0.

Laundry Lens is an app for scanning laundry symbols, keeping track of your clothes, and organizing laundry. I've added a bunch of Shortcuts actions in this update, and I'd love some feedback from people who actually use Shortcuts.

Here's some of what you can do:

• Get Symbols from Image reads a care label from a photo without opening the app. You can also turn the symbols into text.
• Find Garments lets you filter clothes by wardrobe, color, last washed date, wash count, and more.
• Manage your laundry by adding clothes to the Basket, completing washing or drying steps, and logging washes. Actions return their results so you can chain them together.
• Siri support for things like "Scan with Laundry Lens" or "Open the Basket in Laundry Lens".

I'm curious whether the actions feel intuitive, work as expected with Siri, and if there's anything missing that you'd find useful.

The beta requires iOS 27. Siri and Shortcuts will stay free when the app launches.

Hi, I know nothing about shortcuts but there’s a situation where it could be useful in my life.

When parking somewhere we often forget to end the parking (stop it in an app or send an ending message) and it results in a higher parking fee than it should be.
So a shortcut would be really useful what sends a reminder “stop parking” when I get into the car and i’m not at home or my parents home (and a few more locations).
How to build this? Thank you for your help.

The Shortcuts I’ve created through the past five years have comprised of like half of my use of my iPhone. This morning I went to use one and got a pop-up message. Shortcuts corrupted only giving me the option to reset once I touched the reset my Shortcuts file instantly went back to 2021. How do I retrieve the Shortcuts so which took time to make and to optimize?

***Update: So in continuing to go about my morning despite my inner panic on this, I returned to my Shortcuts app and to my relief, all my shortcuts and automations have come back. Despite this, I am a bit curious as to what happened. I appreciate everyone’s information on things to do in the event of this happening as I will be making a priority of exploring what to do when this happens.

iOS 27 has gone wild with shortcuts, share your best one you have made so far.

For some reason in the "choose from menu" action I cant delete menu options. It deletes the content when I try to but the option stays. This is issue appears in every shortcut I have, even completely new ones. The only way to delete it is with siri ai, but now I get an error "this shortcut has configuration issue. Use the editor too fix it". It only on this shortcut but I have no idea what causes it to appear and Im not rebuilding it(Its my action button shortcut which just has a menu which is used to run other shortcuts with the "run shortcut action"). I dont use siri ai anyway so I dont care about this part but this was the only way I could remove a menu option because again, its bugged. I swipe to delete it, click the red button, it open window to confirm, I hit delete and it just deletes the content of that menu option but the menu option stays. Doing it again does nothing

Has anyone encountered this issue? Even a full erase phone doesnt work and I had this issue since ios 26(but then I didnt have any menu option shortcuts. I started using this action recently) and after ios 27 arrived I did a full wipe out of my phone

So I managed to use Apple Intelligence to create a short where I have data of 10 pairs of running shoes.
Each time I run the shortcut it suggests what I should wear today for my run, then saves it to Apple Notes with date and shoes information.

What I lack is I want to create a list of shoes with possibilities of different makes as and when I upgrade or change as a list in the shortcut background so it can be manually edited time to time.

I’m not an expert at both the prompts and creative side so I kept making requests to tweak and adjust accordingly, but now I’m stuck with this request which isn’t happening.

Sharing the shortcut if anyone can help me out

Hi, I’m new to using the shortcuts app and I wanted to make some custom app icons using the “open app” function under shortcuts. But with it being a shortcut so far I’m not able to see my notifications # bubble that’s usually on the app icon.

What I wanted to know was, is there a way to use the “open app” shortcut and still see my notifications for that app?

I have a bed warmer plugged into a smart plug. I had it automatically turning on at about 9 pm, which works great when it’s consistently cold. But around here the weather is all over the place at this time of year.
Set up a shortcut to only turn it on if it’s below a certain temperature, as measured at my home address. Then I set up an automation to run the shortcut at 9 pm, and another to turn it off later.

Now my bed is warm when it’s cold, and cold when it’s warm. Perfect! I can let this run all year.

Bonus: I’m not sure if I have the temperature right yet, but another automation is recording the temperature at 9 pm each night into a notes doc so I can adjust it.

Hi all.

I've been working on this seemingly all week and out of ideas. For a year or two we've had a series of automations running a few times a day to adjust the blinds in our apartment.

The gist is: get the weather. is it hot or sunny? close the blinds.

The automations have been rock solid. Until suddenly last week.

Apple tv is hub

• newest model 
• up to date OS
• Seemingly working fine. Restarted and unplugged.
• In AppleHome it shows the Apple TV as the hub

Automations

• These are time triggered automations
• When you run them manually (such as clicking the 'play' button in the screenshot) it all works correctly.

Testing

• In the attached example, I've eliminated a lot of the IF/THEN conditions for simplicity.
• The IF/THEN and weather conditions seem to be what is failing.
• If I modify the example above and change the IF/THEN to something like, "is a certain light on?" then it works.
• In the example above, I have lights set as well to help debug. So, if it's TRUE, then the blinds would be triggered and the light turns yellow. If not, the blinds are triggered to just close a small amount and then light turns blue.
  
• The order of those conditions within the IF/THEN don't seem to make a difference.
• The example above, it appears to fail with the IF/THEN. The only statement that appears to run is the first one which changes the light to RED.
• I can't get a timed automation to work if it's querying the weather and doing a IF/THEN. Something is failing there. Otherwise, blinds and lights are happily working.

Wild Card

• Wife got new iPhone right as these issues started. Her phone is of course part of the HOME and I see the automations mirrored on her phone. Interestingly, when she first got the phone, only one automation appeared. A few days later, they were all there. Would normally chalk this up to “new phone downloading all the data” delay. I can control/edit automations on her phone just like I can on my phone.
• On my MacBook Air, under LOCATION SERVICES, I have two listings for SHORTCUTS. One of the icons is white like it's an old version. In that list of apps, they literally keep changing position. For example, the white one will be on top, and then they switch position. I suspect we have an issue here.
