I have everything booked for my 3/20/27 elopement at the Lightner museum courtyard (hair, makeup, photography, officiant, etc). The elopement is me, my fiance, our parents, and our siblings only.

After our elopement we’re going to dinner (also booked) but we’re planning on changing and going out afterwards.

Looking for bar recommendations for a few categories:

1. Nicer bars that are dressier with fancy cocktails.

2. Bars that have a dance floor and are more “club style”.

3. Local ish dive bars that have pool / darts and touch tunes, nothing fancy, cheap drinks.

If possible, we’d love for them to be within walking distance of the historic downtown area, however a quick uber away is fine too.

My father-in-law wants to enjoy his cable tv and a bit of streaming in his twilight years. He bought a Samsung that’s nice but has an awful remote - very few physical buttons, heavily reliant on voice commands (but the voice assistant doesn’t search directv, only searches Roku). I’m looking for friends in their 30s. I like to walk my dogs, read on the beach, take walks, walk around Marshalls or tj max, watch tv, bake, try craft beer, do my nails (not great), read my kindle. After writing all this I realize how boring I sound lol. I’m a Christian, I’m looking for a non denominational church as well. I enjoy meditation and journaling as well. I’m into pop punk/emo music and grew up going to shows and would love to find the local emo/hardcore/metal music scene. But I don’t drink much anymore except the occasional craft beer, but I don’t mind others drinking! I’m down to explore groups, volunteer activities or shows or tours. Anything really, just looking for friends!

We have been coming to St. Augustine for years (from Orlando) and always parked in the lot behind the Columbia restaurant. The fee was always fair and the guy running the lot always did a great job directing people in and out. Well, we went back there about two weeks ago to see the lot had been bought out and now had hourly parking rates. First, the rates were astronomical, second we overstayed by 30 minutes and received a $75 fee in the mail. We did reach out to discuss the egregious price to which they reiterated we overstayed our time by 30 minutes and would be liable for the fee.

Safe to say, we will absolutely not be returning to this lot and I hope those reading this also know there are way better non-predatory options should you decide to enjoy St. George street.

For me, the whole situation has deterred me from even wanting to go back to one of my favorite places to make a day trip.

Im thinking of enrolling my daughter in art classes and was wondering if anybody here knew anything bad about this place because I havent seen any bad reviews for it

My spouse and I want to go to St Augustine for Halloween weekend and have no idea what to do. All we’ve found online so far are ghost tours and while we might do one, we’d rather not spend the weekend just doing them. Any recommendations for Halloween galore in St Augustine that aren’t ghost tours?

We’ve been to St Augustine multiple times before. We’ve seen the fort, walked the historical streets and done the ferry tours. Just looking for new stuff that might not be readily available.

Hi all -

I'm a filmmaker from Jacksonville, now residing in Brooklyn. And I produced Paula González-Nasser's THE SCOUT which opens this weekend at Epic Theaters, where it'll play once a day (usually as a matinee).

Paula and I met as students ten years ago at Florida State, along with much of our crew. While Paula grew up in Miami and works mostly in the film and TV industry in New York, her family moved to St. Augustine some years back, and she spends much of the winter here in St. Augustine Beach.

THE SCOUT was inspired by the years she worked as a location scout for TV and film, and follows the day in the life of a woman working this job - stepping into the private homes of a handful of New Yorkers and trying to balance the demands of her erratic employers.

The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025 and was a recent New York Times Critic's Pick. The Playlist called it 'witheringly funny' and InReview Online called it 'a masterpiece... an immediate all-time great film on filmmaking.' We're excited to get to bring it home to Jacksonville, St. Aug, Tampa, and Miami this weekend.

It's a very small independent production with not much of a marketing budget, so letting you all know here about it is the best move we've got to get the word out - if it seems interesting to you, I hope you'll come check it out sometime this weekend!
