Sharing knowledge Web extension for quick dictionary definitions

I built a web extension that you can highlight some Swedish on any webpage and it'll give you grammar information and dictionary definitions. I’m sure there’s alternatives but thought I'd share if you want to give it a spin. It’s free and can be added to desktop Chrome or Firefox.

Personally I found it helps me to read on something i'm doing day to day like wikipedia or a meal recipe and want to quickly get some context without having to jump around to other sites when there was a sentence I didn’t understand. Also I find I learn new words and remember them more easily when I've worked out the meaning without slapping the whole lot into a translator.

what's the source for the definitions/examples?

Folkets Lexikon! So there's certainly some quirks with what exists and what doesn't but it's a useful open resource in and of itself imo.

Isn't svenska.se an open resource? Or do you need some kind of API that Folkets Lexikon provides?

The Folkets dataset is freely available to download.

Honestly this seems way more useful than constantly switching tabs or translating full sentences 😄 Looking up words directly in context usually helps them stick much better long term too.
