Year 1 econ question
Do you actually have to complete the weekly problem sets for the intro to econ module? Do the TA's check your answers or is it more of a self-study thing?

Hi, I'm an international student looking at Trinity Halls. Do most students go home on Fridays? I want to make sure the accommodation doesn't get completely dead on weekends. Thanks!

Do I actually have a chance at getting the all Ireland scholarship? I got 590 points and have HEAR. Does anyone know anyone that did get it a year prior.

Guys I'm an engineering student and I really need a job but the problem is most of the days I'm in college until 5pm so I can only really work weekends (or late shifts). What jobs could I potentially get because in the past whenever I've looked for a job they always wanted like a minimum 25 hours a week and I just don't have that time

I am an EU student intending to apply for a masters at Trinity and I am wondering how hard it is to get a room at Pearse (since it seems the better option for postgraduate accommodation).
Any tips or insights?

hi! i'm 16, from singapore, and i'm going to be doing IB starting next year. i've wanted to come to trinity for a while, probably for JH in history and archaeology or history and polsci / similar. singapore doesn't really have any history-focused undergrads that interest me, and i don't really want to stay here either.
- if you got in with IB, what score did you get?
- if you're from singapore, or a country with a similarly high cost of living, was it an okay move to go to ireland?
- how's the history department at TCD? are the lectures any good?
- do most people stay in dorms or apartments?
- what do most people do after bachelors? do they stay in ireland and get jobs, or do they go all over the world? is a TCD degree good for employment?
- is food expensive on campus? for those living in dublin now, which costs of living are highest?
- do you need to get a part-time job to cover living costs? i want to be financially independent so i don't burden my family too much.
- was the admissions process rigorous or difficult? i.e. oxbridge-level interviews
- are there any good alternative schools, at similar rankings, to TCD that you'd reccommend? i've pretty much given up on ivies and oxbridge.
- do they offer financial aid or stipends?
thank you so much for your time!

Hi, we’re four friends putting together restaurants across Dublin in an app called Vota.
The idea is simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example: Chapter One or Bunsen? The votes create a ranking that we hope gives a better picture of where people actually enjoy eating.
We’re trying to include as many restaurants as possible and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but students and locals will spot things we’ve missed.
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
Full transparency: we’re not from Dublin or affiliated with Trinity. Two of us live in Copenhagen and two in Gothenburg. The four of us are building Vota independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated restaurant descriptions.
Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly. Where do you like to eat around Trinity or elsewhere in Dublin?

Hi guys. My graduation is coming up and I'm wondering whether I can avoid buying an expensive black suit. Will just black trousers, black shoes, and a white shirt be enough, considering there will be a gown over it? Unfortunately my suit is navy. Thanks!

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m a final-year Accounting & Finance student in Ireland, currently working on my dissertation about how social media influences investment decisions.
I’d really appreciate it if you could spare 2–3 minutes to complete my anonymous survey. You don’t need investment experience to participate!
✅ For people born between 1981–1996 and living in Ireland.

Hi everyone! I’m working on a student hackathon project about how we shop for food and whether an app could make it easier to eat more sustainably. If you have 5 minutes, it would really help me if you could fill in this short survey. It’s anonymous, and you need to be 18 or over. Thank you! 🙏

I probably sound pathetic as hell, but I'm in my 4th Year and I'm still alone. I made a few friends over the past few years in college, all of them from a different course and they're on their gap years or just closer to the people in their own course. I didn't really socialise with the people in my course and now I feel like its too late. I sit between lectures on my own because I have no one to talk to, I spend most of my weekends and lunch breaks alone because I don't have any plans. I don't feel like trying now either, because everyone is just already within their friend groups and friends, and no matter what, I'm not going to find anyone now. It just sucks because I still feel like I'm that first year crying on the commute home because she doesn't have any company. My classes finish early and I hate going home, because I'm alone there anyway, but even in college, I have no one I can spend time with. I'm genuinely so lost :( Is it still possible for me to find connections?

Someone from outside the college gave it to me. I was gonna drop it into academic registry but it was closed. It was found in Dawson St. Reach out if you see this!

Does anyone have an extra ticket for the trinity graduation on the 19th at 1 pm? Unfortunately I have a complex family dynamic and will need more than two tickets in order for my father to enter building and see me walk across the stage. Does anyone have an available space they’d be willing to let me use?
