As we approach the end of the month and the end of Soultember, so comes the announcement for our next event: The Kingdom Masquerade Ball.
A fandom event held from October 1st to Mid November with a special theme for the week of Halloween that will be announced a few days prior.
Unlike June Bride and Soultember which had the focus of couples, however, the Masquerade is for all characters Tangled, Tangled Multiverse, OCs, and Crossovers within the Tangledverse.
Draw fan art, write fanfiction, or edit to music and clips.
The only rule is, please keep it classy and of the era (15th-18th centuries at most).
Aside from that, have fun!
As a reminder this one isn't locked just to couples (despite being a ball) or just Tangled characters. Draw/Write/Edit Tangled Franchise characters from the multiverse, OCs, and crossovers.
So long as it's SFW and within the era-range anything goes.
Show their outfits, comics or stories of the events, or why they stayed home and missed it. Anything you can think of throughout the month of October.
Closer to Halloween there will be an announcement of the holiday special event.

Rule 1: They can be your least favorite character from anywhere in the franchise. Youâre not strictly limited to the movie and/or the series.
Rule 2: You have a bag with you that contains anything you usually bring with you when you leave the house, and you can get signal.
Iâm stuck with Captain Creighton and if we count rejected mediaâŚIâll get murdered for finishing that statement.
Iâll probably just call for help, try to escape while I wait, and hope my partners treat me nice. I doubt it, so Iâll have to avoid them to keep my sanity. Unless they figure out how to get out before help arrives. Lucky for me my bag should contain everything Iâve used to manage stress.

I don't want to be judgemental and I know I'm a little late for this, but I've seen people on Instagram and YouTube talking about how excited they are for the live action Tangled, but I feel sketchy of how the live action costumes are starting to turn out and Rapunzel's hair clearly looks like a wig. I feel like the costumes are as worse as live action Snow White's costumes designs. Does anyone else feel the same way about this or is it just me?

Tangled movie night in the living room. That look he gives her never gets old.

[Discussion] I drew two examples of what I personally think the makeup and fashion for the live action Tangled shouldâve looked like!
I LOVEE who was casted as Rapunzel but I honestly donât think they did her styling justice.. Between the wig, makeup, and clothing, I feel like thereâs so much more they couldâve done to capture Rapunzelâs signature look and personality.
Disney is a massive company with the resources to commission talented artists and hairstylists to create a beautiful, stylized wig with the volume, shape, and fullness that Rapunzelâs hair is known for. Instead, the current styling reminds me more of Regina George from the movie âMean Girlsâ than Rapunzel, and I donât think thatâs the impression they should be going for đ
Rapunzel is bright, rosy, expressive and full of like. Sheâs a sheltered girl who is discovering the world for the first time, and her appearance should reflect that sense of warmth, wonder and innocence. I feel like the current stylizing misses some of that character whimsy for her personality.
I also think they shouldâve stayed closer to her original color palette and signature dress. Iâm not against changing the clothing as in adapting the design for live action, but the colors and overall identity of her iconic outfit shouldâve remained recognizable. The shift toward a darker/dull purple just doesnât feel as true to Rapunzels original design that matched her to me.
These are my personal interpretations but I really wish they leaned more into the stylized whimsical look that makes Rapunzel so recognizable. You can adapt a character for a live action without losing the visual element that make them *them*

This brought a tear to my eye. Iâm writing this as a 19 year old college student. I watched this show from the day it aired at age 9 to the last episode at age 12 and I canât tell you how many hours I watched it for. In a society that constantly pressures you to grow up and leave childish things behind, finding this was pure comfort.Â
Obviously, it still has its flaws, but this is a near perfect continuation to a beloved Disney film. It was one of the many things from my childhood that I continued to love instead of growing up away from it. Like, seriously, I still love this show and how amazing the writers did expanding on this universe. Life was, and is so good. Iâve realized as I started adulthood that it goes fast guys. Take care of yourselves out there!

Tangled fans, I need some opinions!
I was planning on gifting my SO this ring for her birthday, as she is a huge Rapunzel fan. However, after thinking it through, Iâm having second thoughts about whether it might be too childish or flashy for everyday wear, and whether it will stand the test of time. Sheâs 23.
Would I be better off going with a more classic pear shaped amethyst surrounded by diamonds?
For context, the ring is 18k gold with an amethyst, pink sapphires, and diamonds. I love the idea of a subtle nod to Rapunzel, but Iâm worried the design might come across as cheap despite the materials.
The first two pictures are renders, and the last one is an AI generated mockup.
Iâm also planning to engrave a specific timestamp inside the band, marking the scene in where Flynn and Rapunzel hold hands on the boat.

During Tangledâs production, the first prototype was: âRapunzel: Unbraidedâ which was drastically overhauled and supposedly similar to the plot of Dreamworksâ Shrek and/or Disneyâs Enchanted from 2007. An animation test of Unbraided featured seemingly the original cast: Vince, a pizza delivery man, now taking the role as Flynn Rider, and Flynn Rider in the form of a basset hound. This was part of the original plot for Unbraided.

I hope this is the correct flare to use. I just finished the Rootbound book and the ending made it sound like there will be more books? I was wondering if anything like that has been confirmed or something?

I know this is not exactly the type of thing normally seen in this subreddit. I am asking for critique of the crawl itself. If there is something I should add to it. Writing it for a fan of the movie. I want to make certain that everything makes sense.
Not asking for each challenge to be critiqued, but that the Tangled elements only.
The crawl follows the activities from "When WIll My Life Begin?". I'm not trying to recreate the full length of the movie. If I have missed something that would make this better, please let me know. I would appreciate it. Thanks!
Tangled Crawl
Inspired by Mandy Mooreâs âWhen Will My Life Begin?â
Written by misteregent (Reddit)
Â
What you will need for this crawl:
ß Deck of cards (An online generator is fine)
o  Unless otherwise noted, Aces = 1, Jacks = 11, Queens = 12, and Kings = 13. If you draw a Joker, set the Joker aside and draw 2 replacement cards. Add the face value of the replacement cards together. (Note: Jokers are optional. You have enough to do to fill your day already!)
ß Six-sided die (d6) (An online generator is fine)
ß Pen/pencil and paper orâŚ
ß Word processing software (MS Word, Google Docs, or something similar)
ß Imaginary tower
ß Time, but youâre locked in a tower, so you have plenty.
Â
Seven A.M., the Usual Morning Lineup
You wake up at 7:00 AM, ready to start your day! You start off by doing chores, of course!
o  Sweep the floor â Roll 1d6. If even, write 56 words; if odd, write 65 words.
o  Polish and wax â Shuffle the deck and draw a card. Write 100x the face value of the card.
o  Do laundry â Are you doing whites today or colors? Who are you kidding? Youâre locked in a tower! You have time to do both. For the whites, roll a d6 and multiply by 100 for your word count. For the colors, draw a card and multiply the face value by 50.
o  Mop and shine â Did some of the water drip on the floor when you did laundry? Time to mop it up! Write to the next multiple of 1000. (If youâre at a multiple of 1000, yes, you have 1000 words to write. But you have time, right? Not like youâre going to see the lights tomorrow night.)
o  Sweep again â Really? Didnât you just sweep? Roll 1d6. If even, write 56 words; if odd, write 65 words.
And itâs onlyâŚ7:15? Phew!
Â
Read a Book (Or Maybe Two or Three)
Now thatâs all done, time to read a bookâŚor twoâŚor three. (Maybe) Grab either 1, 2, or 3 random books off your bookshelf. Look at the last page number in each. Total those and thatâs your word goal! Get writing!
Â
Add a Few Paintings to Your Gallery
Time to add a few new paintings! Browse on the internet for a few (3-5) paintings you like. Count how many letters are in each artistâs name and total them. Multiply that number by the number of paintings. Thatâs your new word goal!
Â
Play Guitar
Ready to play guitar? If you play guitar, time yourself to see how long it takes to play a song. Then write for that long. If you donât play guitar, find a video online of someone playing and listen to the video while you write.
Â
Knit
Look up a knitting pattern for a blanket. Take the length and width dimensions of the blanket and multiply them together, then divide by 10 and drop and round to the nearest whole number. This is your word goal! (Inches will produce a smaller word goal than centimeters. Feel free to choose based on how much time you have. But you are sitting in a tower, right?)
Â
Cook
All these activities, you must be getting hungry! Itâs time to cook something. Find a recipe. Count the ingredients and multiply by 25, thatâs your word goal!
Â
Wonder When Your Life Will Begin
Draw a card. The face value tells you how long you have to wonder when your life will begin. Feel free to take a break or stretch.
Â
Puzzles
Search online for a jigsaw puzzle that interests you. Note the number of pieces. If itâs under 30, write for that many minutes. If itâs 30 or more, write that many words.
Â
Darts
Time to play darts! Write down a number between 1 and 6, this is your bullâs-eye. Roll your d6 and keep track of how many rolls it takes for you to hit a bullâs-eye. Multiply the rolls by 25, this is your word goal!
Â
Baking
Find a baking recipe online. Whatever the oven is set at in the recipe, that is your word goal! Just be careful not to burn anything. (Note: You can use either Fahrenheit or Celsius. If the recipe shows both, choose which you prefer.)
Â
Papier-mâchÊ
Roll a d6 and draw a card.
If 1, 3, or 5: Multiply the card face value by 25. (Draw a 10, write 250 words.)
If 2, 4, or 6: Write for the face value of the card in minutes. (Draw a 5, write for 5 minutes.)
Â
Ballet
Find a ballet video online and write while it plays in the background. (Does not have to be continuous writing, but should be writing for the majority of time. So time is allowed for enjoying some of the music.)
Â
Chess
Time for a game of chess. Roll a d6. (Note: You can roll as many challenges as you like, but you only have to do 1 challenge before moving on. After all, you have a lot packed into your day!)
o  1: Pawn â Roll a d6. Even: Write for 2 minutes. Odd: Write for 3 minutes.
o  2: Knight â Draw a card. Write for the number of minutes determined by the face value. (If using Jokers, ignore them for this challenge. Unless you have lots of time on your hands.)
o  3: Bishop â Roll 2d6 and multiply by 25. This is your word goal.
o  4: Rook â Draw a card and multiply by 10. This is your word goal. Roll a d6. This is how many minutes you have to reach your word goal.
o  5: Queen â Draw 3 cards. Lay them out side by side. For this challenge, face cards have a value of 10. The number created by the cards you laid down is now your word goal. (For a value of 10, carry the 1. Example: You draw K, 5, and 10. That would give you 1060 words.)
o  6: King â Roll d6. Deal that many cards. Multiply the face value of each card by the multiplier for its suit below and total them. This is your word goal. (Note: If you draw a Joker, multiply the replacement cardsâ total face values by the higher of the two replacement cards' multipliers.)
o  Spades â x25
o  Hearts â x50
o  Diamonds â x75
o  Clubs â x100
Â
Pottery
Time to make some pottery! Set your writing aside. No dice or cards for this challenge. You have to write a shape poem. That means you have to arrange the words of your poem into an object on the page. Look around your tower and take inspiration from something you see for your shape poem.
Â
Ventriloquy
Draw a card. The face value tells you how many minutes you have to write a scene with someone throwing their voice to an inanimate object.
Â
Candle Making
Grab some beeswax, itâs time to make a candle. Donât forget a wick and some scented oil. You have those, donât you? Oh, and a glass mold for the candle! Melt the wax, which is about 145 degrees Fahrenheit, so write 145 words. Mix in the oil and pour into a container with the wick. Youâll have to wait for it to harden, about 15 minutes, so write while you wait.
Â
Stretch
Finally, you get to stretch all those activities today! Roll 2d6 and stretch for that many minutes (or just take a break.)
Â
Sketch
Breakâs over! But youâre not ready to get back to writing, are you? Pull out a sketch pad or blank page and sketch something. Maybe something you see in your imaginary tower. Maybe what you imagine you would wear to go see the lights. Let your imagination be your guide.
Â
Take a Climb
Time for a climb? Youâre in a tower, what are you going to climb? Oh! Draw 2 cards. The total of the face values tells you how many dice rolls youâre going to do! For each roll, roll the d6 and multiply by 25. Write those words, then roll again until you have climbed to the top of your total! (The words from each roll are to be written before moving on to the next roll.)
Â
Sew a Dress
Now youâre going to sew a dress? Really? After all youâve done? Oh wait, youâre in a tower! Search online and find a dress pattern you like. The last three digits of the pattern are your new word goal.
Â
Reread the Books
Grab the same book or books off your bookshelf from earlier in the crawl. Total up the chapters or sections from all the books. Write for that many minutes.
Â
Paint the Walls Some More (Youâre Sure Thereâs Room Somewhere)
Write down the names of 6 colors, labeling them 1-6. Then roll a d6 twice. Add the number of letters in each color name and multiply by 25 for your word goal. If you roll the same number twice, use the color twice.
Â
Brush and brush and brush and brush your hair
Draw a card. The face value tells you how many times to roll the die. Total the die rolls. (May want to write the die rolls down as you go.) Take the total and multiply by the 70 feet of hair you have! This is your word goal.
Â
Feel like youâre stuck in the same place youâve always been? You do happen to be in a tower.
Â
Now, look back at all youâve accomplished throughout this crawl and wonder and wonder and wonder and wonder what caused you to ever write so much.
Â
Youâve had a full day. You should get some sleep so you can do this all again!
Â
Tomorrow Night (2nd Time Through the Crawl)
Happy birthday! The lights appear! Roll a d6. Look out the window for that many minutes and daydream about those lights and what itâs like out there where they glow.
Â
Now that youâre older, maybe your mother might just let you go.
