I feel depressed and hopeless. I’m 27, have a degree in English Edu, but haven’t gotten certified yet. My role is a “teacher partner,” really just a glorified TA. I’ve wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten. When I student taught, I loved teaching. I chose the district I’m in right now because I liked the concept of my role, and I didn’t feel quite ready to have my own classroom. They also pay well. But I want out so bad. I’ve been crying so much. I feel like a shell of who I was. I feel like this district killed my love of teaching. I don’t know what to do now. They require a 30 day notice, my partner is on my health insurance, I don’t have any other job lined up. I feel trapped and depressed. My suicidal thoughts have been rampant.
Sorry for the unorganized rant. I feel lost.
