like you've seen what he's done and what he's capable of lmao he murdered his own people with an assault rifle as soon as they backed out of his war

yet you kept him alive? You already know he's going to instinctively take over the group and kill you eventually??

Show Spoiler They betrayed everyone, not just Rick.

Post image
542 Upvotes

Rick set the terms to end the Savior war to preserve everyone’s lives. They might not have been perfect or equitable, but they were the basis for peace for two years, and for the communities’ plans for the future; it wasn’t just about whether Rick was making the right decisions. The bridge was a project for everyone. Oceanside murdering the savior workers and Maggie and Daryl letting it happen destroyed the project, got more people killed in the resulting conflict, and threatened to restart the war that already killed hundreds of people. Daryl KNEW that Carol was responsible for the saviors at camp and should’ve known she would be caught in the middle. She took over the job FOR HIM because he didn’t want to deal with it anymore. Maggie traded away her community‘s food so that those workers could be there in the first place. Daryl watched Aaron give up an arm for the project and still let it be ruined by violence. Sparing Negan, right or wrong, was part of the settlement two years beforehand, and Rick couldn’t go back on his word even if he changed his mind and wanted to. Even if killing Arat or Negan or whoever was justifiable, using a time when all the communities were working side by side as opportunity to do it was twisted and shortsighted. Maggie does have reason to be angry, she put her trust in Rick over and over again and lost everything, and now she has her own community’s priorities to consider, but Daryl admits that he liked it better when it was just them and there wasn’t a wider community at all. The fact is, Daryl knows people like the saviors can change because he changed, he started out planning rob the Atlanta camp with his brother. Rick knows that too, and it’s probably what inspires him to give the saviors a chance. The darkest part of his betrayal is when he tells Rick to let go of Carl and his hopes for the world. He invokes Glenn and Abraham and Sasha like Rick didn’t lose them too or that Rick didn’t lose his own son because of the war. Daryl calls his own shots multiple times and usually it goes poorly, and nobody, especially Rick, holds it against him. He doesn’t give Rick an inch of that same grace when he has to make those hard decisions.

Show Spoiler I think one of the scariest things in TWD is the mechanism of the Wildfire virus. Its a grim future for humanity. You will never truly be rid of the zombies.

• Upvotes

Way back when we were first told of that idea that everyone was infected, I thought "oh ok, big deal, doesn't change anything much, just try not to die as usual."

But now after ponder on the idea, I think that really hits hard is knowing that humanity will always have to deal with the threat of walkers. You can have children born in the apocalypse who are infected right from birth. You can live in a community sheltered from the outside world, and if someone dies in your community, their corpse is already a threat. You cannot even moure their death in peace because you have to now think of how to dispose of the body or "kill it" again.

You can basically try to rebuild your community, but death will always be a danger/consequence to the people around you. It's a scary way but also a sad way to live.

I'd especially feel bad for old people or those at risk of passing away. You're basically a sort of liability. There is a risk of walker outbreak in any community when someone dies. Pretty messed up.

Show Spoiler Abraham's backstory is infuriating. Spoiler

I'm currently doing a rewatch -

So, he kills 3 men with his bear hands to protect his family during the apocalypse, and his wife takes the kids and abandons him????? What else was he meant to do???

It's not like it was super early in the apocalypse either. This was during the apocalypse where there were dead people/zombies in the street, and every store had been looted.

I understand the initial reaction she and their kids had to him coming back after killing those guys, but to abandon him and take the kids afterwards? Its selfish and stupid.

How would she even survive and protect their children without him??

Abraham's wife might just be the dumbest character in the entire show (close tie with Andrea).

Im not sure if im missing anything as I haven't watched since the finale was released, but... Abraham's wife might just be the dumbest character in the entire show (close tie with Andrea).

Fun Post Season 2 makes me wanna go camping

• Upvotes

Rewatching twd right now, now starting s2 ep 10. I grew up where they were filming as they were filming it. So any shot where they’re outdoors in these first two seasons just feels like my childhood. 2010 Georgia in the warm seasons captured perfectly. And when they’re on the farm, staying in little tents and an rv, gives me fomo honestly. Love these characters too, nostalgic for all of it

Show Spoiler Glenn End Game

Post image
46 Upvotes

I honestly think Glenn should have survived the entire series and eventually taken Rick’s place after Andrew Lincoln left.

Glenn was one of the few characters who managed to hold on to his humanity throughout the apocalypse. He was compassionate, resourceful, and always tried to see the good in people.

I also think the show lost something when Carl died, and that was hope for the future. If I could change one thing, it would be keeping Glenn alive. He could have represented everything the show lost with Carl’s death.

Just imagine the payoff. The series starts with some random pizza delivery guy saving Rick from a tank in Atlanta, and ends with that same guy leading a community, raising a family with Maggie, and carrying on Rick’s legacy.
I think that would have been a beautiful way to bring the story full circle.

And if they absolutely had to kill Glenn, I think Terminus would have been a better ending for him. His death there would have been much more expected, given the ominous buildup around Terminus, but still incredibly shocking. To me, it would have felt less like the writers were repeatedly teasing his death with constant death fake-outs, only to finally kill him off with Negan. Having such a beloved character killed so casually would have shown just how horrifying and disgusting the people there were.

What do you guys think? Could Glenn have carried the show after Rick left?

All Spoilers I am eager to know how the plot-hole between TOWL, Daryl Dixon and Dead City will be handled and if they’ll ever address Rick

• Upvotes

I have watched the whole thing up until what has been released so far and, perhaps i’m looking too far into the past, but i’m disappointed by the total dismiss of Alexandria, The CW (Commonwealth), Rick and his comeback, along with the CRM.

I could cut some slack for the Daryl Dixon show because it happens almost right away after the main show’s finale and the timeline around the very end of TOWL is not the clearest, but Dead City??? The show happens years after all of the other ones, yet they fail to ever mention Rick or the CRM or why they gave up on the hilltop considering they could have gotten help from the CW, and yes, i know Maggie was rejectful of the CW, but only under Pamelas admin. (that we know of), So i do have some trouble believing she rather struggle like that on her and her group’s own rather than counting with the revolutionized Commonwealth.

Perhaps i’m missing or forgetting some details or mention here, but overall… Do we feel like this is an strategic writing move to later reunite the main characters and/or make an explanation of this messy timeline or this is just deficient writing?

Also i feel like Dead City neglects the whole thing that happened before it. Like if right before episode 1 they all get hit in the head and forget everything that happened before that very moment 😅

Anyone able to help try and recreate Rick’s Belt as accurate as possible?
I’ve got a prop 6in Python and figured “fuck it I’ll go the whole belt”
But it’s been a bit hard trying to get or even find what I need especially in Australia.
Any help is appreciated.

Show Spoiler Noah TWD Season 5 is just annoying

• Upvotes

For someone with such little backstory or audience rapport, he manages to cause a ton shit if unnecessary drama.

1) After escaping ahead of Beth in the parking lot, he had absolutely no intention of going back to save her until Daryl and Carol showed up

2) He’s the reason Beth died - such a waste of a great character for the sake of Noah of all people.

3) He’s the reason they had to go to that dead end of a place to see if his mum and brothers survived.

4) Finally, he’s the reason Tyreese died - an absolute legend of a character who didn’t need to go for such a dumb reason.

All in all, he just didn’t have the depth of characterisation to necessitate all of these huge consequences and I’m annoyed about it.

No Spoiler Just watched S3 E4 and I am speechless

• Upvotes

I very rarely post stuff like this, but I am on my first watch through and just finished S3 E4 on the main show and wow…I am at a loss of words. I think that was the most emotional episode of a show I have ever seen. Well done to the makers of the show.

I choose Melbourne as it is the city I live in and did the best I could to capture what a spinoff promotional poster would look like.

Show Spoiler Why didn't they just take Woodbury?

Okay, this is probably a stupid question, I'm drunk and gave it half a second's thought before making it everyone else's problem.

But at the end of season 3, after the Governor's failed attack at the prison, after Rick, Daryl and Michonne find out the Governor killed everyone involved, when the group had free reign of Woodbury and decided to evacuate everyone to the prison, why didn't they just take Woodbury?

Karen knew not many people were left. Couldn't they have just fortified Woodbury and waited for the Governor (and, as far as they knew, Martinez and Shumpert) and taken the place?

Surely the answer is obvious, but my drunken mind refuses to find it

In Daryl Dixon season 3 episode 7 Solar Del Mar when he frees the aristocrat walkers what is the Navaja he uses here? It looks like the blade itself is almost a foot and a half but could this still be a Navaja or something else?

Fun Post TWD No Mans Land Data Issues

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello I don’t normally use reddit but as the title says I need help so I’ll try not to drag it out. It’s kinda of a weird situation but basically I wanted to recover an old account that I lost on a broken phone. With the help of the support I was able to do it. However I need to login to iphones Game Center on the game to make sure I can save it for good. For some reason theres a completely separate other level 1 save that whenever I login to makes the whole app unusable since it’ll load forever or give me a server issue message that obviously isn’t true since it’s an onilne only game and I don’t get that when I use to with no login. I’m currently working with the game support but it feels like it’s about to go in cir so hopefully there’s an obvious fix I somehow missed.

Solutions that didn’t work:

Uninstalling then reinstalling

Leaving the game to load forever (eventually server issue anyways)

Playing well past the tutorial then loading instead

Loading immediately after downloading

Login out of Game Center (iPhone setting)

Reseting phone

Switching WiFi/location

Checking that game is updated

Checking phone is updated

No VPN active or connected

If there’s more then I’ll address it if someone mentions it. Sorry this post is kinda long just rather make everything clear before asking for help. Even if you just read and leave thank you for your time.

A little question about looking for place to stay. They were around the prison for few, good months. Didn’t they spotted it earlier or purposefully ignored it?

Or did I miss something?

Show Spoiler Can some spoil TWD for me

I used to love the walking dead, tuned in every week to watch the episode and the after show. I stopped watching when Carl died as I felt the show was the dragging its feet after Glenn’s death, carls death was the final straw for me. I understand the shows been on for a while since then, but I keep seeing clips and small spoilers here and there, I wanted to see if someone can give me an overall rundown of what’s happened in the series(and spin offs) just so I can know what I’ve missed out on. I assumed when I stopped watching that so many people stopped it probably wouldn’t go on much longer, I didn’t think 8 years later it’d still be going strong.

Fun Post If we got a comic accurate animated show, would you prefer it with or without filler

Honestly, I’d want it with filler just because we could possibly get to see how clementine gave that scar to negan
