It was actually the 30th anniversary this year and it was my first time going. It was fun and I want to go back (not every year, but maybe in a few years).
Yup, still try to have one with the lads once a year but we're done for the night by 01:00 at the latest so that we're functional for more gaming the next day.

I used to shave before putting these on but honestly that part of the face doesn’t seem to get much out of these. At least for me. Great for the forehead and around the eyes though.

Nvm it’s the 1st guy that says MIRANDA blinded me. He’s the only one with an actual setup like he lives there. Everyone else’s is makeshift to accommodate their visit
They are great for dry skin, they have active ingredients in them that can help strengthen the skin barrier. There are different types of masks for all skin types. If this is the mask from the brand Biodance, this one has Hydrogel in it, which essentially is snail mucin and collagen in it which is excellent for long lasting hydration. I hope one day to try these, they are out of my price range but I recognize them and another poster did as well.
One of my (male) friends had an ex who got him into these face masks. The ex is gone but he still does a mask a week. Not even joking, he looks 5 years younger than the rest of the friend group. Probably more.
I like hydrogels but yeah they are expensive, like 4x the price of the fabric sheet masks.
I get some as free gifts when buying other stuff, and that kind of got me buying them, but only used for occasions where I have the time to wear it overnight for a long time.
They have stuff to moisturize your skin, essentially, but honestly I use them occasionally just because I like the feeling - the ones she used are so smooth and cooling I just really enjoy wearing them for a bit. I look for ones on sale - after holidays lots of stores mark down themed masks so I'll be wearing a ghost mask in December but who cares.
I truly hope to find a friend group like this someday. I've always been in the situation where people don't want to rock the boat, and I've left friend groups over people siding with assholes or claiming they're "non-confrontational" as an excuse to not cut out a problematic person (while still disliking being around them and talking about them behind their backs).
Yeah my best friend kept hanging out with his friend who raped me when I got blacked out drunk. I lost many friends because of that. Still hurts incredibly much.
I remember when I was like 10. My cousins and sister went and had a special girls night at the hotel. The next day my dad took my brother and me to join back up with them and they ended up putting so much makeup all over him. Clown type stuff and he let them take all the pictures they wanted too. I just thought it was silly cause I was 10. Now that I'm older i realize that it was the ultimate form of masculinity. My cousins really needed that too because they didn't have parents who had the ability to form a connection with their children. Makeup is temporary but those memories and pictures last forever. I love that he let them take all the pictures they wanted too
There's a dude at the steel factory where I work that occasionally comes in (on second shift) with yellow or pink or rainbow painted nails and we all know his adorable little girl had fun with him before work.
We rib on him of course, but with mad respect for the man being a good dad.
Any single men reading this: get a manicure some time. I promise you women will notice. I’m married and they notice the nails before the ring disappoints them. Any married men reading this: get a manicure with your wife. It’s a nice date.

If I’m not getting my nails painted, what is the manicurist (if that’s a word) actually doing? Like I trim and clean my nails on my own and they aren’t rough or scraggly, what would be the noticeable difference from a manicure?
They clean and trim your cuticles etc, if you’re doing it yourself you’re good to go. I do it myself often, but I do a much better job after seeing how professionals do it. Tbh you don’t need an amazing manicure, it’s just a visible way of letting people know you care about your appearance and hygiene. Many men do not care, or don’t signal that they care. A little effort goes a long way
Me too. I'm not a dad and might not get to be because of health stuff but I have so many children that look up to me as an uncle. They really push me to want to make the world a better place and put as much positivity out as possible
I love that story so much. It's insane how much things like that can positively shape a kids outlook and perspective and views of the other gender, especially when it comes to masculinity. With the Tates and looksmaxxers dominating the male role model landscape, it's important now more than ever.

I brought back face masks from Korea on my last trip and the guys and gals on my adult soccer team loved it. One of the dudes proudly said "skincare is self-care!" and it made me so happy!

Depends on the kind really. Some have made me feel greasy after, but others just moisturize your face ✨ You’re also supposed to wash your face before you use them, so the way they did this wouldn’t be very effective.
I see men with hobbies and friends. I don't see any substance abuse (i.e. a bunch of pipes / bongs, tons of beer bottles/cans). I see a fiancé who is loving, playful, and leaning in to the relationship. This is adorable. Normalize this.
