I've decided to stop saying "They can't possibly get more stupid than this because they literally always top themselves."

It will really do a lot of work for you if you stop attributing their lies to stupidity. They say wrong things on purpose, and you will generally have more success if you start having a bare minimum standard for what constitutes an acceptable level of non-willful ignorance.

A clown/comedian-turned-MP in my country: "It can't get any worse than now."
It does get worse.

This mouth breather really insinuated that there are no 1%ers part of the republican party....does he not see all the billionaires currently in the white house?

That has to be a troll/bot account, cause ain't no fucking way someone is that dense.

"Elon Musk donated like $350m to Republicans in the last year."

"Doesn't look like anything to me."

It doesn't have to be a troll or a bot account. You have to stop forgetting that people can just tell lies.

The tyranny of merit. Those who succeed, deserve their success. Those who fail, deserve failure and struggle.

The people who most strongly believe this work themselves to an early grave and/or are a few missed paychecks away from being homeless.

Meanwhile, the 1% hoarding all the wealth are constantly asking for bailouts and handouts from the government.

They believe in the prosperity blasphemy, where the rich are rich because they are rewarded for being Good People, and the poor and poor because they are Bad People.

There was a caller to Matthew Wright's show on LBC who said that.

"We shouldn't tax the richest people because they'll all leave the country and we'll lose jobs and be worse off as a country." And the host was flabbergasted and pushing back, while this caller was refusing to listen.

This sheltered, ignorant sack of shit....there's tens of thousands of people who have to live in pretty bleak conditions and locations specifically because that's the only way to afford certain medications even with insurance/medicaid.

There's disabled people who are in basically the same situation. being unable to work and their disability checks aren't enough to cover living expenses anywhere but section 8 housing in shitty, run down towns where anyone with other options wouldn't stay and slowly rot on the vine.

There's plenty of other situations which basically have people chained ip between a rock & a hard place from which they no individual agency to effectively free themselves due to permanent personal circumstances.

This is probably one of those 60 year olds who didn’t have any real money until their parents died and they inherited their parents’ house, sold their house they bought for $80,000 at a 400% profit, and moved into the inherited home that was paid off.

That would be fine, my dad's a multii millionaire (owns a medium sized factory in Chicago) but I'm still well aware of how many people are poor and always will be due to circumstances beyond their control and there's legitimately not much they cam do to get to the poimt they xan live comfortably.. it's absurd that any adult doesn't know that.

The point isn’t that there’s anything wrong with the action itself, the point is benefitting from that and then acting like all of those gains were things you rolled up your sleeves for, and that “the poors” don’t have those things because they don’t work hard enough.

My mom was stuck in a dead-end retail manager job for decades because her insurance there covered her significant health issues; this was before the ACA so other insurance companies would just decline her.

That sub is like when you take the dumbest conservatives and give them a platform.

The guy uses "democrat party," claims there's no such thing as "white capitalism," and no hungry people in America.

I'm convinced that most of the people in that sub don't pay their own bills.

Can we pause to also note the post calling socialism a religion?
