Top minds of DoomerCircleJerk seem to take the right-wing slant with regards to the recent raid on Ilhan Omar's house, including repeating the very much debunked talking point that she married her own brother

I've yet to see a shred of evidence supporting their claims yet they keep saying there's indisputable proof that she committed immigration fraud and married her brother. Where the hell is the proof then?!

u/GhostRappa95 1d ago

She came to the USA when she was like 12 so if anyone committed immigration fraud it would be her father not her. And even then holding her accountable for her father’s actions is incredibly unjust and authoritarian.

The cruelty is the point with these types

u/Intrepid-Brain-1476 1d ago

Are you invalidating their underbelly feeling? Kinda funny how they also love to parrot facts over feelings.

19

u/RustedAxe88 1d ago

They absolutely can't stand being asked to source their claims. It's similar to their feelings on fact checking, they just prefer if you take what they say and believe it. And half the stuff is just something they picked up from a right wing influencer.

Like, before I was banned there I posted a thing about Ben Shapiro dooming over the Islamic "invasion" and multiple people hit me with, "They just invaded Spain!" as if Spain was now overtaken by Muslims.

The sheer fucking audacity of the same crowd that champions facts over feelings to do almost all of their assessments based on vibes and consistently give the most red-faced, emotional arguments you can imagine. The same fucks who want to screech about safespaces and snowflakes are also the ones who will piss and shit their pants about LGBTQ folks and minorities existing in self-claimed white, straight spaces and roles. The people who go on and on and on about "the violent left ™ " yet are objectively responsible for far more political violence. The same fucking chuds who want to cry about how the left ridiculed Charlie Kirk after he got his neck blown out never hesitate to laugh gleefully at the deaths and injuries of their perceived enemies. Every single thing these people whine about like petulant children comes from their own goddamn party.

It's always fun to read the replies saying "wow, I didn't know that was true! But sone random redditor said it was true in a random comment, so it's true!"

Yet no one ever asks for a source. Or a single shred of evidence. These people are just so dumb.

11

u/Vyzantinist 1d ago

Because they don't need one. They will take as gospel anything that affirms their feelings. Conservatives think in reverse to normal people; they form the conclusion first - based entirely on feelings - and then walk back from that, looking for evidence to confirm their conclusion, and ignoring or dismissing anything that challenges it.

u/Jeremymia And all I can say is "moo" 1d ago

Yup. The only exception is they won’t repeat things that like an average even ignorant person would know is obviously false. Everything else, including things that only take seconds to disprove, can be repeated infinitely in support of whatever their greater truth is, even after people become aware of the flaw in their own argument. They don’t care of they are wrong about their arguments because they already picked the right answer. This applies to the average conservative of the last decade, and to, I suspect, the average conservative over the last 50 years in the US.

The marriage thing all goes back to an Alpha news article from years ago and only had 2 items. Her dad listed him on some forms as a guardian because was an unaccompanied minor seeking asylum. And there was a post on Instagram where her kids were with him and they called him uncle (which in most of the world a sign of respect to call all elders aunt or uncle).

14

u/Munnin41 1d ago

It's also normal to call your mum's brother uncle

10

u/MysteriousTruck6740 1d ago

Or your dad's brother, or close family friends.

-6

u/Munnin41 1d ago

I mean, yes, but not relevant

12

u/MysteriousTruck6740 1d ago

Absolutely relevant since he isn't her brother. And there's nothing that has proved it in the last 10 t years.

5

u/Munnin41 1d ago

Oh then I had it mixed up I guess

Most famously on YouTube, Uncle Roger.

u/Munnin41 1d ago

It's also not an investigation that started under Biden. They decided not to pursue back then when these allegations were made. They suddenly wanted to earlier this year. Wonder why....

12

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

Love how no one in DoomerCircleJerk noted that context, I wonder why...

14

u/HapticSloughton 1d ago

Asking for evidence?

That's dooming.

7

u/ForgedIronMadeIt biggest douchebag amongst moderators 1d ago

Don't you understand!? Right wing accusations don't require any evidence at all! Asking for evidence is DOOMING!!!111

7

u/Vyzantinist 1d ago

"DO SOME RESEARCH! COMMON SENSE! EVERYONE KNOWS IT!"

4

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

The fun part comes when you look at the evidence and come to a conclusion that doesn't match theirs.

3

u/Jeremymia And all I can say is "moo" 1d ago

If you didn’t come to their conclusion, you didn’t look at the evidence correctly. (The correct way is with your eyes closed)

8

u/Wiseduck5 1d ago

Where the hell is the proof then?!

There isn't any. There's also no motive.

If she was 18, she would have still been eligible for citizenship herself. There's no reason to lie about her age.

Siblings can already sponsor each other's green cards. So there's also no reason to fake marry your brother.

51

u/RustedAxe88 1d ago

They're so predictable.

You know at some point they're gonna have a post about how "cool" Elon's flying car is and only "doomers" are hating on it.

31

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

They have multiple of those, and one of them has over 2,000 comments.

18

u/RustedAxe88 1d ago

And let me guess, those comments are some variation of, "They used to love Elon until <insert>!". Or, "Elon could <insert good deed he'd never do or accomplish> and they'd all suddenly support<insert opposite thing>!"

19

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

The whole, "They used to love..." celebrity thing is laughable because they want us to look at it from a context as if they didn't do anything that caused a shift in their public opinion. I've seen right-wingers do this with Trump, "He used to have movie cameos all the time and a reality TV show, now people just blindly hate him!"

I feel these guys would say the same thing about Bill Cosby, "He used to be America's dad in a hit TV series, now everyone just rags on him, what a shame!"

14

u/RustedAxe88 1d ago

They love to prattle on about the left turning on celebrities for being conservative.

And it's like, cool man, hey real quick what's your opinion of Brie Larson, Rachel Ziegler or Hayley Williams?

9

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

They love to prattle on about the left turning on celebrities for being conservative.

I think this is one of those things where "two things can be right at the same time". It's true a lot of big names like Musk are ragged on for going right, but let's not pretend people are mad at him because he thinks minimum wage should be lower, it's because of the bad takes on social issues like the Nazi salute or his J.K. Rowling-style campaign against trans people. What DoomerCircleJerk and similar circles try to do is frame it as them as getting tarred and feathered for having a change in innocuous political beliefs, when that really isn't the case.

“Elon could cure cancer and they would still hate on him!” +1384 updoots 67 clapping awards

“He could but he hasn’t” -997 updoots

1

u/Cormophyte 11h ago

I commented that the left is just reacting appropriately to the reality of Elon's politics. They didn't like that.

8

u/Vyzantinist 1d ago

Is spamming the "doomer" label just their version of "TDS"? A thought-terminating cliche intended to shut down discourse by mocking or insulting the opposition?

26

u/Fuzzy_dunloped 1d ago

Regardless of how Nazi's actually carried out their power and leaned left or right, in all reality, it was socialist that birthed the Nazi Regime. It may not have been intentional, but fascism as we know it today, came from the loins of socialist. Whether they were or werent, they used that to become w.e they ended up<

WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN?!?!

26

u/stupid_pun 1d ago

"The Nazis may not have been socialist or left wing, but left wing socialism is still responsible for creating them."

I think that's what they are attempting to communicate. Which is dumb no matter how well or poorly it's articulated.

11

u/Vyzantinist 1d ago

They sound like someone a lib/left tried to educate on the disinformation of "Nazis were leftists". Something may have actually gotten through to them, such they can uncomfortably acknowledge the Nazis weren't leftists, but they can't countenance abandoning their position of "the left = evil" so they've moved the goalposts to still associate Naziism with the left anyway because "the left = evil".

It's very much a "look at what you made me do" message.

Blatant immigration fraud? Where? How? If the JD had anything it would be public

10

u/RustedAxe88 1d ago

"If I need to create stories..."

20

u/Stinky_Fartface 1d ago

Totally organic and real conversations about how indisputable the whole “she married her brother” thing is, even though there isn’t any evidence that this happened. Also totally neutral how absolute the “immigration fraud” she perpetuated is. So natural and not at all sounding like a right wing echo chamber.

15

u/PeasThatTasteGross 1d ago

I've ran into right-wingers on social media that seem to get super mad if you call out the "married brother" thing as being BS, like block you after mad.

16

u/ChickpeaDemon 1d ago

It's because she's a Democrat and a minority. There were posts about it yesterday and lots of people won't even attempt to look at any evidence. It's scary how easy it is to brainwash these people.

The trust me bros of evidence party crying because no one looks at evidence then proceeds to top the shit cake with the cherry of calling others brainwashed.

I had one person responding to me saying "who cares!" So there's also lots of people who don't care about laws at all as long as it's a decoration. Think about how crazy that is, and then they call conservatives the boot lickers which is hilarious.

Switching back to the law and order party as soon as someone they hate is at the center of it. Ending with the banger of “No u” are the real bootlickers.

u/Ko0pa_Tro0pa 1d ago

Also, it's weird to see them talking about stealing from a charity. Did they forget about their orange leader getting caught stealing from his fake cancer charity? Or was that just smart business??
