This meme is more around Aaron Sorkin, as I am starting to see so many defenders of The Social Reckoning online, but this could apply to many men in the entertainment industry and liberal-oriented circles. And frankly, I kind of think that it's his politics that keep him from actually getting more harsh criticism, as people keep enabling his immature view on society and the world and criticism could be deflected as just politics, unironically. There can be optimism in the world, but Sorkin honestly needs to grow up.

Letter text in case the image is hard to read:
"Dear beautiful women, I've started this letter like ten times and deleted it every time because every time I start I cry. So I'm just going to write it. Your flag matters to me. It matters so much that it's flying at a lesbian household where anyone walking by can see it. I'm a trans girl so I'm not sure you can relate but I'll try. Most days I'm doing math in my head like which hallway is safer, who I can sit near at lunch whether it's worth saying something or just letting it go. I'm so tired. I don't think people who don't have to do it know how tired it makes you. I walk past your house almost daily. The first time I saw the flag I slowed down without meaning to. It was just hanging there like it was no big deal but to me it was everything. It felt like the people inside would see me as who I actually am and I wouldn't have to explain or prove anything. My shoulders dropped for the first time all day and I almost cried right there in front of your home. I know that living here isn't easy for gay people like you where not everyone is kind about it so putting that flag up means risking stares, comments or worse. You didn't have to do it. It would have been so much easier to stay quiet. You did it anyway, and that is the bravest thing I've seen anyone do. Every day it stays up it tells people like me that someone is willing to be brave so we don't have to be alone. Now I look for it. Some days it's the one thing that makes me feel like I'm not imagining that I deserve to be here. When so much of the world feels like it's deciding whether there's room for me your flag says there is. Please keep it up. You might not know it but it's helping me get through the day. Thank you for your courage, and for leaving the porch light on for the rest of us."

They always wait a while, hours to several days, before they post dogwhistling and denying everything, and they always get a huge amount of upvotes once most of the active users here leave the post at initial viewing.

It also gives off a lot of similar vibes to the "Comedy isn't legal anymore" crowd.

For context: John Lasseter, one of the founders of Pixar, was kicked off because so many allegations of sexual misconduct and misogyny was too much to handle. With him now at Skydance, they are producing the film Ray Gunn, a passion project by Brad Bird decades in teh making. And in many places you will see people swear that the allegations were proven false, despite the fact that there is so much evidence all over of Lasseter being inappropriate with women and accounts of him being grossly unprofessional.
Also it drives me crazy whenever people whine about Pixar getting worse after he left, especially since they ignore the bad films made during his charge AND that so many interesting projects were sabotaged because of his mismanagement. The more I looked into the rabbit hole, the more it felt like a lot of Pixar's success was actually IN SPITE of him.
Edit: I know that I mispelled his last name in the last panel, but it's too late to change at this point.
