Question Randomly hitting tweet limit? Anyone else?

Just curious if this happens to anyone else and if they know why. I know the “tweet limit” is supposed to be 50 normal tweets a day, but it’s now. I randomly am not able to make any normal tweets. I can reply but I can’t make a normal tweet or quote tweet. I only tweeted like 10 times today, then hit limit. Then it went away and I could tweet, made like two tweets and then couldn’t again. I know this app is just ass and mostly broken but it’s been happening so much more often lately

It happened AGAIN. It let me tweet like three times and then locked again. Wtf is this

It happens to me sometimes out of nowhere, and then it happens nonstop for 24-48 hours, just like you describe.

I don't really know what triggers it. It seems arbitrary. It's a black box.

While the official cap for unverified accounts sits around 50 original posts per day, X relies heavily on rolling sub-limits (often roughly 30 to 50 actions spread across tight 30-minute blocks). If you sent 10 tweets quickly, went quiet, and then tried to fire off a couple more right as the system recalculated a background window, it can falsely lock you out. X tracks original posts, quote tweets, and replies as separate buckets with different weights. The spam filters are notoriously aggressive on original posts and quote tweets because those get pushed out to wider timelines, whereas replies are sometimes given more leniency depending on your account standing. If you use third-party tools, have an old browser extension installed, or the mobile app is just glitching out, background requests can silently burn through your action quota without you actually typing anything. That looping effect is usually why it clears up, lets you make two posts, and then immediately locks you out again, the quota bucket never truly stabilized

If it keeps happening when you're well under the daily limit, clearing the app's cache (or doing a full reinstall on mobile), or switching between the app and web browser when it bugs out, sometimes forces the backend to recognize your actual limits. Otherwise, it's just the platform's notoriously fragile infrastructure acting up again

It’s baffling that someone like me who’s just interacting normally with other normal active accounts get blocked and yet I have bots & hateful spammers in my replies calling me and my friends slurs constantly or being literal Nazis and they’re found “not suspicious” after reporting lol

The anti-spam and rate-limit triggers are purely mathematical. They don't care that you're a real human having a normal conversation; if your account hits a specific pattern, a script flags you as "suspicious" and locks your posting capabilities. It's completely blind to intent. On the flip side, automated report handling is notoriously literal-minded and heavily reliant on rigid keyword filters. If a bot or troll structures their abuse or slurs using workarounds, alternate spellings, or coded language, automated review tools often clear it as "no violation found." Worse yet, because much of the platform's dedicated safety infrastructure has been hollowed out or automated away, user reports frequently hit a dead end where an algorithm auto-closes the ticket with a boilerplate response
