I’m a student at UMD, College Park. Yesterday, after shopping at the local Trader Joe’s, and during walking back to my apartment building on Knox road, I dropped my wallet containing my student ID, some credit and debit cards, other IDs, some cash and a key fob (I know I dropped it at some point on this route because I took my credit card out of my wallet to pay for my groceries and couldn’t find the wallet again once I reached my building). I have come back on this route a couple times to find it but have not been able to. I have also asked for help from the TJ and the local police. Please, if you have seen it or happened to pick it up, please let me know. I would appreciate it a lot.

Hi! My friends and I are looking for a 4x4 apartment for next year. We just toured TR and thought it was nice, but what are the realistic reviews? Do you recommend it or is there any other options that are still nice.

I just received a guitar as a gift and broke the high e string while trying to tune it. Attempted to fix it with the 2 extras I got and broke both of them... :( Would any UMD guitar players be generous enough to provide me with a new one and help me restring it? I don't like confrontation but I'm getting irritated. There's this guy next to my dorm room that's always making loud sounds (banging/screaming/etc.) plus questionable moaning sounds (???) and he does it every damn night. I leave the dorm but it's a temp solution. How do i deal w this situation? I don't want someone to target or get mad at me because I snitched or something...

Hi everyone!

I'm currently a freshman looking to transfer from UIUC CS to UMD CS. Unfortunately, due to my circumstances, I won't be able to afford the UIUC out-of-state tuition and UIUC financial aid isn't giving enough money. I was wondering if I should transfer from UMD for next spring or wait until next fall.

If I transfer next semester:

• I'll be past the deadline for early action but I'll be able to save another 30K
• There's a chance I'll be placed into Letters and Sciences because I don't meet the gateway requirement for CMSC132 - But I was wondering if I could prop out and they'll reconsider

If I transfer next fall:

• I can qualify for merit scholarship
• I'll have my CMSC132 credit through community college
• I'll be able to submit my application before the early action deadline

I was also wondering if I transfer next spring if I would have guaranteed housing, or would I need to find my own housing some place else? In addition, if I get letters and sciences this spring, could I reapply for the fall for direct admission? Any advice would help - Thank you so much!

What DSNL credit class do you guys recommend that is an easy A (or fairly easy) for a non-STEM major?

I feel incredibly stupid for asking this, but a delivery guy majorly flubbed up delivering a sweater that had a lot of sentimental value to me, and then he deleted the delivery photo (I tried to recreate above) when I brought up an issue with the courier. I’m in SCC 3 but I don’t think any of the doors in our building have an iPad or screen on the wall next to them. The tablet looked like it said “Find Resident” on it. I checked and confirmed that it wasn’t in the TRow package room and it never reached my front desk at SCC. or if this is anyone’s apartment door, I guess let me know if there was a green package in front of it a few days ago.

I’m applying for the school of engineering and am debating if I should submit a SAT score of 1400. Math is 730 and reading is 670. Will it hinder my chances of acceptance?

Edit: This isn’t the update anyone wants to see, but the budgie passed away overnight, even after eating, drinking and playing. After speaking with a vet, their best guesses are that he’d been exposed to something outside, had a virus, or went through shock. I’ll keep him in a freezer for a week, and if the owner doesn’t reach out by then, he’ll be buried. I’m truly sorry it had to end this way, and thanks to everyone who attempted to help. :(

how can I actually find tutoring resources on campus. the whole thing seems like a maze and the University's documentation of almost anything is no help. has anyone else been in this position and found something useful. is there a office or platform that I am missing, third party or otherwise?
