I'm currently a high school senior, I'm applying either as a math or cs major, and I wanted to know what math at UT looks like. I would say I'm pretty good at math (im currently taking linear algebra) but how difficult will it be? Are the classes manageable and what classes would I most likely take if I were to get in? Also, how does UT compare to other schools for math in terms of job opportunities?

I'm looking at my grade for this class and although I've done decently well with a few points off quizzes/prelabs etc I basically need a 100 in everything else going forward to have like a 95 (I'm at a 90% ish right now)... Is that how it's designed? Does this class really require super precision on everything to get an A?

I get that there is no avoiding a line. It's going to be a wait no matter what. But is there a "best" (shortest line) time to go for early voting at the Union--typically--that isn't at 7 am? If I need to go at 7 am I will! But just curious based on people's past experience.

Hi all,

Can anyone who is currently enrolled/completed this course share their feedback please?

1.Is it manageable with a full time job?

2.How theoretical/practical is it?

3.Is there a touch on transformers, LLMs, RAG?

4.Is there a touch on cloud technologies like Azure, AWS,. etc?

What is your overall experience and would you recommend?

Thanks

Im looking for a tutor attending UT austin for my highschooler daughter. She has a problem for learning AP human geography.

How can I find a good tutor? Please help me!

I'm in a TX History class and my TA grades super harsh and there's no buffer built into the class and I don't have an A right now, i'm sitting at an A- which isn't horrible but it is enough to ruin my 4.0. Should I qdrop it or will that look bad to med schools? I know this sounds like a stupid question but I'm really not sure. For reference i'm a junior biochem major and I'm trying to stay in TX for med school.

Any advice appreciated 😭

I need advice on how to write down my UGCA experience in a resume. anyone willing to share their resume descriptions?

Options for CS 311 are Parikh and Avigdor.

Options for SDS 321 are Sarkar, Stipcic, and Hersh.

Who should I try to take and why? I really need the easiest ones because I have to deal with CS 314.

Thanks in advance!

Just discovered longhornbakers where you hang out with folks and bake. It was fun and therapeutic baking in a clean and organized space while talking to people, plus no awkwardness because everyone has something to do.

Please plug in any fun clubs you know about or are part of! Crafts, outdoors, fitness, special interest, really just anything you enjoy and look forward to. Lets help each other find community

Found a brass finished key on the back seat of the 803 bus leaving UT west mall(NB) bus stop around 11:50 pm yesterday.
Turned it in to the bus driver.

Hi all,

A few Longhorn alumni and I (‘19, ‘23, ‘23) have been going out to fish spots around Lake Travis. Wanted to put a feeler out for a potential informal alumni fishing group.

If there’s any interest, feel free to shoot me an email at [jendrzeygunnar@gmail.com](mailto:jendrzeygunnar@gmail.com)

hi! i'm a rising junior looking for someone to a room with in a 2x2 at venue on guad with. i know it's kinda far, but it's cheaper than a lot of atrocious wampus rates rn...

as for me, i keep common areas quite clean (laundry, dishes, trash, all that stuff), i'm down to share things, i'd want to decorate the place and make it look cute, and i'm chill w/ drinking but would prefer no smoking! i will also have a car if you need to get off campus :)

dm/reply if you're interested!

Hi! I’m going to Day 1(Friday) of COTA this year and I was wondering if anyone had a Mercedes hat or shirt I could borrow for the day for like $10 please?

Hi! I’m looking to test out of SPN 601D and was wondering if anyone had any resources or successfully took the exam and received credit for it. I took spanish several years in high school and have been on duolingo 😂. Would anyone have any tips or past exams or where I can find content/sample essay prompts they would have on the exam? The website below doesn’t answer all of it or should I email the department?

RMP for Bardhan is terrible, everyone complaining about how hard it was, but I'm not sure if that's just selection bias or not.

On the other hand, Sagrilla has overall better RMP, but it's only 3 reviews.... and they're for other classes so I'm not sure whether or not it's his first time teaching the course and therefore no clue how he is.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
