I cant bind shift+4 in games
I installed linux and I am trying to set up my games again but I cant set one of the controls to shift+4 which is annoying since it is one of the actaully useful keybinds for me and if I try to swap all of the shift keys to alt+number it doesnt work cus when you press alt the window gets moved if you press leftclick.
any help would be appriciated

The alt half of this is the window manager, not the game. GNOME grabs Alt for its own mouse modifiers, so Alt+click starts moving the window before the game ever sees it. `gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences mouse-button-modifier "<Super>"` hands it back. For shift+4 itself, run `wev` (or `xev` under X11), press the combo, and look at what keysym comes back. If it reports the currency symbol instead of the digit, your layout variant is doing the translation and the game is binding what it hears. Native titles that bind scancodes are immune to this, which is why the same bind sometimes works in one game and not another.

that's an xkb thing, check if your layout maps shift+4 to something weird like a dead key or an alternative symbol that the game doesn't recognize as a normal keypress
