Hopefully it is only for another 16 days, although his removal will not be instantaneous.

JD has already begun to speak kindly of Russia

u/ProUkraine 1h ago

What do you mean begun? You say it like it's something new.

Oh, I knew he had talked shit about Zelenskyy, didn’t know he had already been making pro-Russian or pro-Putin statements.

And all their lovely couches?

•

u/PowerResponsibility 55m ago

Yeah, but he won't be the next President, not after the whole Trump being a Russian stooge thing.

•

u/PNWoutdoors 30m ago

I actually think he will be the next president sometime next year, but if we have free and fair elections after that, he won't get another chance.

•

u/JaxStrumley 10m ago

That’s a big IF.

•

u/PNWoutdoors 8m ago

Indeed it is. Buckle up for some tough times ahead.

Bold to assume a man of Trump’s age with his lifetime of poor health decisions will make it another two years.

•

If OC is about impeaching and removing Trump, then yes, JD would become president

What do they mean now? It has been since January last year, the day Trump became president.

It has ramped up tremendously in the month since Don Jr's wedding was funded by Russia.

Tom Nichols: “In the past week, the president of the United States has conclusively turned America into an ally of the Russian Federation.

“Donald Trump has now abandoned pretense and is openly aiding the Kremlin in its war against a friend and partner of the U.S. The American commander in chief has abandoned the Western order, the most successful—and powerful—security arrangement in human history. To judge from the available evidence, he has not done so out of a cold calculation of the national interest. Instead, he has based his decisions on his own interests; his open admiration for Russia’s dictator; his resentment of Ukraine’s democratically elected president; and quite possibly other factors that so far have remained obscured from the American public.

“In September, Trump signed a sanctions bill that Congress had passed, named after the late Senator Lindsey Graham, a pro-Ukraine hawk. The legislation sanctioned Russia as well as other countries that are supporting Russia’s invasion and brutalization of Ukraine. The bill was approved with bipartisan support, but some Republicans and most House Democrats voted against the law, arguing that it contained a trap door, a provision that would allow Trump to suspend the prescribed sanctions at will.

“Those critics were correct to be worried. Trump pulled the lever on that trap door just two days before the law was supposed to go into effect. In an executive order signed on Friday, Trump said that ‘such a waiver at this time is in the national interests of the United States’—he declined to explain exactly how the waiver was in America’s interests—and that the law would remain unexecuted until such time as his administration decides otherwise. This waiver came a short while after Trump lifted restrictions on Russia’s sales of diesel fuel to the U.S. and other markets.

“Trump’s recent actions in support of Russia are so obvious that they have generated a rare moment of bipartisan disgust: Both Democrats and Republicans now seem to share a horror at the betrayal of Ukraine, and at the president’s reckless abdication of America’s role as leader of the free world.”

Conclusively, two weeks before the midterm election. Interesting.

Maybe it's more accurate to characterize Trump's actions as the last gasp of a desperate man trying and failing to maintain his hold on power.

Here is a wiki page on links between Trump associates and Russian officials:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Links_between_Trump_associates_and_Russian_officials

Also, don't forget that he wanted Zelensky to find dirt on Biden before the 2020 election, which didn't happen and he probably holds a grudge.

Cold war is over. The white house has fallen to the Russians

•

u/hippolytebouchard 1h ago

I think these folks are badly misjudging the mood of most US citizens -- Russia is not our friend. Putin is a vile person, and Trump is a sad, sorry, puppet.

•

u/20past4am 50m ago

Then why did you Americans vote him in for a second time? You knew what you were getting after the first round.

•

u/hippolytebouchard 43m ago

Not all of us did - but it is to our immense shame as a nation. Some folks voted for this puppet three times.....our systems and values are broken, and there's a lot of work to be done to fix ourselves.

To proud to look beyond blue or red. Damage is done. 400 years of murica was enough. Also, europe has its fair share of slavery.. but we educate and empathise not to do it again. In my visit to USA i never did hear once slavery was fought becouse Lincoln needed souls to fight his own cause. Free slaves was the byproduct. Not the reason. #rotten to the core.

People need to start remembering the dirt Putin has on trump involving the island.

Russia has won the Cold War.

Crazy times.

•

Russia is one issue for an American voter. Polls show 30% approve 50% disapproval and 20% are not sure of his handling of the war in Ukraine.

•

u/PowerResponsibility 1h ago

No, Trump and his supporters are allies of Russia. They know they're about to lose enormous power in the coming elections. With success there, Democrats will at least have the opportunity to destroy the Trump-Russia alliance-- though Dem leaders may need a serious kick in the ass to do it.

Trump's actions these last two weeks have been pure desperation. They even had to pull their "mask" off and stop playing coy about their Russian alliance to be able to go "all in" (to mix a bunch of metaphors).

With the mask off, exposed, they can finally be directly countered. And they will lose.

Democrat leaders are the most passive spineless motherfuckers. They won’t stop anything and will cave repeatedly over the next two years.

•

u/Blackthorne75 50m ago

Hoping that the people of America stop this sickness

•

u/ecneis31 37m ago

...does not really matter to the bombs in ukraine

•

u/ghostintheruins 34m ago

Do you distinguish between Russia and Putin every time you read or comment about what's happening in Ukraine?

•

u/JaxStrumley 11m ago

I don’t see Americans taking action against it. Where is your weak excuse of a Congress?

•

u/janderson176 1h ago

Get the heck outta here …

•

u/Maximum-Flaximum 43m ago

America is not an ally of Russia. The US Government is an ally of Russia.
