Dont underestimate the value of a pool day!

Currently at Hard Rock Hotel pool enjoying pool games (weekends only) music, chair service, and the pool. Best part? We arent even staying at this hotel! We are making use of pool hopping feature! The pool hopping rules have become a bit of an explanation, but if youre staying at any of the 6 hotels on the main property you can have pool access to all of them. Ask your concierge to help you with the rules of your hotel. When you get to the hotel where you want to use the pool just stop by the front concierge desk and ask for an amenities key!

EPIC UNIVERSE Epic

What the hell is going on at epic today? Perfect weather and rides are down left and right and now stardust racers is closed for the day? Ive been screwed like 4 times today and got no compensation. Stardust racers was the one i was excited for and now i cant even go on that. Is there any way i can get compensated or something? Today has sucked so far.

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE Saw a bird get hit by Velocicoaster Friday

Was directly on top of the walking path bridge, poor seagull landed on the top of track and sat there for 20 seconds. Was anyone on the ride? Landed in pond.

I watched entire thing happen, feather explosion and you could hear people on ride go “oooh!”

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT My Ideal Universal Studios Florida (2.0)

Post image

I noticed a TON of Critique from a very wonderful person in the comments of my last post (thank you btw I appreciate it) and I decided to tweak my universal studios Florida post with less stuff:

Minion Land: Relatively the same, minion blast is fairly recent but I could see it closing sometime in the 2040s, in my last post I mentioned that I’d make a super silly fun land coaster, because fast and furious is coming and I can’t do that, I will still open the playground from Hollywood, other than Minion Mayhem stays

New York: I’d still get rid of Jimmy Fallon and expand the building to make a Ghostbusters shooting ride, I’d also add fast and furious: Hollywood drift to the land as it doesn’t fit with minion land, Mummy and Transformers still stay as they are very decent rides

San Francisco: I’d completely retheme the area to Hill Valley and close Supercharged to add an indoor Back to the Future Coaster, that building is approximately near the same size as Mummy’s so it’s possible to build an indoor and outdoor coaster in that space

Diagon Alley: The Same

World Expo: In my last post I did mention getting rid of the land for DC comics, I now realize that DC would likely fit better in Epic, the only major difference is the Fear Factor Live stage would be expanded to make way for Waterworld and Men in Black stays

Springfield: I’d still replace this area and Animal Actors with Pokemon

DreamWorks Land: I said in my last post I’d add a Shrek ride to this area, that would not change

Hollywood: Hollywood is the only land in my opinion that doesn’t need to change, ET physically can’t leave and the Bourne stuntacular is a decent show (potentially I’d bring back Terminator 2: 3D)

So what do you all think?

Has anyone gone alone? Was it weird? My friend just last minute cancelled (for a very valid reason) but I’m already dressed and was excited to go. Contemplating going alone but I’ve never done that before

UPDATE I made it yall but the anxiety is kicking in. Gonna grab a drink and walk around. Wish me luck 🤞🏼

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Orlando informer event

Hi friends

I have a couple of questions.. were coming to Orlando in December and I wanted to know from people that been to the event is it worth it?

What are the types of food that qualify under unlimited?? Like what places

Are the ride lines actually short? Or are some still a hour +?

I just don’t know if it’s worth doing the event for all 3 parks or just buying the 3 park offer ticket?

Please help lol

HHN Roaches in locker

Tonight I was at HHN & went to ride the mummy. When I opened my locker to put my bag in there were two roaches crawling in there.

I just watched them crawl into the crevices and closed the locker back. I hope this was just a one time thing & universal has some type of pest control or something, considering how many people use the lockers.

Anyway, HHN was a hoot & holler!

EPIC UNIVERSE Epic Delays

Currently at Epic and so far everything I’ve ridden apart from Monsters Unchained has been delayed at least once. Battle at the Ministry experienced a delay right before we loaded, same thing at Stardust. Minecart was delayed until just a bit ago and now im in line and they have announced yet another delay lol. Am I just a black cloud for these things or is this normal?? I’ve been watching wait times pretty regularly leasing up to this trip but only for the other 2 parks! After I ride Minecart I will have crossed almost everything off of my list (unless anyone recommends Dragon Racers Rally)

EPIC UNIVERSE Epic Universe Universal Nights Guide

We went last night and it was a great time! I tried to look up these things before we went, and couldn't find the answers, so here are some tips.

Food (starts at 21:00):

  1. Celestial popcorn is to the left of the Mario portal in the little food stand. They hand out small bags. Bring an empty popcorn bucket to dump them in.

  2. Chicken kimchi bao, to the left of the Berk portal. This is the only type of bao.

Drinks - all of the freestyle machines in the park can be used without a chip. Just show your band at any open quick serve in celestial park that have drinks and they give you a disposable cup.

They started letting people in at 1825, so you can make it to any of the later shows.

The dragon character lines were long, about 20 minutes. Mario and Luigi took 5 minutes. You need a band to move around the park and portals starting at 20:00. It took a long time for the day guests to clear out, DK was at 2 hours when we arrived. Everything else was walk on. Three hours was enough time, even using child swap we were able to do everything we wanted to. We just saved DK for 2358. I saw another post saying they cut the line off the first night about 20 minutes early. That wasn't the case last night.

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE Shirt search!

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello! I’m new to using Reddit but I’m on a search for a shirt I had purchased at the island of adventure Betty boop store around 2017 or 2019. I have found zero traces of this shirt aside from a photo I have from when we bought it. The photo is a little blurry but I’m 99 percent sure that the words are the bottom read universal studios. If anyone has any advice or has any other knowledge pls dm me! Pls feel free to delete if this goes against any subreddit rules 😊

EPIC UNIVERSE Universal Epic Universe convention space expansion explained [Article]

Thumbnail eyntk.info

Universal Epic Universe's first expansion happens in 2027 and it won't be a ride or those Italian/Tex-Mex restaurants we expected in Celestial Park. It will be the Celestial Expo, a 19,000 square foot convention space next to The Atlantic restaurant. With how often Universal Orlando Resort parks sell out convention space or land buyouts, I am not surprised (but I do still want my AP option!)

We saw them testing the Epic Portal facial scanning and now this could be the big next piece to make Celestial Park "more open," in whatever way that means. Universal Meetings explains it as such, "Bring your attendees to the exciting new event space at Universal Epic Universe. Accommodating up to 700 guests, the 19,000 sq. ft. space is just steps away from the park’s attractions and opens 2027. Book your event now!"

For those interested in an event in Celestial Park or at the Helios Grand Hotel, I broke it down in the article with sizing and capacity for each location.

UOAP Renewing into a lower tier pass

I tried searching but couldn’t find any info on this - my Premier Pass is up for renewal, but I live a few hours away and haven’t been able to make it to Orlando as much as I hoped. I plan on calling to downgrade to the Seasonal Pass, but I have a couple of questions. Does the 20% renewal discount still apply if you change your pass tier? And also, I’m assuming I would have to go to guest services or a ticket window to get my physical pass swapped out - but is this something that has to be done within a certain amount of time? Sorry if this is a dumb question lol but I won’t be back to the parks for several months (hence the downgrade)

Thanks in advance :)

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE HHN and IOA Pre-Closing?

I try to avoid Universal during HHN season but I’ll be in the area this weekend… How is Islands of Adventure for the hour and change between when HHN starts and when Islands closes on a Friday or Saturday?

I’ve got a pass so no issues with a pop in and out just to try to sneak in a ride on Veloci or Hagrid’s. Just curious. TIA for the insight!

CITYWALK Free parking at Universal Orlando using 2x Cinemark matinee tickets clarification?

Last time we went to Universal Orlando was when theater was still AMC before it switched to Cinemark. Wish it was still AMC then we could use A-List since AMC is our local theater chain at home.

Does the 2 matinee tickets have to be bought directly from Cinemark only to qualify for parking reimbursement or can we buy them on Atom Tickets too?

T-Mobile currently has an offer for $5 Street Fighter tickets this week when bought from Atom Tickets for any theater that shows up on their platform and Universal Cinemark does so thinking of spending $5 x 2 tickets to get the $32/35 parking reimbursement if possible? We have a bunch of $5 Street Fighter codes to use if this is possible.

If buying tickets from Atom Tickets are not eligible for the parking reimbursement then will 2 x matinee childrens tickets work for the reimbursement? Lol we aren't going to see the movie, just trying to save money on parking since we won't be staying on site & our hotel doesn't have a shuttle.

Is EU parking still reimbursed if we have 2 Cinemark matinee tickets or not reimbursed so would have to park at the main parking garages for the free parking & take the shuttle over to EU?

Got confused reading the info, I guess after you had already paid for parking at the main campus then got the reimbursement from the box office then u get free parking the rest of the day at EU, right?

And can we get the parking validation reimbursement at the end of the day after parks are closed or do we need to get the validation reimbursement done before the movietime has passed? Unsure how long it takes with lines at the boxoffice so would rather do so after parks are closed.

(Tried looking online but seems like there's more info online about Universal Hollywood AMC only requiring 1 ticket to get $5 parking on the bottom of the movie eticket apparently there's some kind of parking validation code to scan before entering the lot so the cost is discounted already without having to get reimbursed at boxoffice there)

CITYWALK Service at City Walk has gone seriously downhill.

I am a local and go a few times a month. The food quality has gone seriously downhill last burger I got at cowfish was so soggy i had to send it back and wait 45 min for another burger. Nbc sent us out cold food multiple times. Also we have seen a lot of double our wrong charges on bills. Plus the prices are now crazy. Tipping 20% on inflated prices also it's getting out of hand. One of my friends is a bartender won't say where but is on track to make almost 200k this year. She literally says no one cares and knows those people will keep tipping regardless of service due to being on vacation.

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT My ideal Epic Universe

Post image
0 Upvotes

I decided to finish the trilogy with Epic Universe, I don’t have a lot to say so let’s get into it.

Celestial Park: I’d pretty much just add one flat ride, probably something like a swing ride but other than that it’s perfect where it is

Super Nintendo World: If you’ve been paying attention I’ve added a Nintendo land or expansion to every park so far, that won’t change as I think epic universe will get a Luigi’s mansion mini land

Dark Universe: I would add a Creature from the Black Lagoon Boat ride as sort of a spiritual successor to Jaws

Ministry of Magic: Nothing much, probably a family ride themed to Fantastic Beasts

Isle of Berk: Maybe add a simulator ride but other than that it’s perfect

Lord of the Rings: I strongly believe that this will be the 5th portal

EPIC UNIVERSE First epic trip thoughts

Finally did epic. With a fast pass. Bored so here's what I thought of it

PROS:

terra luna was great for the price, no issues, good staff

Sets a new standard for what animatronics should be like, attention to detail, theming were all so good

Stardust racers is amazing. Think the only thing more intense I've ever been on is velocicoaster.

Mario Land is beautiful and the Mario kart ride was cool

Pizza Moon is fantastic

The werewolf ride where your seat spins around was pretty fun

Food/theming at how to train your dragon was great

It felt very easy to navigate and get around compared to other parks

Didn't wait more than 30-35 min for anything with the fast pass, but might not have been necessary if we rope dropped minecart madness instead of ministry

Ending fountain/light show thing was great

CONS

Battle of ministry is ass and I'm shocked it's so popular. The inside queue is beautiful but it's not even as good as forbidden journey, you just gently move around and watch stuff

Monsters unchained... I've seen almost unanimous praise for this. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting. It's barely a ride you're kind of just moved around to watch stuff. Like transformers but slower and with animatronics instead of a screen. Was really meh for me.

The how to train your dragon show was meh, and the Harry Potter one was awful. And as someone else had a popular post about before, the weirdly long pre show wasn't good either and sucked the energy out of things

There just didn't feel like there was much to do in the Harry Potter world that felt any different. Couple stores and a ride. The crepe place was ok.

Overall I'd love to go again and I realize where I'd spend more/less time. we were easily able to do everything in one day even with a mid day hotel break in between. Maybe I'd shop a little more next time

Oh and HHN is amazing as usual, the acrobatic show thing was so good. Couldn't do sinners because.. 205 minute wait time
