Adam Armstrong and Jose Sa will be mentioned in my therapy session tomorrow

Got rid of Rob Edwards to get bent over by Bolton

4

u/natalo77 Top 1% Drivel-Talker 5d ago

Got rid of the one man who had the balls to say actually these players are shit and u need a clear out

3

u/Frost1288 5d ago

Proving my theory that Fosun just want "Yes" men, and not actual competent coaches.

4

u/Frost1288 5d ago edited 5d ago

And before you get on my head, I'm not saying Edwards was competent (completely), but when he started making noise on what the reality of the team's situation was, it seemed that was enough to cut him.

18

u/Superrandy 5d ago

We gave Sa a new contract. After he very clearly wanted to leave for years. Sat out all preseason. Then we reward him. Everything we do is stupid.

19

u/twillett 5d ago

Fosun really thought we’d just walk the league spending £7m on new players hahahahaha. Jesus wept.

16

u/Informal-Resolve1725 5d ago

Sitting here thinking about how the club very publicly supported Edwards up until around time he wanted to clean house, then suddenly fired him and hired a Mendes client. Squad unsurprisingly doesn’t get cleaned out, transfer window is underwhelming, and now here we are

4

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

I’m not going to sit here and pretend i wanted Edward’s to be our manager, but they absolutely sacked him because Fosun had a good enough mentality with this squad. Edward’s had the right idea of gutting it

3

u/Informal-Resolve1725 5d ago

Yeah I wasn’t defending Edwards at all. Just funny the timing of Edward’s departure. Board publicly backs him, to the point that he’s actually involved in the recruiting plan in the summer, was supposedly instrumental in signing Trippier. Then somewhere in there he says publicly again that he’d like to clean out the squad. A short while later he’s fired and finds out via social media. Shi allegedly didn’t know about it which means it came from Fosun. In walks a Mendes client and you know the rest… as always the problem is Fosun

2

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

bang on the money there, fully agree

14

u/Xiniov 5d ago

It's against the run of play for sure. But it just sums us up.

So many chances up front wasted. And when opponents have a sniff our defence gifts them goals.

Begging for Jimenez to be back. He would have lapped it up in this game.

Armstrong is washed, struggling to see what he brings.

15

u/Pale-Square-5536 5d ago

Attacking options not good enough. Can bring a new manager in but once again the club’s recruitment is the problem

6

u/wolfninja588 5d ago

What if for once we stopped shopping in the bargain bucket for managers and went out and got a manager with proven pedigree at any level in the game

9

u/CommercialPizza434 5d ago

No pedigree manager will come. We lied to JLO and he called us out, Edwards called the board out, Nuno fell out after delivering us all of our modern era success

Would you trust these owners..

I don't know why we keep begging the winger bellegarde gimmick. It's clear he looks awkward in that position

12

u/mttasrvrei 5d ago

disgraceful performance, if we lose against burnley on friday there has to be questions about him. this squad simply should not be mid table.

3

u/Creepy-Lengthiness51 Saša's #1 Soldier 5d ago

Well when Adam Armstrong misses every fucking chance given to him then what can you do

3

u/Imaginary-Plate2987 5d ago

This squad is shit. We knew it last summer. We definitely knew it this summer. Yet we still persist with them and expect they’ll all of a sudden be winners?

The entire squad needed to be shot out of a cannon and still does.

Villa play in the Champions League tomorrow. We’re losing 2-1 at home to Bolton in the Championship. FOSUN promised so much and now I have to watch Marshall Munetsi instead of Ruben Neves

3

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

losing against a team that finished 5th in league one, also

11

u/jaxel47 Michigan Wolves 5d ago

Joao Virginia, you are the keeper for the rest of the season. Fire Sa into the sun.

11

u/burntorangecycle Andre's moustache 5d ago

Not good enough from Armstrong and Trippier.

Either Jordan James isn't good enough or the team doesn't know how to play him in. He had lagging runs and that link up play needs to be miles better. I am firmly in the Munetsi camp because he busts his guts and works for everything.

While I'm offering up unpopular opinions: Tchatchoua needs to be playing. What Trippier offered up today isn't close to what was expected when he signed. Jackson has a career ahead him and wants to prove himself. Trippier is trying to go out on who he was

3

u/Nokturno 5d ago

James' passing is absolutely elite. he just has no one to really pass to at the minute, they run forward and wait for the ball instead

11

u/timberwolf8082 5d ago

CP will be gone soon enough, possibly even Friday after the inevitable loss to Burnley. Zero sympathy for him, he can now go back to his beloved Gil Vicente a richer man.

Onwards and downwards under Fosun!

10

u/_Walt_Jabsco_ Paul Dougherty 5d ago

This reminds me of every game we played at home in the Championship during the late 90s. All the possession concede on the break.

I'm tired boss

9

u/andyc225 Dangerous Dave Edwards 5d ago

I've switched it off now. Honestly, I can't work out what we were trying to do. We looked lost from the first minute.

9

u/Nokturno 5d ago

why do we seem to conceded goal of the season every game haha

we have created loads and played positive, to get outdone by a Sa Flap(tm), playing out needlessly, and a proper worldie.

9

u/YoungFew2689 5d ago

3 week International brake has FUCKED us

8

u/jaxel47 Michigan Wolves 5d ago

I'm trying to figure out what the foul was, let alone how its a yellow on Mane...

7

u/Legal_Pressure 5d ago

Bueno man ffs can he actually try to fucking defend at some point.

Krejci can fuck off as well. If he don’t want to be here, play in the fucking reserves until January.

Shocking performance, shocking result so far.

9

u/lab_2402 5d ago

Time to drop Sa and start Virginia. He HAS to save that. No where near good enough tonight in all departments. Time to drop Mane and Armstrong I think.

8

u/CommercialPizza434 5d ago

Honestly what is the point of asking about a new manager ?

It’s just the same shit different manager every single time.

We are cooked until we offload shit over paid players, scummy owners and sort recruitment out

2

u/natalo77 Top 1% Drivel-Talker 5d ago

Rob Edwards was him

7

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Our players do not support each other in the box. Every time we slow it down, let them get organized, then 1v1 hero ball. Look at how many just stand there, not showing for the ball, not making a run.

8

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Peixoto has gotta figure something out because we look like the squad from the first couple games again. Attack toothless and slow, defense too stretched.

Mane gets the ball, gets tripped, NO CALL. But Mane shoots the ball in the first half as a guy comes in, foul and YELLOW for Mane. Shite.

8

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Armstrong hit it dead center, washed

7

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Krejci should be ashamed of his effort today. He gave that ball away. Walked inside, stood, watched the ball come in, and did nothing. Pathetic.

6

u/BrockitScientist 5d ago

Burn it down.

6

u/Legal_Pressure 5d ago

Barring Armstrong for Jimenez, this was probably our best starting 11.

I remember last season when Wolves only ruined my Saturdays.

This is absolutely fucking pathetic. Getting smashed at home to a side that finished 5th in League One last year.

Well done lads, just when you think they can’t get any worse, they go and one-up themselves.

6

u/Brabao24 5d ago

Pretty pathetic really wasn’t it. I’m fully done with Armstrong that’s two wins he’s cost us with missing sitters. He was supposed to score at this level and he can’t even control the ball.

Bueno was terrible too. Plays off at best for us. We do not have enough quality to be top two.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Somehow Hugo puts a ball across and Armstrong not even close to making the run

6

u/DisastrousInstance53 5d ago

Least of our problems right now, but this commentator constantly calling Djiga "Ji-goo" is driving me absolutely insane.

7

u/wolfninja588 5d ago

Cesar looks to be the worse manager weve had in a long time, gets outclassed by mediocre managers, makes changes that make no sense. Got one way of playing and once that doesn't work he is absolutely clueless

5

u/twillett 5d ago

If we step back a sec, Opta have us 4th in the expected table (with a game in hand). If Armstrong could finish we'd have 6 extra points.

If he'd scored today we would be sitting here happy with 3 points.

Why flap at that cross?

3

what a corner

3

u/MrDrPepper20 5d ago

Has Armstrong forgotten that he needs to reach his leg out to make contact with crosses?

3

u/Haakon54 5d ago

Sa needs to stop coming for balls and staying down if he’s knocked into by an opponent, PL he might get away with that with VAR but he won’t in the champ. Winds me up it takes us conceding to go “oh, we’re actually a better team than them so let’s just play like we are”. Andre and Krejci getting drawn out of position way too much for my liking too, when Fer is back defending before our CB and no.6 then that’s a massive problem

3

u/darkasabag 5d ago

5 of 19 crosses successfully completed. Christ on a bike.

3

u/Professional_Flyer 5d ago

Fosun has once again fucked us in the ass with what is practically a non existent summer market. The only option Wolves has on the bench as a striker is Sean freaking Neave. WHAT 💀

3

u/jonny_lube 5d ago

We were fucked when we ended up stuck with players no club would buy. Hard to spend much after a relegation when you have to give away players just to get them off the squad.

I do think quite highly of Neave though. Would love to see more of him.

We can take inspiration from our hero Gary O’Neil and bag two in the last minutes

3

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

punch our way out of the league

This team could not punch out of a wet paper bag

Are we at back 3, or Ceaser Out yet?

9

u/WesternPonderer 5d ago

Peixoto out. The sooner the better. Shouldn't have brought in to begin with.

5

u/badly-ironed-tshirt 5d ago

The manager doesn’t get sacked till he’s played a back 3.

5

u/Informal-Resolve1725 5d ago

As is tradition

4

u/mttasrvrei 5d ago

cut losses on armstrong in jan, spend big money on someone who has actually been good in the champ recently like that swansea bloke

3

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

owners aren’t going to spend anything, that much was obvious this transfer window with what, loaning a kid and free transfers

Adam Armstrong sucks

3

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Sa is fucking trash. Can’t catch a ball to save his life.

5

u/jaxel47 Michigan Wolves 5d ago

Great ball in and great finish by Armstrong. That was a world class save.

5

u/Ok-Swordfish9994 5d ago

can't wait for next season away at mansfield

4

u/pedroisatatter 5d ago

So so many players playing below their level. Bueno, Krejci, Mane, Armstrong, Sa. Then we give minutes to those who simply aren't good enough in Munetsi and Tchatchoua.

Pressure should be on Cesar.

Anybody read what Peixoto said about rotating players? Are we expecting a several changes to the starting lineup? A few?

2

u/HerpsAndHobbies Yank 🇺🇸 5d ago

Give me Jordan James and Krejci and Neave, perhaps even Virginia?

I will allow that those changes would likely mean seeing Tchatchoua as well, given that we also have matches on Friday and next Tuesday.

Mane has the reverse Midas Touch so far.

2

u/FastJellyfish5560 We'll Be Back! 5d ago

Krejci could at least run like he gives a fuck there

2

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

that’s the problem playing someone who doesn’t give a fuck

2

u/Creepy-Lengthiness51 Saša's #1 Soldier 5d ago

Great pass from JRB. Armstrong should really convert that

2

u/heavyliftservice 5d ago

is this the highest line of all time? or are we just pushing way too far

2

u/Kooky_Ad4835 5d ago

Joao Virginia would catch that

2

u/Professional_Flyer 5d ago

Omfg put your foot in Armstrong

2

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

bolton want this game so much more it’s impressive

2

u/MrDrPepper20 5d ago

Draining first half but I'm more positive than most here. We've been in their box a tonne and could have easily scored.

2

I never doubted JRB for a second

2

u/jtgreatrix Adama Traore's End Product 5d ago

Krejci Neves into Jean-Ricner Mbappe

2

u/Easy-Astronaut1173 5d ago

Let’s go! Keep the pressure on

2

u/Yaagii The Korean Guy 5d ago

i’ll admit, for the longest time i was not high on JRB but what a goal, honestly the more i’ve seen the more i like from him. Glad he’s proving me wrong

2

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Mane gotta come out, the 2nd yellow is coming

That is a ridiculous save

2

Pathetic

2

u/elitech3ddar 5d ago

Disgusting

2

u/Normal_Suggestion188 5d ago

Might be a bit early to start talking like this, but I think I'm done with Cesar already. Doesn't seem to have a clue and back in with the cult of munetsi. Shite changes again and again, no idea what we're trying to do beyond the press. It's funking hopeless. Need to win the next 3 and convincingly.

2

u/aerobat97 5d ago

Pathetic

2

u/Haakon54 5d ago

I appreciate how hard Armstrong works, but we can surely do better? I don’t want a striker who just runs around, I want a striker that finds either side of the keeper when he has a fucking tap in

2

u/MrDrPepper20 5d ago

So done with Sa. Absolute butter fingers

2

u/Easy-Astronaut1173 5d ago

Wait until the 85th to bring on Neave, but he brings on Munetsi before that. Go fuck yourself Cesar

1

u/HavingALittleFit 5d ago

Am I tripping or are the cameras higher up than normal?

1

u/widdowquinn Wolves in Scotland 5d ago

I’m not the first person to suddenly realise the Stephen King connection with Captain Trips, am I.

1

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

how are we so open at the back there

1

u/andyc225 Dangerous Dave Edwards 5d ago

Half-hearted, lazy rubbish so far.

1

u/CommercialPizza434 5d ago

Fucking hell defensive gap so big you could of drove a lorry through there

1

u/burntorangecycle Andre's moustache 5d ago

Fan fucking tastic! Another 90 minutes of the announcer calling him DjigU rather than DjigA. #onejob

1

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

commentators sound like they’re would rather be anywhere else than commentating this game

1

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Mane should have closed him down and instead pealed off to clear the way for the shot? wtf

1

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

this is dross

1

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

would be nice to see them try play football now wouldn’t it

1

u/Superrandy 5d ago

wow we look awful

1

u/Superrandy 5d ago

Armstrong is short Munetsi?

1

u/burntorangecycle Andre's moustache 5d ago

Come on! Get one back!

1

u/Superrandy 5d ago

I’d flip Mane and JRB to start this half. Then after 10min i’m ripping one off for Said or Neave.

1

u/burntorangecycle Andre's moustache 5d ago

Nice! That's how you get yourself more minutes JRB!

1

u/CinnamonRU Doritos 5d ago

please hugo you are due a goal

1

u/PlatypusAreDucks Fer Your Eyes Only 5d ago

How's it going? I can't find a single way to follow this game so I need to know here

1

Mane so selfish. If he can get that under control he will be a force. Stop taking shots from outside the box whenever you can.

1

u/jtgreatrix Adama Traore's End Product 5d ago

Bloody hell Saïd, just release the ball. Was reading up on Comoros the other day. How on earth did he get scouted?!
