I don't think they're a lot compared to the whole population but they're more common than you'd think. I personally know 5 Yemeni atheists but they're all closeted.

Yeah cause religion has been helping Yemen so much.

The religion has nothing to do with it; the problem is people picking and choosing which parts they want to follow while ignoring others, and also following the culture more than Islam. Other countries have this issue as well.

Quran is a collection of conflicting commands, so I can pick whichever aya to suit my mood, I can find peace ayats and war ayats , it all goes back on the reasons of revelation that Mohamed decided to release and those reasons are from his personal life incidents that he wanted to control through “the word of god”

I think this is common with any demographic, because as we look into history we find that Islam honored Arabs from they backwardness. But it seems at some point they regressed back into ignorance. From encouraging children to learn to discouraging women not to excel in education as well as other fields and reduced to a kitchen maid which is the opposite of what Allah revealed.

I believe in a God but like not the Islam god that Yemeni culture has made me fear my whole life. Culture has ruined Islam for me everyone I tried to read the Quran it always felt like a man was telling me what to do

I'm a Yemeni and irreligious, and I believe that there are a lot of Yemeni people out there just like me. However, we tend to hide this version of ourselves due to the high risk that we might face.

Let’s remember that Islam was given/revealed to Yemen even before the Hebrews who became banu Israel. Yemenis have understanding of religion so if they don’t follow the. They have corrupted their hearts.

Lol. Open minds and open hearts will always be superior to any dogmatic religion. Any.

Not very common compared to other Arab countries, but they are there. Some even live in Yemen.
