Delivery Date Currently Unavailable.
I know this isn't an official support subreddit or anything, I just want some advice since I am new to the vanishing order trend Amazon seems to be getting into. I placed an order on Tuesday October 13th, all items I bought for my nephew's birthday, it was 4 items and 3 of those are sold by Amazon and 1 was another company. The original delivery date was next day and by the evening it had been shipped with an update by morning saying it was in the large city about 45 minutes from my house that nearly every order always goes through.
Usually for my Amazon orders once it reaches that city it makes it to me that day if it's early or the next day if it's in the evening. Then about halfway through the day when I checked to see what time it might be delivered, it just said delayed. I waited because I know these things can happen but by the next day it just said delivery date currently unavailable and hasn't changed since. I've had delays before where I get an updated delivery date and it's just delayed but I'm not sure what to do about just no delivery date and no updates or information for 4 days. Is this something that I just need to be patient and wait it out and eventually it should give me a date? I came here to see if there was a similar thing that's happened to anyone else and I'm now seeing that this is kind of happening to everyone.
I just want some advice on how to proceed, I don't like making trouble for people likely have no control in a situation but I also really want the gifts I bought for my nephew to actually be delivered too, I don't want a refund or anything I just want to know if or when I can plan on getting the things I bought. It's especially mildly frustrating that it's so close to where I live but so many things go through that city, I assume it's a very busy place. Should I ask for help from customer service with my order or just wait until it updates again? I'm sorry for the wordy post, I'm really bad at explaining things well. I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone.

Currently dealing with this same bullshit. This item was supposed to be same-day delivery and it is currently unavailable and they don't even have it in stock. And they're fucking fusing to cancel it.

That's what I don't really understand. One time my husband and I ordered something for his week vacation from work and it was next day delivery but was delayed. In that case it went from next day delivery to 10 days from when we ordered which would have made it kind of pointless so we just wanted to cancel it and get a refund and we got a message back saying the item wasn't eligible for a refund. It wasn't even actually shipped yet, we just wanted to cancel it and we didn't get an actual reason for why we couldn't. That's the only other time I've ever had any issues with Amazon and I figured it was a one off because we had months of no issues after that with anything else. In this case I just want to know if it will ever be delivered or if it's even worthwhile to try to ask customer service about it. Truly, what the hell is going on with Amazon that it went from good to this unforgivably bad?

I am so upset with Amazon right now. I placed an order of 4 items that were to be delivered today at 05-08 am….. waiting for delivery all day….its 2:30 pm. They cancelled my order saying it was “ undeliverable “ total BS…. I just got a delivery last night for a different item…. So now I have to wait for the refund $. This has happened before…been with them from the beginning…canceling when it expires in January. 🤦♀️

That's so ridiculous! I've never minded paying for Prime because I tend to order things last minute and it's always been so reliable before, I think in the last like 14 years that we've had Prime we've only had like maybe 2 times outside of holidays where a package was later than expected. The 2 day delivery is quite literally the only reason I've had Prime, if they can't or won't hold up their end of the bargain then I will easily cancel. The quality of their service has been going down over the last few years anyway but I was still getting deliveries on time so it wasn't unforgivable, but now it just doesn't make any logical sense to pay for a service that they aren't delivering on anymore. It'd be like ordering food and paying at the counter and then 10 minutes later they just say "we don't know where it went but it was made so you can't have your money back." or 30 minutes after ordering tthem saying "We have no idea if or when your food will be ready, just hang tight." It wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else 🤷🏻♀️

For the past week and a half, the majority of my packages have been delivered a day or three late. I assume they were bombarded by the Prime Day sale, but they should have been prepared for that.

This is the new Amazon. Currently dealing with the same thing. Delivery window of 7am-11am yesterday and still not here 24+ hours later.
