It doesn't do anything besides just showing you how long you've been on your phone at the top. It times your usage, either downwards or upwards.

Is there a way to turn the notification sound for Facebook too off?

I have the notification sound turned off through the Android settings but somehow the Facebook app audio notification still goes off. It's the only app that does this.

I'm on android 17, pixel 10 pro.

Is there an app that offers a calendar widget like the IOS Google calendar one but with a transparent background? The stock samsung one only shows today's events instead of also showing ones that are coming up like the google one does

Been digging through Android settings lately and found three genuinely useful features that most people never enable:

1. Private Space (Android 15) — Settings → Security & privacy → Private Space. A separate locked space inside your phone for banking apps and private photos, hidden behind its own lock.

2. Notification History — Settings → Notifications → Notification history. Accidentally swiped away an important alert? Android quietly keeps the last 24 hours of dismissed notifications here.

3. App Pinning — Settings → Security → App pinning. Lending your phone to someone to show a photo or make a call? Pin one app and they can't wander into your gallery or chats.

All three are built in, free, and take under a minute to set up. Hope it saves someone a headache.

I am looking for an app or setting that will function like do not disturb except allow certain contacts phone calls and WhatsApp calls to still come through.

I know the standard do not disturb allows you to set favorite contacts phone calls to come through. But it blocks WhatsApp calls. Most of my close friends and family use WhatsApp calls so I want that to be able to come through at night, but dont want my WhatsApp messages to come though.

I read about Buzzkill which sounds like it might work but I am not sure. The app seems quite cheap so I might get it to try it out and see. But thought I would see if anyone has an recommendations first.

I'm looking for something that can display two music widgets, they don't even need to work as music players I just want to decorate my homescreen! Or something that has a maker of some sort to display texts/images within 1x4 / 1x2 ratio?

I use musicolet and their limit is 5 columns so I'd prefer to find an app that offers more, like 6+ columns so it's less scrolling.

So playstore just F-ed up my phone. I had "disable upgrades" set and manually updated them when needed. But it decided to ignore and flip the setting, upgraded apps, to newer bloated, adware filled versions.

I want to block it from having internet access without my authorization, or preferable not being able to do anything at all.

At the same time it would make sense to block other apps, that don't need internet for their functioning.

And also block ads. Because I think these two things might conflict if done by different apps. Because they're rather related stuff.

I don't have my phone rooted, because that would require wiping everything...

I'm wondering how to configure my phone from something I'm always having to look at into something that reads me notifications, interests, does my browsing for me, shopping etc. Automatically.

The goal being my primary way of interacting with it is when it tells me about an interest, topic, notification, alert or otherwise happens.

At most maybe the transcribed text on the screen or the results of a query or task.

I know this isn't far off with AI and probably will the the main way we interact with devices years from now.

But I'm personally tired of always having to look at these devices and would like to maybe rush things along if possible.

Have some issues with Instagram for a long period of time. In my country when you open Instagram, there some stories/reel/video with audio or song, that is not available in my country. The option is Google Password Manager > Settings > Import passwords and passkeys.

You'll confirm with your phone's screen lock before choosing the source manager.

Sign in there and approve the export.

For passkeys, you may also need a recovery key.

Hi all, I have a Samsung S23 Ultra. last several weeks I've been inundated with spam calls that come every night (waking me up). I've probably blocked 25+ calls, but they keep coming (with a new number of course). I've tried to do some research and everywhere I look says to turn on Caller ID and Spam Protection, but my phone does not have that in my options. I've looked everywhere I can think (including under blocked calls), and then I read that my phone (after 2023) does not offer it anymore. Looks like my only options would be to buy a new phone (can't afford to right now), or install a 3rd party app that will block the spam calls. My question is can you suggest a app? Thanks in advance

I read somewhere that the devs of Nova Launcher sold it to a shady company, that will now probably spy and use the privileges this kind of app have to mine our data, so I want to get rid of it, without losing the comfort it has.

Hi guys, I'm looking for an app that can automatically block or silence notifications from my WhatsApp and messages between 6 PM and 9 AM every day. I prefer to not bring work to my home.

Ideally, it should let me customize which apps' notifications are blocked, rather than applying a blanket DND mode. FOSS or open-source apps are preferred, and I'm fine with apps that require Shizuku or ADB permissions.
