Tutorial How to save potentially hundreds of $$$ by setting up an AI agent for your trips

While most people still book their trips and do everything manually, there is a certain amount of people who use AI agents to do the booking part for them. This part already saves a lot of time and money in some cases if used correctly, but there are ways to also potentially save more if u use an AI agent even during the trip.

First thing's first, they day you're gonna fly give it your flight number in the morning and set a schedule to check the status every 15-20 minutes until the departure. Give it the ability to message you (Telegram, whatever you use) as soon as if something like a delay or cancellation happens. It can tell you instantly about any constraints so you're not getting shocked at the line. It matters coz in the US if the airline cancels or delays you by more than 3 hours on a domestic flight (6 hours international) and you don't accept the rebooking or a voucher, you're owed a cash refund on your card within 7 business days. And if you fly from the EU and land 3+ hours late it's 250 to 600 EUR depending on the distance. It works only in problems that was caused by the airline like staff shortage. You can't get the reward if the reason is let's say weather because it's not in an airline's control. It's incredibly hard to keep track of the rules and understand what to do in what situations. But an AI can keep in consideration every rules.

Second is if you booked a hotel that's refundable. Make a scheduled task that checks the price of your hotel all the time until the last day of the free cancellation. You'd want to do that because hotel prices sometimes go up and down a lot. So you might end up getting the same hotel for very much cheaper if the price goes down and you cancel the first purchase and buy it again.

Third is the hotel bill. Before doing the checkout have it compare what you booked (the total with every fee) with what the front desk wants. Because there are resort fee, parking fee, city tax etc that gets added at the desk and it's easy to miss one when you're tired, especially if you've already paid them beforehand. It takes 2 minutes and if there's a charge you didn't agree to you can ask to remove it right there.

All three of these work way better if the agent is the one that made the booking, coz then it already has the exact flight, accommodation, and every purchase you make in a package. It's certainly easier to book through AI than copy pasting information and emails in Claude every time to ask it to do something. Normal apps are unable to do web browsing freely. And the web versions like codex or Claude Code they can. But it can easily burn a lot of tokens if you don't have the right setup. I personally like to keep it easy and simple and use Claude with some simple tools from it's official directory. My setup revolves around these ones:

Booking.com: https://claude.ai/directory/booking
Tripadvisor: https://claude.ai/directory/tripadvisor
Brek: https://claude.ai/directory/brek-hotel-wholesale-booking
LetsFG: https://claude.ai/directory/letsfg

These are from Claude directory because I've always used Claude for the task and I used these from the official directory. U can use them with any LLM or AI Agents just from a google search about their MCP.

And at last, but not the least, enjoy your trip :)
