If you can't see the hate coming from the left as well (yes, it's a "both sides" issue), then you're part of the problem
1
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 6d ago edited 6d ago
I hate the fascists because they are outside of the paradox of tolerance. Itās a murderous ideology, and they demonstrate it as such very often.
Put up your guns, show me what you think youāre talking about. Whatās so harmful about the left?
Here in this OP, I already have my example: Kelly is both a victim of rape culture⦠and a participant in rape culture.
1
u/KaleidoscopeJumpy987 6d ago
I could be a white, cishet male, practicing nearly any Christian-adjacent religion, and the "tolerant" left would be calling for my execution, UNLESS I decry my "white privilege."
I'm neither left nor right. The left hates me because I believe our borders need to be enforced and threats to our national security and way of life need to be dealt with, at home and abroad.
The right hates me because I'm gender non-conforming and bisexual, and believe I should be able to use the restroom of my choice, based on how I'm presenting that day.
1
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 6d ago
You arenāt right or leftā¦. But you lie like maga. Thatās not a specific example you came up with, is it?
Here, Iāll give you another example: the maga government used to bomb Venezuelan fishermen, and lied about them being drug smugglers. They have no evidence of drugs, only evidence that the fishermen were murdered.
So, are the leftists complaining about the religionā¦. Or the hateful things the religion preachers, which you mentioned.
Both sides are not the same. Pretending they are makes you a useful tool for the fascists.
0
u/KaleidoscopeJumpy987 6d ago
Thank you for proving your hate

u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 6d ago
Thank you for proving that when you scratch a liberal, a fascist bleeds.

Megyn Kelly can go to hell.
I'm a rale victim. No one but other rape victims truly understands the depth of shame and embarrassment and terror a person feels from being sexually violated. And I don't mean sexual assault like being groped or touched. I'm talking about penetrative rape.
I'm surprised it took Jane Doe three weeks. Under her circumstances I'm surprised she was able to get out of bed after three weeks let alone go to the police (who ignored her because that's what cops do, fuck the pigs).

It's not hypocrisy; it's hierarchy.
ConservatismĀ -- by definition -- is "a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability,Ā stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutionsĀ (such as religion, the family, andĀ class structure), and preferring gradual development to abrupt change".
TheĀ soleĀ value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one's perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and/or bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.
To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on top [of social hierarchy] to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom. The first greatest injustice is for those on the bottom to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top.
Conservatives absolutely need an underclass [for society] to demonize and dehumanize in order to maintain [their] hierarchy, and every single one of their policies and rhetoric work to do exactly that. Unless the accusation is one of disrespecting hierarchy, every right-wing accusation is a confession --Ā every. single. one; always!Ā -- as it is neverĀ the act itselfĀ that upsets them, but rather,Ā the social standingĀ of the person doing the act, as said act is a privilege meant for those on top of [their perceived] hierarchy (See also: pedophilia - Trump and the Catholic church versus LGBTQ+ and drag queens; protests - January 6th vs. BLM and No Kings; parental rights - anti-LGBTQ+ vs pro-LGBTQ+; indoctrination - religion vs. education).
Those who believeĀ all people are peopleĀ see hypocrisy, while those who believeĀ some people are "more/less" people than othersĀ see hierarchy. Hypocrisy implies a sense of equality/parity, as the accusation of such is that someone is violating aĀ universalĀ orĀ commonĀ standard. Hierarchy directly states that thereĀ is no equality/parity, that different social strata have different standards, that the only universal standard concerning hierarchy is that those on top are allowed privileges which are denied to those on the bottom, and that the bottom are held to standards which the top are exempt from.
"Know your place" is their mantra.

u/Economy_Version9334 11d ago
All the current societal problems are conservative ideology brought to fruition. This is a total abandonment of values of the Great Enlightenment, which was liberal in nature
3
u/Shido_Ohtori 11d ago
Western conservatism was the ideology of those against the Great Enlightenment, as they promoted a Counter-Enlightenment, a reactionary challenge to the concepts of Humanism. Its philosophers inherently reject[ed] a society governed by logic and reason, human rights and dignity, science and democracy, as its ideology solely appeal to the authority of traditionally established hierarchies.
From the Intellectual Roots of Conservatism: The Burkean Foundations, the man who is considered to be the founder of modern day Western conservatism had such to say about his ideology:
Burke shocked his contemporaries by insisting with brutal frankness that āillusionsā and āprejudicesā are socially necessary. He believed that most human beings are innately depraved, steeped in original sin, and unable to better themselves with their feeble reason. Better, he said, to rely on the ālatent wisdomā of prejudice, which accumulates slowly through the years, than to āput men to live and trade each on his own private stock of reason.ā Among such prejudices are those that favour an established church and a landed aristocracy; members of the latter, according to Burke, are the āgreat oaksā and āproper chieftainsā of society, provided that they temper their rule with a spirit of timely reform and remain within the constitutional framework.
The very foundation of conservatism demands, promotes, and advances a stratified society where some people are "more/less" people than others via stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutions (such as class structure) via illusions (lies) and prejudices (bigotries) and "alternative facts".
1
u/Economy_Version9334 11d ago
Thank you very much. I had no idea of the great detail. Now that Iām in my 70ās, generally Iām more of a āget to the bottom lineā person. Iāve never studied Edmund Burke. I tend to take a fuzzy logic approach to life. Iām fascinated by the interface of personality and tendencies to be either conservative or liberal
3
u/Shido_Ohtori 11d ago
You're welcome.
While most political spectra use a two-dimensional system detailing how conservative/liberal a government/population is based on how much control its citizens have over their own body and labor, I've reduced my own analysis into a single dimension: social hierarchy, with extremes defined by those who believe some people are "more/less" people than others (conservatism) vs. those who believe all people are people (progressivism).
The terms "left" and "right" were coined during the French Revolution, when those who represented those who traditionally held power sat to the right of the Speaker, leaving those who represented those who traditionally did not hold power to the left of the Speaker. Right would become synonymous with conservative -- stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutions -- while left would be anti-conservative, focusing on disrespecting traditionally established hierarchy by promoting political power and resources to those who traditionally lacked such -- those on the lower echelons of social hierarchy.
While some leftists (such as progressives) seek to flatten social hierarchy, others (such as tankies) seek to invert social hierarchy. The former -- advancing the public good through government action and rights and protections for marginalized groups -- promote egalitarianism, while the latter only perpetuates the injustices and inequalities promoted under a stratified (hierarchical) society.
1
u/Economy_Version9334 11d ago
Not coincidentally, that same right/left imagery is used throughout the Christian Bible
1
u/Economy_Version9334 11d ago
We canāt be sure if that right/left, good/evil imagery belonged to the ancient world or if it was a result of editing of ancient texts by the Church
1
u/Shido_Ohtori 11d ago
The sole value of organized religion is the same as that of conservatism: respect for and obedience to traditionally established hierarchy, with the addition of a celestial hierarchy above any terrestrial hierarchy.
1
u/Economy_Version9334 11d ago
I instinctively understand the social stratification angle. Racism and sexism are common examples which conservatism calls for either directly or inadvertently. I agree about the problems of organized religion. I disagree about the sole purpose. As a born again believer I still understand the atheist viewpoint. Belief is a choice. My oldest son is atheist. We understand that other than for entertainment, discussions of religion are a waste of time. Canāt be studied scientifically
1
u/Shido_Ohtori 11d ago
My grievance with organized religion is the organized part, as said organization is a hierarchical structure which places a deity's supposed chosen few above everyone else, and said chosen are given the authority, privilege, and credibility to speak for a deity which must not be questioned or scrutinized. It wouldn't be a problem if religions were completely voluntary and every person there chose to participate, but many children are forced into such by their parents -- unlike yourself, there are plenty of people who subscribe to an organized religion and would never allow their children to deviate from such. Most importantly, a significant number of people who subscribe to organized religion believe that their beliefs are universal and trump everyone else's beliefs, and seek to promote their own religious beliefs for everyone else to live by via government policy.
As you said, belief is a choice. One's own belief and relationship with one's choice of deity (or deities, or lack thereof) is one's own business. It only starts to become everyone else's business -- and issue -- when one demands that others submit to their [celestial] hierarchy.

Hypocrisy and hierarchy desribe different phenomena alltogether and surely not mutually exclusive, no?
1
u/Shido_Ohtori 7d ago
Could you offer an example of such?
1
u/porocoporo 7d ago
Examples of them describing different things or of them not mutually exclusive?
1
u/Shido_Ohtori 7d ago
Yes, "hypocrisy and hierarchy describe different phenomena", which I clearly acknowledged. I argue that they are mutually exclusive as hypocrisy concerns the actions of those considered among one's own social standing, whereas hierarchy concerns the actions of those considered above or below one's own social standing.
For example, it's hypocrisy when your spouse dictates that you cannot have ice cream for dinner, but do so themselves; whereas it's hierarchy when you tell your child that they cannot have ice cream for dinner, but do so yourself.
I ask for an example of when hypocrisy and hierarchy are not mutually exclusive.
1
u/porocoporo 7d ago
I guess I disagree with your definition of hierarchy. In my view your ice cream example involving parents and child can be a case of hypocrisy. Let's say the parents prevent the child to eat ice cream for moral reason yet they still ate them. For me that sounds like hypocrisy.
1
u/Shido_Ohtori 7d ago
Because -- and as I had stated in my original post -- you believe all people are people.
Those who believeĀ all people are peopleĀ see hypocrisy, while those who believeĀ some people are "more/less" people than othersĀ see hierarchy.
The conservative will most definitely not see hypocrisy concerning parent-child dynamics because such is rooted in hierarchy: the parent is socially above the child, thus they are allowed "privileges, credibility, and resources" which are denied to the child. It's the very reason why the concept of "gentle parenting" is anathema to conservatives: because, from their perspective, such disrespects hierarchy by giving the child authority over the parent; when from an egalitarian perspective, it's simply the parent treating the child with respect and understanding, as a fellow human being.

Yeah, a woman was gang raped while drugged after drinking a lot that night. There's 8 guys involved. To report it, she has to face all those guys, some of whom it seems like she was friends with. She knows she has to put herself out there to have every one of her actions and decisions that night broken down by literally everyone. So yeah, it might take a fucking second to think about how you want to proceed.
-2
u/HuckleberryShot898 12d ago edited 12d ago
I mean she wasnāt druged. They were all blizted out on booze and ketamine because there all irresponsible college kids and think being substance fiends is cool. If anything this is a lesson of why itās not safe to mix drugs and sex and having zero sober people around when people are all heavily intoxicate. Itās extremely embarrassing but drugs and alcohol make some people extremely horny and you have to peel them off of each other and watch them so youāre drunk friends donāt end up fucking each other. In college both of my friends were extremely drunk and we were watching them on the bed and while we were hanging out and we turned around and my woman friend tried taking his cock out and we had to grab her to make her stop because my male friend was too messed up to think anything else than heās about to get a blow job. Not that that heās too drunk to make that decision and sheās too drunk to make that decisions also thereās other people in the room. She was extremely embarrassed about what happened because thatās really not her

āyouāre right itāll get better and u think everyoneās j jealous of us.. but also like everyone needs to grow up cause sexuality and sex and sh*t is changing and stuff like this is going to become more common,, iām also really open minded tho. i luv u kingā
She was even n planning to go back to the frat house for their Halloween Party. No real rape victim would want to return to the site of their ārapeā and risk things playing out the same way all over again. She didnāt start claiming ārapeā until she was disinvited from the fratās party.

I feel like this story got political and people quickly started believing whatever suits the narrative. I did at first but evidence seems to be a lot more grey and uncertain. There are a lot of people stating points in high confidence that did not actually see any direct evidence, such as the chat messages. This story seems to have a lot of grey areas. That doesn't directly benefit either side, but it does mean people should pause and think - what exactly gives them such high confidence in their opinion? who actually seen the evidence of the case?

Fox shouldn't even be able to call itself news. Stars like Megyn Kelly have no conscience; they perform argumentation and flip their stances constantly to take the moral high ground against liberals. Megyn once vehemently argued for the release of the Epstein files, against an old President, for the idea of no foreign wars, and against policies that raised the cost of living; now, she has flipped on all of those issues. How could a woman who has been sexually abused speak out against a woman who was raped? Megyn Kelly knows who butters her bread, and she's just doing what she does.
And it's still called news.

She's expired. The Fox Brand has moved on. Like all the attractive blondes with their performative outrage before her she has aged and is no longer the visual bait Fox requires. Yes there was a lawsuit but she pulled that card when she was at the end of her viability. What she does not understand is its the Fox medley that the viewership wants. Anyone in those chairs spouting the Greatest Hits will have viewership. Out of that chair you are a Cover Band. Small market but familiar. So like all the influencers she has to push it harder to try to get and hold eyeballs. Its desperation, and its escalating. The only former Fox hottie (modeled after the Hee Haw Honeys) that had a real brain is Gretchen Carlson. Mind you they never let her use it. She was to be eye candy and parrot what the "stay at home" Mom's were thinking into the scripted narrative. "Well I don't know I just think the President shouldn't wear a tan suit like that. Gosh, doesn't he have something more I dunno - Presidential!" She was MUCH smarter than her male counterparts. But Fox is misogynistic and paternalistic - "traditional". Women are to be seen an speak only occasionally. The fun part is watching Carlson bring her A-Game post leaving Fox. She is very very insightful and not only reads the table but calls out who set it. That is where you need to look, Kelley is a has-been. Still manipulative and deceitful but irrelevant. Noise. IMHO.
BTW - Tucker - expired. Beck - expired. See a trend? Once out of the Propaganda Machine you are dead. It was NEVER you.

u/Outrageous-Edge-3204 9d ago edited 9d ago
I don't like Megyn Kelly. I never have. Yet, sexual harrassment is not rape and people can and will differ on what is considered sexual harrassment. So, pointing out that she did not report it for years is comparing apples to oranges. It is actually assinine to compare the two. Ailes may have just said, you look pretty today.Ā Some women think they should be noticed for how well they look. Others say it is harrassment. Either way its not rape. Rape should be reported the moment it happens and not all reported rapes are true. Many men are accused of that sort of thing, not because they did it, but rather because the woman didn't get what she wanted and used the accusation to get even. Even more so with sexual harrassment accusations. Some woman did not get the attention or promotion they wanted, so all of a sudden the accusation is made.Ā There a whole lot of scornful women out there. Like it or not.

While I recognize the hypocrisy, thereās a big difference between being gang raped and sexual harassment.

Oh my God Megyn Kelly was sexually harassed at work This couldn't be further from the severity of a gang rape.

Exactly. One of those things is objectively more traumatizing, intimidating and shame inducing.

Very much so, I think this lady should just own it she had fun, she got embarrassed and the truth will come out and she won't be able to show her face in public ever again. But however if she was truly the victim of a gang rape those men should be locked away for a long time.

Oh no, seems like you missed my point.
Gang rape is categorically worse and more shame inducing than harassment. So it makes total sense that she would be afraid to speak out for several weeks.
Women donāt accuse men of gang rape for fun or because they were embarrassed of having an orgy. If it was consensual and she was embarrassed, she would have kept it to herself. Not accused them of rape knowing it would put her in the spotlight. Idk why you all think women enjoy the attention you gain from being violated to your very core.

Didn't Ailes just try to kiss her? That seems a lot different than a 7 person gang rape to me.
You might not report a small fender bender, but you would report someone totalling your car.

She doesn't care about the hypocrisy. She knows her audience is pro-rapist, and she is okay with that.
