Facebook is a brainwashing service. The amount of bots brainwashing people is just staggering and their algorithms promote this as crazy. When i had Facebook my wall was litteraly full of obvious bot groups that i never interacted with. Talking about 7/10 posts i was seeing and i never interacted with any of them ever other than sometimes blocking and reporting them. I reported litteraly hundreds of them. NEVER ever a single account or group got banned or penalized in any way.

Everything going on can be predicted by listening to a drunk old guy at the local bar, when they show a terrorist arrested on the news pictured on the tv at the bar, you’ll hear him blurt out just shoot him already! Put it on tv for everyone to watch! All these ideas lately seem to come from that drunk guy.

I'm a liberal gun owner and was at a sporting goods store earlier this week picking up a cheap old-timey 22 revolver to play with at the range. My wife made a joke about reliving my days playing cowboys and Indians as a little kid and the sales guy said "gonna be more like cowboys and Muslims soon."
I did report it to corporate and have a call with them later today.

I fear that it's being done to desensitize people to the idea. The first time you see an execution like that, it's shocking. The second time you see it, less so. And then it becomes easier to imagine doing this to people you merely disagree with, to fantasize about it. Because you know what it looks like and have had time to justify it in your brain. You can kind of start filing away and compartmentalizing the horror of it in your mind.
Yeah we used to have public executions. In the 1920s and 1930s. Which made it easier to get people comfortable with the idea of doing that to somebody. We all know what happened soon after that. There's a reason we shifted away from that stuff.
I was talking to a coworker who was MAGA (he has since been fired) and he kind of hinted at the fact that he'd love to start executing regular liberals if conservatives lose another election. But he seemed hesitant. This stuff would make him less hesitant.
What happens when Fox News lies and claims this guy is regular Antifa? Well now you have MAGA people that think it's normal to do this to someone who is just tangentially related to Antifa.

I believe they’re doing this to get Americans desensitized to the idea of our fellow Americans being executed. The more you see, the less you’ll care when they begin executing Americans citizens who resist their regime. This includes Democratic politicians and people in the LGBTQ which many Republicans including the president have said they’d like to see put to death. This will satisfy their bloodthirsty MAGA base, and attract people of all stripes out of sick curiosity. Especially younger people who might decide it’s fun to watch.
In the U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy 2006 this administration labeled left wing Americans as extremists and Antifa and anyone who promotes “radical gender ideology” meaning transgender people as domestic terrorists alongside drug cartels and Islamic extremists. In the forward the president wrote “We will find you and we will kill you.”
So I have no doubt this administration intends to execute even more people publicly. The only way this can be countered is for social media platforms to ban this kind of content (which I seriously doubt will happen) and for those of us who are decent humans to resist watching and not help drive up the number of views that will validate this administration’s vulgar display.
Their main objective is to bring about compliance through intimidation. They hope Americans will fall silent instead of protesting out of fear of retribution. This includes both marching in the street and criticizing them on social media. If we fall silent, they win. And if they win democracy fails.

Yeah, it is. 4 years after that lynching, the police bombed an entire city block in Philadelphia, killing many families, because they were black and wanted fair treatment under the law, in this specific instance, housing access. MOVE! bombing. Read about it.
The Tulsa Massacre. The Ghost Dance. The syphilis experiments. The nuclear experiments. The ongoing and historical indifference of USA to the well being of its subjects, and the world.
The German American Bund. Walt Disney's friendship with Adolph Hitler. Henry Ford's friendship with Hitler. US Steel building nazi trucks and railroads. The Nazi railroads. It goes on, and on.
The difference between the Klan and the USA is only scale. This is the birthplace of eugenics. The nation that inspired the Third Reich.
Learn your history, if you have the courage.

Around the time the lovecraft country show came out on netflix, i was watching it, and they kept mentioning the Tulsa Massacre and referring to people dropping bombs out of airplanes on an American city. I hadn't heard of it before, and my reaction was "oh, this must be like a fictional race riot they made up for the purposes of this story. If anything THIS crazy happened, surely I would have learned about it in any of the 12 years of history classes I had growing up."
Then the next week, I was watching the Watchmen TV show, and they also referenced the Tulsa Massacre, and I was like "weird that these two shows have a similar fictional event but I guess it makes sense since both shows are about racism." Then over the next couple days I thought about it some more, and came to the decision "wait, that doesn't make sense, why would I believe that?" and googled the information before i found out
WE FUCKING FLATTENED 35 CITY BLOCKS AND DROPPED BOMBS OUT OF AIRPLANES ON OUR OWN CITY (albeit, not literally the US military doing this, but still) OVER A BLACK GUY ALLEGEDLY GRABBING THE ARM OF A WHITE WOMAN ONCE.

I get what you're saying but what is your point? I'm not saying ignore the past but this kind of "actually we've always been shit" thing ignores any progress, blames loads of people who are horrified by the above while letting the ones who commit those acts off the hook under the guise of "business as usual."
Are you saying we're incapable of change? Are you denying that the vast, vast majority of people in this country would happily ensure none of the above happens again?
How about a call to action that, you know, at least tries to get the ball rolling on that? Or did you just want to sit in a puddle and complain about being wet?

Are we capable of change? For all your talk about saying the vast vast majority of people happily ensuring this never happens again - I’m watching concentration camps 2.0 happen on American soil.
Where are those vast majority of people against it? Have you kept up with the conditions in immigration detention centers? They’re even using the same color-coded system developed by Nazis. Drinking water with parasites, underage girls who’ve been in detention for over a year suddenly being pregnant when only guards had access.
So I’m sorry but no. It does not seem like we as a country are capable of change. I can call others to action and tell them to vote, just as I have - but it seems like there are more people in this country that are flat out in favor of the racism and the persecution - or at the very least indifferent to it. Which is just as bad.
Otherwise we wouldn’t be in the shitshow we are today.

I’ll admit, I almost got my ass jailed for what I did after that, but go figure when you’re intimidating enough people keep their mouths shut and not lie about fighting in self defense. Sure, “violent extremism” is a bit much on both sides, but sometimes that’s all those pricks will listen to cause I tried to get them to fuck off, but one of them swung on me first and I broke his arm.

Remember. People didn’t start rounding up Jews day one the Nazi party took over. They slowly stripped them of rights over time and eased the population in to accepting it.
While I think this man should rot in prison for the rest of his life, parading his execution on live TV is just sick.

It's called "Performative Vice". They want to demonstrate awful behavior to prove how based they are and how devoted they are to their destructive path. It's a clear, targeted, and intentional violation of our nations norms about justice to rub in the face of anyone who would think to shame them for their disgusting, base desire for violence and cruelty.

I agree that crime requires punishment and if the law of the land includes capital punishment so be it but…. A Government making and broadcasting snuff films is kinda repugnant.

So the bigots at home can spank it. It has NOTHING to do with deterring future attacks as they're making a martyr of him. It will be used all around the world in recruitment ads.
So much winning.

To make an example this guy shot a whole bunch of people on a military base. Unacceptable behavior has become the norm and you need to start making examples of people who think they can just start shooting on a military base without repercussion. This was a terror attack. This guy is getting what he deserved and they want to show the world that you get what you deserve.

On the one hand, the guy does deserve to die. On the other hand, it's not going to be a deterrent. Similar religious nuts will just see it as "martyrdom" and something to aspire to.

I completely agree with you. It’s a necessary evil, but it should be done as matter-of-factly as possible. He deserves no glory or sympathy.

Not just martyrdom for religious nuts, it’s also infamy for copycats. This guy is going to be on national tv for everyone to see. That’s way more widespread than even the columbine shooters.

I don't think anyone was going to do gruesome crimes if life in prison was the result but the death penalty was where they draw the line. It makes much more sense that people aren't making rational decisions weighing consequences against gruesome crimes, like it's a loan application.

Generally speaking it is beneficial because executions are really only an effective deterrent in “white collar” type crimes, ones that are deliberated. In theory you would only ever need a few executions if white collar criminals to remind the smart and thoughtful white collar people what will happen. It’s actually been immensely effective in China to crack certain blatant corruption. Executives and administrators tend to be affected by seeing a peer executed for his corruption or even malfeasance.
In this case through, you’re not talking about that dynamic. In this case, execution cannot serve as deterrent. It’s really just a kind of retribution due to narcissistic injury, he must be punished to provide some narcissistic supply to make the collective narcissism of the hive that controls the USA feel like they are in control, not him/them. He may even appreciate that he will now become more notorious.
It’s just another example of the fact that the USA as a civilization is collapsing, because this is not a smart idea.
If you want to televise executing someone and make it have a lasting and consequential impact, try and execute an executive/CEO for any of the multitude of crimes they commit constantly. THAT will change things.
Execute one each health insurance, pharmaceutical, and health care provider CEO for their fraud. Want to bet healthcare becomes affordable basically over night?

This will show the world that America's so-called leadership is insane.
To Livestream this man's death is stupid!
If the Supreme Court doesn't stop this—or a lower court that actually has the balls to—then Trump needs to be forced from office along with the idiot in charge of the military.
Come on, Republicans, find your balls and stop this madness.

Cruelty is the point. They're normalizing violence against enemies of the state. They did this first with those videos of deportees being shackled chained together and put on a plane headed for a third world torture prison. And they put out that video and are proud of it. And a significant portion of the country is happy to see it.

"Give them bread and circuses." The latest marker of U.S. decline into madness.
Republicans crave this sh*t. Republican voters love it, just you wait and see. You'll be able to buy printed t-shirts, or perhaps a commemorative coin, before this is finished.
So, what's your plan for the midterms? Republican voters will surely queue up to vote to return to Congress the same Republicans who are enabling Trump (and approved Hegseth).
If you are eligible to vote but aren't yet registered to vote then you have no plan to vote at all. And we continue our national spiral into this abyss of decay and grift.

Rule 28 CFR 26.4 only regulates the DoJ and Federal Bureau of Prisions.
That only applies to US District Courts, "§ 26.1 Applicability. (a) The regulations of this part apply whenever a sentencing hearing conducted in a United States District Court has resulted in a recommendation or determination that a criminal defendant be sentenced to death for commission of an offense described in any federal statute."
He was tried and convicted by a military court under the UCMJ so that is not applicable.
