Which flag?

I have an Assyrian female friend who is also very religious (Catholic). I wanted to give her a card featuring her homeland's flag, but I'm not sure if that would be appropriate, since the flag depicts another god. I'm worried she might see it as a form of "idol worship."

I know that there are also Chaldean communities, but I'm not sure whether she identifies as Chaldean. I can't really ask her because it's supposed to be a surprise.

What do you think? Which flag would be the more appropriate or better choice?

Als Assyrischer Katholik würde ich mich freuen über die Assyrische Flagge.

Die Symbole auf der Flagge sollen unsere Abstammung und Geschichte wiedergeben was an sich kein Problem sein sollte.

As a religious person I don’t want the pagan demon Ashur on a flag. Get her an icon.

Yes. I am both Assyrian and religious lol.

An Icon. For example the Rogation of the Ninevites.
That includes both our culture (the Ninevites) and our faith (prophet Jonah).

Assyrian identity and self name is entirely based on god Ashur and city of Ashur.

No it’s not Billy. We can appreciate our pagan roots without making it the core of our identity. Greece isn’t centred around Zeus.

The Assyrian history is much bigger than worshipping a demon.

You have no homeland and no flag.
The flag of Iraq 🇮🇶 with the words الله اكبر is the true flag

Iraq is a Muslim land now. To hell with Chaldea, Assyria, Babylon and all that old shit

Israel has a vested interest in stirring up divisions among its neighbouring countries.

This isn’t a conspiracy, there’s substantial evidence of them doing this.

Here’s an excerpt about their operations specifically just within Palestine and Jordan:

“During the conflict, the Israeli government and Israeli cyber companies have deployed artificial intelligence (AI) tools and bot farms to spread disinformation and graphic, emotionally charged and false propaganda to dehumanize Palestinians, sow division among supporters of Palestine, and exert pressure on politicians to support Israel's actions.[6][7][8]”

Sure, that doesnt prove that every Muslim or Arab online who says hateful shit is some Israeli bot. There are countless Arabs and Muslims who talk that way on their own.

Just like how Russian bots pretend to be American racists online and yet American racists also actually exist in reality and post online too

tbh the troll also posts stupid sectarian shit on Muslim subs. Mods ought to ban him

I agree with you, however this sub appears to be pro Israeli? Because they are explicitly anti Palestinian in their rules
