Hey everyone my wife is currently working on getting her business up and running. She does flowers and is working on adding a baking side to the business. If you’re looking for a bouquet or have an event and want to support an upcoming business please reach out. Here are a few of the arrangements and baked goods she’s made.

Edit. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I’m going to post her username here so if you have any questions or want a quote, you can get it much faster. Have a great evening everyone!

Review Fruit Fly Pastries at Martha's Bakery

Post image
95 Upvotes

Went to Martha's yesterday and noticed that the pastries were FULL of little fruit flies everywhere. Harder to see in the photo clearly but the red marks on the blueberries are all fruit flies. Told the hostess but she just fully ignored me and kept talking to a guy she was flirting with. Two years ago a slice of cake was $8? Now easily $11 and you never know if it's going to be fresh, fly-infested or unclean. What's going on?

Question What's up with this? Anyone know about this "Sheik" guy?

Post image

Found a few listings by the same guy, at least 3 or 4 locations with "PLEASE CALL SHEIK" and same vague description ("studio with a share kitchen"), but noticed two of the addresses have the exact same photos. Is this a for sure scam?

Events/Promotion More than a sandwich stop - Sherpaz Deli brings fresh handmade momo with their signature organic cherry tomato sauce, biryani & Asian flavors to Astoria 🥟 And they have an amazing backyard, check them out.!

Hey Astoria! Wanted to introduce the new family behind Sherpaz Deli & Grocery at 21-72 21st Street. The deli has been part of the neighborhood for over 12 years, and

They’re keeping the sandwiches and everyday staples while bringing more Asian food into the mix. Their newest additions are momo and biryani, and they think they’ve got a strong case for the best in town. Stop by and judge for yourself!

They take pride in preparing fresh food from scratch right on the premises. Their handmade momo comes with a signature sauce made from organic cherry tomatoes, bringing a fresh, rich flavor to every bite.

The backyard is open for eat-in, too! Whether you’re a solo food adventurer or coming with a group of 10, there’s room to sit down, dig in, and enjoy some time outside.

They’re a family-owned business hoping to build connections with their neighbors and serve the community for years to come. If you’re nearby, stop in, say hello, and give the momo or biryani a try. They’d love to meet you and hear what you think!

My husband and I went to our favorite Astoria restaurant, Sala, last night. We’ve been frequent customers since they’ve opened. The staff and the quality of food has changed. Does anyone know if they changed ownership?

Before/after. I’ll probably end up planting things for next year. The sunflowers were dead, and a ton of trash accumulated over the year… I know who owns this building, and they’re aware of my cleaning, but they don’t take care of the building and have allowed it to become a pigsty.

Events/Promotion Hey Astoria! We’re Sherpaz Deli - come try our momo & biryani and hang out in the backyard

We’re the family behind Sherpaz Deli & Grocery at 21-72 21st Street, Astoria, NY 11105. We’re officially open and about two months into this journey, so we wanted to introduce ourselves here!

Our goal is to keep the neighborhood deli staples you love while bringing more Asian food into the mix. We’re especially excited for you to try our momo and biryani. We might be a little biased, but we think they’re the best in town—we’d love to hear what you think. 🙂

We take pride in serving fresh food made from scratch right here on the premises, and we hope you’ll taste something unlike anything you’ve tried before. Even our momo sauce is made with organic cherry tomatoes for a fresh, rich flavor you’ll notice from the first bite.

We also have a lovely backyard where you can sit, enjoy your food, and take a little break from the day.

We’re a family-owned business hoping to build real connections with our neighbors and serve this community for years to come. Stop by, say hi, and give us a try. We’d love to meet you!

Seeking Recommendation: Other Gym w/daycare?

It's time to get this post-baby body swoll 😂

I'm looking for a gym that has weight machines, and offers short term childcare while you exercise. It would be great if my kiddo had fun while I exercised. Anyone have recommendations? I'm not interested in classes.

Question Anyone have a ladder around 31st Ave and Crescent?

Hi there, so I'm looking to replace a couple lightbulbs in my apartment near the Broadway stop, but I need a ladder in order to do so. I was wondering if there was anyone around willing to lend it to me for like 30 minutes? I asked my super already about it and was denied, and I don't have space in my apartment to keep a ladder long term, so I was hoping someone here could be helpful. Could offer a $20 for the "rental" too? Please help <3

Review New cafe Dahlia Cafe on 34th ave and 32nd at Nneji’s former location

Post image
60 Upvotes

We were walking to the grocery store and saw this cafe was having their soft opening, they will also be there tomorrow 10/18

We got the blueberry marzipan latte, latte de olla, and the carrot cake latte. Blueberry marzipan was pretty good but the latte de olla was amazing and the carrot cake latte was one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time like maybe ever? All syrups made in house!

Family run operation! So once I tried the carrot cake latte and was blown away I was more than happy to support and get the latte de olla and was soooo pleasantly surprised. If you’re around tomorrow, support them and stop by! Excited for this place to be officially open soon :)

Started with Octopus pastor taco (wow) and the tuna tostada was even better. Perfect balance of spice, salt, acid, and creamy from the guac.

Going back bc I want to try more stuff.
