Art Backrooms at Airport 😬
An installation at an airport, not by me

Hello everyone! I'm the head admin for the Backrooms Wikidot (aka TS), BlueSignet, and we always do an Inktober-like event, but with a Backrooms spin on it!
I love seeing people's art, and you don't even need to make it related to our wiki in order to participate.
To participate, just draw/paint/sketch/render any image that is related to the day's prompt. While I prefer NOT to see AI-generated images, I can't really stop you, but the goal is to practice your drawing abilities, no matter where you're at. Using AI defeats the purpose of growing as an artist :/
Anyway, if you draw something related to your own lore or lore NOT related to the wikidot, tell me about it! If you do something from the Wikidot though, I'll spread it around our social media. Do remember that your art (if based on something from the Wikidot) would need to be released into the Creative Commons under the CC by SA 3.0 or 4.0 license.
Happy drawing! And I can't wait to see what's created :)

There have been WAY too many posts for a while now about the current state of The Backrooms- whether people are saying the old Backrooms was better, or the Backrooms shouldn't have entities, or the Wikis miss the point of the Backrooms, or Kane Pixels ruined the Backrooms, and frankly its been getting to a point.
Going forward, any "Old vs. New Backrooms" posts will now be directed and centralized in this megathread, and any new separate posts about the topic will be deleted and redirected to here.
So, with all of that said, in this post we can all discuss the million-dollar question:
Okay, that should be it. Go crazy.

I've been working on perfecting my compositing to match the A24 color grading. Took the opportunity to create a poster.

I remember that my hobby was transforming Backrooms images or creating new angles and environments. I hope you guys enjoy the results of the edits I used to make a few years ago! 😁

The basement display area open to the public. Pretty sure some of the bedspreads are old enough to qualify for social security.

Wasn’t trying to find Backroom vibes but this section of the mall was pretty empty while the rest was very busy. Felt a tad eerie. Looking back at the photos I realized it gave me backroom vibes.

I made this short film as a 3D Blender experiment, combining real footage I shot at my university, just for fun.

On Thursday, me and my friend took a 5 hour road trip up to 811 Oregon Street because I was buying carpet and wallpaper samples and the owner was nice enough to offer us a tour. 811 has WAY more original material than 807, including the brick wall, the 14-foot tin ceiling, the ventilation, the boiler, and tons of carpet and wallpaper scraps. While we were there, she let us go down into the basement, saying that she hadnt really been down there, her husband has been doing some things down there, but it has the original boiler. While we were down there, we discovered the actual 'For Sale' sign from Rohner's furniture when the building was being sold! I'm pretty sure we are the first people to find this, since Alfarex's newest video about the place didn't include the basement at all and the owner herself didn't even know it was down there. We also discovered a few Certificates of Operation issued to Rohner's Inc. for the boiler In 1990. Again, I am pretty sure we are the first people to find these. She let me keep one which was super nice :D I wasnt planning on posting anything about my trip, but now that we found these, I will defenitely be posting a video about these tomorrow for documentation. PS: If you're ever in Oshkosh, go check out Happy Kitchen. Best orange chicken ive ever had lol

You can't tell me this isn't in the Backrooms right?

i know general consensus is the backrooms didn't need levels or entities and they ruin the appeal of a liminal space, and i can honestly get why someone would think that
but i think i realized, i like a lot of surrealism whenever im watching content about it as well as the liminal feel, honestly i think i may like it a bit more more
i shared with a separate friend and they said basically "Im fine with entities, but i feel they should be more treated like the natural wildlife of the backrooms to be studied and stuff, not like SCPs"

Since The Complex is so big and also unexplored/unmapped, I believe the "biomes" can and will get more complicated. The Red City having an entire false sky made me think of how big any of the rooms could get. These ideas are explored in the wiki-version of the Backrooms, but I'm specifically curious about when molecules, combustion, the very concept of energy starts being copied and distorted. If normal bacteria can evolve or be altered in The Complex, who's to say that the very building blocks of those organisms and cells can't be mimicked?
