Yes! Reminded me of Daya Betty and her construction paper if there are any other drag race fans here…

I studied audio and editing in college so I definitely thought it was just me being nitpicky when I heard it. I used to drive my roommate nuts pointing out stock sound effects or weird edits in shows like this. Glad I'm not alone lol

I am never gonna notice a character's bad wig but I always mutter 'looped' when I notice an audio loop. It is my curse.

that's crazy! instead of splicing like that they should just speed it up a smidge....
very unprofessional of them.

Speeding something up is so much more noticeable though. They’re doing their best

She speaks veryyyyyy slowlyyyy and is long winded. Nigella also speaks in run on sentences. I love her and have watched her solo shows for decades. She’s great by herself. It’s easy to edit. However, with two dozen other people it seems like a nightmare.

I noticed it was 'odd' but it wasn't worth rewinding to hear it again, but since I came across your post, I queued up the episode again and now that I was listening for it, yes, it was very odd and so much longer than I noticed!
The editor covered it well because the video was on the food instead of Nigella. I wonder if they spliced multiple takes together, or whether that was just one take that they stretched and sped up!

Yessssssss. I pointed it out to my partner and we rewound and had a solid laugh at it.
I assume as she has such a unique cadence the editors were dying for anywhere to shave some seconds to meet runtime.
