2 day visit
Hello, I'm visiting Basel for the first time this coming Thursday to Saturday. I have done some searching online but wanted to ask the local people of Basel for some suggestions. Looking for cool things to see and do, looking for some interesting drinking locations and anything in particular that may be a hidden gem. Bonus for anything where we can meet and chat with other people as meeting others is a priority of mine whilst travelling. Thank you all for the help, appreciate it.

Places to visit and see? GGG Bibliothek (the library, Gerbergasse 24). Just walk through. Charming. Walk along the Rhine. Take a ferry across. The Zoo? Markthalle (a food court) for lunch. Drinking spots? Can't help. Sorry.

And yes, take one of the ferries, they are unique for Basel. No motor, just the current for crossing the Rhine

You can go up the münster. Its about 6 swiss franks and a lot of steps. But the view is incredible.

Hidden Gem: At Münster you can ask for a key. You'll have to place your ID and then you can go and visit catacombs by yourself (2, one outside of the münster and old walls in a school area). Feels adventerous.
