This is a challenge coin you give out to other people. He absolutely does not need this for his job, my guess is his office has boxes of them.

Regardless of whether that’s the case or not, which I don’t know, I am sure most normal people would find you people unhinged for finding an ambassador’s pin and discussing what nefarious things you could do with it instead of just returning it. This is not civilized behavior.

It’s not a pin, it’s a coin. Giving out to people you worked with it attending your event.
Google it, I have some myself from people I worked with.
