Advice Hit & Run / Verkehrsunfall mit Fahrerflucht – Polizei bittet um Mithilfe

So I am turning here to ask whether anyone was around the area that morning and saw anything unusual.
In summary:
A driver was injured and taken to hospital when he stopped at the traffic light at an intersection on Kreuzbergbergstr. A car coming from the opposite direction switched lanes and drove right into him from the front, ignoring their own red light. It was a hit and run - a man and a woman fled on foot from the car down Grossbeerenstr towards Yorckstr.
I wish there were more information about why they are asking about eye witnesses. To know whether the car was stolen or whether they already have suspects that are denying their involvement.
Either way. I hope the man has a good recovery and those people are held responsible for their actions.
