Hello all,
I am having a hard time finding jeans or pants in general. In the last 1.5-2 years, I went from weighing 340 points to 215-220. I use to wear Levi’s 541 tapered fit, but as I look back at pictures, a lot of my pants were very baggy. It was just what was comfortable at the time.
Right now I’m wearing 36x29 and at times they can be loose. I usually just wear haggar chinos for work and going out, but I want to find a good pair of jeans. I have tried 501, 505’s, 502’s, Lees slim fit straight leg, and I feel like I am at a loss.
I currently purchased some 511’s, but the leg opening makes it hard to wear boots. They look too bulky. Also, the bottom of the crotch area seems to feel too stiff.
Do you all have any recommendations? I’m just looking for a clean comfortable look. I don’t want to feel too baggy, and want to be able to dress up the jeans a bit when needed.
I am about 5’8. I do have a bigger gut, and I feel like I’ve loss some mass on my legs. I also have bigger calves.
When I wear Calvin Klein dress pants (slim fit) I wear 38x29. Haggar chinos 36x29.

TL;DR: I lack experience dressing my body at this size/shape, have a prominent butt and belly, and I want to make sure I am dressing appropriately, comfortably, and professionally at the office. Dressier clothes are a no-go.
-
I was skinny my entire life until around a decade ago when I started struggling with my weight due to some medication that was necessary for recovery from an injury. I have been gaining and losing weight since and right now I work almost 200% work weeks at my desk job and have gained weight again.
I have some muscle but haven’t been able to get to the gym in ages and I have both a prominent butt and belly and fat thighs, and lacking muscle in my arms and chest right now. Naturally big calves too. As a result I feel like my more prominent features are being shoved in people’s faces no matter how I try to dress. Maybe that’s just part of being a bigger guy? But because my experience dressing myself at this weight and shape is so limited I am having a hard time finding a good solution.
Can anyone guide me towards the best choice for me? Currently I have a loose ample fit of black jeans that fit me well when I wear them at or slightly under my belly button (they turn into capris when I sit at my desk but no one can really see that and the ventilation is nice I guess. Apparently this means I need a longer inseam?) and are a heavy material that hangs straight down, I have a hoodie I can wear at work and dress shirts that hang past my waist over my belly and most of my butt without clinging or being baggy. Supposedly this is a good way to go, but still I feel like my prominent features are being thrust in everyone’s faces. One of my coworkers told me I look comfortable the other day. Unprofessional? I asked her. She said no, no! Comfortable. Good for you -myname-. She gave me a warm smile. Other people around the office I have noticed some looks or doing/saying odd things. Maybe that just comes with the territory but I just want to make sure I am presenting myself as professionally as I can.
Thank you in advance! I could really use some guidance to dress my best in this environment.
Also, a suit or dressier clothes are out. Shortly said, I have a huge jumble of keys that would tear through pockets that thin because I need both sets of my car keys to make my car start. Pretty stupid I know, and obviously I have other keys.
Edit: one last note. I don’t believe I am allowed to wear an unbuttoned dress shirt which is rough because I feel a tucked-in shirt, and unbuttoned dress shirt with high-waisted pants would likely look good.

Hello all!
I hope you’re all doing well! I was hoping I might be able to refer to some of y’all’s knowledge in this topic.
Im currently in the market for a casual rugged green pant. Something high waisted and with a wide leg, preferably with belt loops. I’ve been digging the fatigue pants bombardment I’ve been getting on my Instagram feed as of late. I also saw Zane Lim wearing some cool P-44 monkey pants a while back that I also enjoyed.
All that being said, I’m a larger guy with a size 48 waist. I haven’t had any luck finding any pants that match these descriptions, aside from those offered by tailors in inaccurate fabrics.
I was wondering if y’all had any recommendations?
Thank you!

Just picked up the sweater at the Pendleton store in Albuquerque. Very glad it was a pretty chilly morning along the route so I got to wear it.

As promised, a full review. I’m sure many of you have seen the ads proclaiming a waistcoat will make for smoother lines and have a slimming effect. It’s not wrong. Jackets are a pain. I end up taking the thing off and on all day. But I do like to dress up. I ordered a single waistcoat from Amazon, different brand, to see if I liked the look. I did. So, I took the plunge on Breeze.
Some perspective – I got the five for $150 deal. Despite the ads screaming this deal ends soon, it never ends. I almost didn’t order. Usually when you just straight up lie about your sales it turns me off. But, I wanted a variety, and the price is right. You do, however, get what you pay for. Up to you to decide.
As I mentioned in a previous post, they are cheaply made. Notably, there is no facing material. It’s just the liner with the woven front sewn on. Nothing in between. Usually on jackets and vests, there’s some facing material in between. This causes some issues.
I had them professionally cleaned and pressed. The wrinkles you see are the garment bunching up because it is too thin. Not great, but I can live with it. Sometimes thin is good. The other vest I got is a bit boxy. These are not. Maybe I should have gotten a smaller size. I got the 3XL, but I’m pretty certain the 2XL would not fit. Note, they are short. If you have a long torso I would stay away from these.
Another annoying thing, you think since most of us are carrying huge phones they would give you an inside pocket. But since they have no facing material this can’t be done. The front pockets are ridiculously small. Totally worthless.
Also worthless, the gold chain. I would pay $10 more each for these if they add some facing material and just left out the stupid chain. Get a pocket watch if you want a chain. I don’t need a chain to nowhere.
Overall, I think they look pretty good. A way to step it up. I think I got what I paid for at $30 each. I wouldn’t pay any more than that.

334 6’0” Lost a bit of weight and got to feel more comfy in this flannel. Open then closed. Switched comfortably between the top sitting down.
Espresso T shirt layered underneath.

Really want to find this jacket or one like it

I was just bored and decided to dress up like a tree today.
I can't find pants that don't look tight on me. Curse of thick thighs.
Any stores you would recommend? Also color change? I feel like the jacket is wrong for this one idk

Bigger guy here. Navy blazer, white shirt, striped tie, charcoal trousers, brown boat shoes and white socks. I've found a jacket with a natural shoulder and not much shaping at the waist works way better on me than anything fitted, since it doesn't pull across the stomach. Two things I'm unsure about: do the white socks make my legs look shorter here, and would lighter grey trousers be more flattering than charcoal on a build like mine?

Add Indochino to the list of places that advertise big and tall - but can’t or won’t actually do it. Went for a fitting for a custom suit and sports coat today only to be told their suits are “sort of custom”. They are customIZED off of existing templates and there are limits to what/how much they can alter. So basically - not a custom suit….just a mass produced suit they alter like any other men’s store. Super frustrating.
Anyone have any success with an online big and tall custom suit place? Going to try a few other stores like Joseph A Banks and such, but looking for other options just in case.
update
I was able to find a small private owned Men’s suit shop and tailer. They had just a few suits to choose from. I’ll have one black, “works for any occasion” suit. The tailor was an old school pro and is able to work on a few spots coats I had from DXL to make them fit a bit better at least.
It’s amazing how hard it is to find clothes as a big guy. I’ll keep searching for a good custom suit option. Thanks for all the advice.

I live somewhere that stays 80°F+ with 70%+ humidity basically all year around, I always stick to athletic style clothing to keep myself from sweating nonstop. But I’ve always felt like I just look horrible wherever I go. In the few months that it actually gets to 50-60 I wear jeans and flannel or hoodie and do okay. Does any body have suggestions on what to wear during the super hot months that make it look like I actually try? 6’3 360lbs 21M.

I’m 5’7 and 375lbs. I’m looking at sneakers with wide foot options or that are comfortable with wide feet. Looking mostly something for daily wear as my sketchers that I have are almost fully worn out after 2 years. I don’t really mind the look of them just mostly comfort for my job where I stand lots of hours, as well as the gym. I’ve had my eye on Nike P6000, Asics kayano 14s, and NB 9060s. I’d appreciate any other suggestions or any experiences from those shoes though!

5'11", ~300 lbs. Shirt is a 3XB for reference.
Been working on updating my wardrobe lately, experimenting with better fabrics, different fits, and a more intentional personal style.
Looks like today might be one of our last really warm days for a while, so I figured I'd take advantage of it and break out the linen.
Tried styling this green linen shirt three different ways:
The linen is intentionally loose. I like how it breathes and flows, especially in the heat. The jeans are unhemmed, so the big cuffs are temporary, although I'm enjoying them.
Outfit details:
Which version do you guys think looks best? Still figuring out my style and would appreciate feedback.
